It pains me to have to append my previous review with one with a lower rating. However, the last few times I’ve been here, my experiences have been seriously lacking. The first time I order shrimp scampi over rice. The plate had so much oil on it, it was not even edible. The second time I went, we were 1 of 2 couples in the dining area and service was horrible. I won’t be making a return, which is sad because I frequented chris’ corner regularly and always enjoyed their food & found their service to be efficient.

Okay… I seriously love their food. They always mess up my delivery though. They take way too long to deliver too. I would order again simply because the food is good and the portions are big but get it together guys. I ordered two dinner meals with no special requests & they completely forgot to send one of them. When I called they said it was on it’s way & the delivery guy never showed up again. I called a third time & nobody knew what I was talking about while the phone got passed around from person to person. Tom gave me a credit for my dinner but it’s not the first time. One more chance.

I tried to like this place, since I heard such good reviews. A friend & I had plans to go somewhere else, but they were closed. My friend suggested this restaurant which I have never been to before. The 1 star is for the bruschetta that was brought out first & very tasty. My friend had shrimp oreganto &she said it was pretty good, but had better. I ordered Chicken Franchaise, which was basically chicken in Oil & overpowered with lemon. It was SO salty, I could only take 2 bites. The side pasta had about a teaspoon of sauce on(which was tasty), but most of the pasta was unsauced after mixing it. Would have been edible with a little more sauce. I don’t like to give a bad review on Unilocal, but I just don’t see what all great reviews are for? Maybe I ordered the wrong meal???

Just finished polishing off our dinner(take out) and everything was delicious. The cold antipasto was one of the better ones I’ve tasted in a while. The chicken Parmesan had flavor and the pasta was fresh. The delivery was pretty quick as well. I’ll definitely order from them again.

My family loves going to Chris’ Corner. Their complimentary bruschetta is so good!!! The kids order mac & cheese and a bar pie and we always have leftovers for the next day. I usually order a shrimp dish– parmigiana, scampi or francese… all so yummy! Husband loves their vodka sauce with angel hair and chicken. On our last visit we had buffalo wings and I ordered the soup of the day — cream of broccoli. The soup was very good. Well seasoned and creamy but not too thick like a lot of places make it. The wings were great too. The kids get to pick a prize out of the toy basket after their meal, which is their favorite part. They made some updates to the dining room décor and layout and took out the salad bar. Check it out for yourselves! Friendly service and they don’t rush you through your meal.

Very good used to go here every weekend as a kid with my family for the smörgåsbord. Not sure if they still have it. The place looks the same in need of a renovation. Been there recently. No complaints updated menu and good food

Definitely overpriced and food was only ok. Not the same as it was when I was a kid. The bar area has plenty of friendly faces though and pretty good atmosphere, would hang out there

Nice old-school Italian place in downtown Bayonne. It’s a bit out of the way but worth it. It could use more of an updating than what it’s already received, but it’s a nice place. We loved their calamari and their eggplant rollatini. A bit too much ricotta in the rollatini but that shows they don’t skimp. Service was excellent. Check them out, they are very good.

Love love love this local family owned eatery! It’s a neighborhood hang out and the food is always pipin hot! Great for take out too! I happen to enjoy the filet oregnato, bar pies, mussels, buffalo calamari and more(because that is just a few to name). My significant other LOVES their bar pies as he craves thin pizza ALOT! He orders quit often for pick up and it always great when he gets it home. The bartender on Friday’s is magnificent and is always slingin up the coldest beers in town. They have the bar area and dining room and also the downstairs for private parties. I highly recommend going here and getting some REAL italian food! Tell them I sent ya ;) Happy Unilocaling!

I’ve heard nothing but great things about this place and the only reason I can see why people here in Bayonne love it is because they’re used to mediocre Italian food. Don’t get me wrong the food wasn’t terrible but the standard plate of fried calamari was bland and nothing special. For entrée I had the baked manicotti which was over cooked and mushy and the sauce was soupy. My main problem with this place was the rudeness of the waitress. The booth behind us seemed to know her and whenever she came to talk to us she’d interrupt herself and stand next to our table while talking to another. I’d probably go to the bar section and try a burger but probably will never go back to the restaurant section again.

I love their food! While I’ve never been to the actual restaurant, we order form here every week! I’m a huge salad fan and their Ceasar Salad is the best I have found in the area! We also enjoy their chicken parm, chicken cacciatore and bar pies! The portions are quite large which means you’ll almost always have left overs! In terms of delivery, they are very quick! Often times they’ll quote me a 45 minute delivery time and but be here in 20 mins– fabulous!!! The order is taken by someone who speaks english– a rarity these days. also fabulous! I would encourage anyone looking to grab a bite and enjoy their food to pop in here! In our book, they can’t be beat: o)

Good solid family owned restaurant. The portions are large and the food was great. Service was good although the salad bar was sparse. A little dated but a nice night out

Italian restaurants in Hudson County are a dime a dozen. You can go anywhere and expect something decent. We were looking for a new place to check out since Italia(in Bayonne) closed. Chris’s Corner ran a commercial one night and we decided to check it out. Finding this place was interesting. We drove through a very industrial area and it’s very near the bridge. It’s on the corner of a residential area where you wouldn’t think a restaurant would be. The outside is very quaint/charming looking but the inside is dated. I’ve only been on the dining room side so I can’t really speak for the bar side. For a small looking place on the outside, the dining room was very large and looks capable of accommodating a party of any size. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. The service can be a little slow because the wait staff covers both sides of the place(I think) but it really wasn’t too much of an issue since we weren’t in a rush to leave. They also seem to be a little chatty among themselves but this isn’t an upscale Manhattan restaurant so it wasn’t a big deal. Now for the food. The menu had a huge selection of food including tasty sounding specials but each time I go there I find myself ordering the same thing, fried calamari appetizer(order the half if you are eating it by yourself because a whole order is a lot) and baked penne w/ricotta for dinner. The first time I went there the waitress recommended ordering anything in the red sauce because it’s delicious and she was 1000% correct. The portion was huge(felt like they gave me a pound of pasta). The pasta was cooked perfectly, the ricotta was creamy and delicious mixed in with the gravy and penne and it was topped with melted mozzerella. Each time I go there I always see someone order a pizza and it looks so delicious. They have a really good sounding shrimp scampi pizza that I want to try. The prices are extremely affordable and the portions are huge and delicious. Great place to take a family or looking for someplace to come for a bit to eat. Also, on Friday nights(when we go), they have live entertainment. It’s usually this older gentleman playing covers of classic songs. Not the best singer but enjoyable background music(figure i’d mention this). I don’t know how anyone could give this place a bad review.

I don’t get the rave reviews. Honestly its old, usually empty and while the portions are substantial(more on that) its OK not great. I think its pretty pricey for what they serve. Portions? Yes, was served a heaping plate of food– but could hear the old man owner literally yelling in the bar area about how the kitchen is giving his food away and he can’t make money. Jeez real proffesional pops.

I love this place, its family orientated resturant with friendly servers. i have taken my family there quite a few time and also had food catored from there for my parents anniversary. good sensible prices that make you keep coming back. they have the best calamari, im a big fan of calamari and their calamari was tender and crispy, also they dont serve the tentacles of the squid which is a plus. Their wing dings are also good too… i had a few entrees there which did not disappoint. a very pleasurable dining experience.
