Came here for a friends graduation party and everything was amazing. The food (catering) was delicious, we had steak, chicken, fettuccini pasta, lasagna, stuffed shells and salad. Everything was yummy! And the employees were very nice
Definitely recommend this place!

We had a retirement party on the second floor and it went well. The food and service was good and management was very accommodating. We even had enough space for a DJ. Nothing but high praises. Thanks, Jeff. Looking forward to setting up our next party and no, this place isn’t closing in May (as some reviewers wrote).

I love this local bar! The locals come here to watch the football games. Today I am here for my St. Patricks day dinner, an annual tradition.
You have to start off with some black and tan beers from Tommy at the bar.
We always order the corned beef with cabbage and the Shepards pie. They slice the corned beef so thinly that you don’t even need to use your knife! The cabbage is cooked perfectly. It is nice a soft but still has a crunchy bite to it. The dish is also served with 2 potatoes. Slap some butter on them! The Shepards pie at Monahans & Fitzgerald is the best! You NEED to order it when you come here. The chunks of beef have this gravy that is out of this world. They also put onions, carrots and peas in the mix. It’s topped with mashed potato purée and baked in the oven until the top of the potatoes is toasted and crispy.
We ate our long awaited meal so fast! I’m pretty sure they serve these dishes all year long so don’t wait until next St. Patricks Day to come to this establishment! Go Now!

Very nice place and friendly staff. I didn’t eat there so i don’t the food. The drinks were reasonable price. There was a live band playing the last time i was there. It was a nice plus. Definitely will come back soon.

I love this place. It’s sad to hear that it’s been sold and that it will close in May. Once again, greed wins out.
Bayside is changing… and not for the best.

Not a bad bar, not a great bar. Had a few drinks and met some friends. Then headed over to a table for dinner. Bartender was a little rude as we left the bar tab and wouldn’t let one of my friends just pay her portion. He came running over to the table and said «here’s your bar tab» and left it on our table in a huff. Take it easy pal we ain’t gonna stiff ya, we only moved 6 feet away. Anyway moving on… we ordered dinner, I ordered off the octoberfest special menu. Not so good, gravy thick and tasteless, red cabbage was ok… in retrospect I should have stuck with standard bar fare… Lesson to be learned… Treat customers like they are your guests… it will pay off.

Always a good time here. They even carry Mikes hard lemonade which is rare.

The best bar in Bayside, hands down. One of the best overall bars I’ve ever been to.
A great place to watch the game with the guys or catch a casual drink with the lady. Either occasion, the atmosphere is always appropriate. Jeff and crew always greet with a handshake and a smile, pull you up a stool and never let you have an empty glass, EVER. Most nights, it’s hard to leave because we’re having such a good time.
The food is awesome: burgers are juicy, fries are super crispy and the wings are dynamite. Portions are large and priced just right.
Bar owners take note, this is how it’s done.

It’s da best. They’ll pour you an absolutely perfect Guinness, and the food is superior pub fare.

Just had a friend’s baby shower here. Everything went well beginning to end. Can’t thank Jeff and the staff at Monahan’s enough for a great day. We all left happy and satisfied and most importantly, the mom — to — be was very happy with the event. Highly recommend this place for your next party!
P. S. I thought the location was very convenient — municipal parking lot across the street and lirr is just down the block.

We just had our baby’s baptism party here on Oct 25^th. First of all, Jeff was a huge help in planning the event. We are parents of 3, and both work. So our time is limited. But Jeff made everything stress-​free. At first we were going to take the larger room upstairs. But then we realized our elderly grandmothers couldn’t make the stairs. Jeff allowed us to use the downstairs room, and switched things around to accomodate us. Our guests raved about the food and the service. We will definitely book another party here in the future!

Jeff and the rest the gang do a great job in providing a very «everyone knows your name» atmosphere to this bar off of Bell boulevard. I’ve never waited more than one minute for a drink even when it’s been crowded because when it’s busy this bar has the common sense to have the right amount of bartenders to tend bar. I’ve never actually eaten at the restaurant but the bar food is great my choice their burgers and bar pies are cheap eats, but delicious. So in summary: staff is friendly, service is excellent, food is great, and the price is at the right range for the area. Cheers!

We went to this Irish Pub /​Restruant for St. Patrick’s Day 2014 with friends and I thought the meal was just fine. My only complaint was the Irish Soda Bread: tasted more like cake.

My Burger «med. rare» was ok, and I loved the Fries — they had a nice crunch to them, and they were not soggy. My friends had the Corn Beef which they said was moist not dry tasting. The menu was limited that night, all and all the food was good, no complaints from my friends. We meet here every St. Pat’s Day, and will keep coming back as long as the food is good.
***One note, the server tried to give us a bill at the end that was not itemized which we handed right back to him and requested he itemize each plate and drinks… what was he thinking — we would just pay any price??? So, if you go Monahan’s for drinks and eats make sure they itemize your bill.

Excellent place!!! Great food, drinks and service. The bartender was extremely nice and professional.
Stop by with a couple of buddies and we had beer and great American style cuisine. I had ordered the sampler, lobster ravioli and French onion soup. The wings that came with the sampler the lobster ravioli are excellent and I highly recommend.
We went on a Sunday evening, so it wasn’t too busy but expect it to be during peak times.

Monohans is one of my go-​to bars on Bell Boulevard. However, it was also one of my goto date night places when my boyfriend and I started dating. They have a decent menu with delish food. Their loaded potatoes are insane-​roasted potatoes drenched in ranch dressing with melted cheese, bacon and scallions – yum! I’ve also been known to order their mac and cheese when I’m there on a weekend. It’s a relaxed spot at night with decent drinks and a few beers on tap. Go to for a relaxed night with friends – also my favorite bar for Thanksgiving Eve with a cheap cover and the upstairs room for added space.

Located across from Donovan’s, this place has decent beer on tap and a fairly solid pub grub-​type of menu. The sliders were solid, with the panko-​crusted chicken being my favorite. The pulled pork slider tasted too much like a sparerib. The beef slider was rather ordinary.
Fries were solid. Chicken fingers were more breading than chicken, but I like that kind of ratio.
All in all, not a bad choice if you’re looking for typical pub fare in Bayside.

Monahan’s is an awesome bar, restaurant serving Bayside forever. Great bar food love their burgers, but if your lucky to go when they have prime rib on the menu then go for that and order one for me. After go downstairs start drinking and hopefully you might get lucky. Enjoy.

I dropped in early on a Monday afternoon with some friends because we kept smelling burgers. The food wasn’t bad, but I ordered my burger medium, my friend medium well. Mine came out well done, and his came out medium well. Really tough to swallow. I had ordered the MOM burger which came with mushrooms and onions, and between the vegetables and the ketchup I ate a little more then half. Fries were good.
The crowd at that time was middle aged working class men, but Fridays are ladies night and women drink free from 12−3am. Rum and coke was $ 6.
I’d go back for the burgers, even though they were waaaay overdone they were still good, which is saying something.

The updated version of Monahan’s is a great place to watch a game. The sizable televisions and bar is great, especially if your NY fan.
I watched the Giants/​Jets game here and there was a great mix of both fans. If raucous cheering and good times is what your looking for then there is no reason not to catch the Giants/​Cowboys game this weekend at Monahans!
