Mona Lisa Pizzeria

I have ordered from here before without any issues and hate giving negative reviews but my latest experience was pretty bad. I ordered a Chicken Francese wrap and I’m not exactly sure what was actually delivered. it was some kind of chicken wrap but it definitely wasn’t Chicken Francese. I ate just about ½ of it and immediately felt sick. I ended up… getting sick… about 20 mins later.

I order from here 2 times. Both times it was a pie and 2 orders of wings. The wings arrived cold the first time, but they tasted good so I said I’d give them a second shot. Second time she told med 30 – 45 minutes & an hour and a half later my cold wings arrived with my warm pizza. Why are your wings always cold. It’s a shame because they taste good. I called to complain and was not offered a credit or fresh wings. If I wanted to put wings in the oven to heat them up I would not have paid for the convenience of someone bringing them to my house… Too bad, on to the next one.

Tried Chicken Sorrentino for the first time here. I was immediately hooked. Their cannolis are also amazing.

The pizza is good, but sometimes lacks flavor. Both my mother and I go there when we want a quick slice. On the occasion when we went there together, we both concluded the women workers are never nice and are borderline rude to us EVERY TIME.

First time to order pizza, we the special thin crust with mushrooms on top, we did like it but it didnt have enough sauce on it, i expect also it to be thinner, I also had ceasar salad, was very good

Speaking only About the pizza section, I used to enjoy ordering from them, but as of late, if had numerous problems.
In one incident, I ordered a large pie and received a personal pie instead.
In a second incident, I ordered grilled chicken sandwich with sauteed peppers and onions and received a sandwich with raw onions.
Finally, I ordered a large Margarita pizza, thin crust, extra crispy. I received a doughy, undercooked pizza instead.
As they say in baseball, strike 3, they’re out…

I have to give them 5 stars for catering. I swear, they were perfect in every way. We ordered rice balls (without meat for our vegetarian guests), eggplant rollatini, caesar salad, chicken francaise, sausage and peppers, chicken fingers (for the kids) and penne alla vodka. Their prices were excellent but the service was even more so. They delivered the food fresh, hot and on-​time, gave us rolls, butter and grated cheese for all, and even offered specialty meals for the gluten-​free guests. My guests came from all over and raved about the food. They definitely deserve a gold star for catering!

It’s good typical pizza place food. If you’re into bread cheese and sauce they got you covered.

A solid four stars. Nothing’s bad about this place. Love the rice balls and Broccoli Rabe. Pizza is good maybe not the best in town but good. Very friendly staff

Greasy pizza but who eats pizza for their health anyway. Most authentic Alfredo sauce I have ever eaten. Best of all, just about everything I order from here is consistent which I believe is the best quality a business can have. Highly recommended

This place is perfect. I’ve only tried the Pizza and it was one of the best I’ve had. The building looks very nice and clean. The staff is fast paced (because they are very busy) and yet keep a friendly attitude.
I highly recommend Mona Lisa Pizzeria and will return many more times! Can’t wait to try some of the delicious sandwiches and desserts.

Working in the area has really turned me into a Mona lover! I’m obsessed with their stuffed peppers, salads, and their wraps. They have speciality pizzas too that are pretty awesome such as the buffalo pizza and the chicken francaise pizza. So good!

I just moved into Bayonne and I was dying for a slice. luckily across the street there was a pizzeria named Mona Lisa. I looked at the specialty pizzas on display and the one that caught my eye was the baked ziti pizza. It was covered in noodles with cheese, ricotta and delicious sauce. I topped it with a little bit of Parmesan cheese and it was perfect. Gave my kid a piece to see if he would like it and he fell in love too. Now every time we want a quick bite, it’s not bk or McDonald’s, we go right for our baked ziti pizza !! And the great thing about it is that they have it every day !!

I often order lunch from here and usually there aren’t any issues and overall everything is usually great. There are a few issues that I have experienced however that have disappointed me.
I have previously gotten their shrimp and gotten ill, tasted fishy and instantly gave me a stomach ache.
Also today when I ordered delivery they sent over the wrong desert, cannolis instead of chocolate mouse. When I called to let them know they apologized and told me the driver would return shortly with my chocolate mouse and to give the cannolis to the driver. I was not pleased with this, I am not the type of person to tamper with the food but there are people that would. No reason to ask for the cannolis back unless you were planning on reselling them but why sell potentially tampered food to customers? Makes me question what else they would do…
I will hesitate to order from here again.

This isn’t my go-​to Italian place but I’ve eaten here a few times. Nothing really stood out to me or my taste buds but still good.

I just ordered a gluten free broccoli rabe and sausage pie with garlic, and I must say: this is one of the best gluten free pies I have had in a long time! The crust was actually flavorful and not like cardboard! I was disappointed because this type of pie had no tomatoes (I didn’t know that). But it was so good, I didn’t care. The staff on the phone was friendly, heck even the delivery guy! If you have gluten sensitivity, and want pizza in Bayonne, this place is a must!

The pizza is good. Love the chicken roll and the wraps. Especially like the gluten free option for my kid, who is allergic to everything except air but loves pizza.

I used to order from ML about 3 times a week to either my office or my home, but since I received my soup with a cigarette in it (yes, they even came back and saw it for themselves and to which they replied «we’re so sorry, do you want a new soup?). And another time I got my wrap with a huge piece of hard plastic inside.
No more!

I LOVE Mona Lisa! I have never had a problem with their food or service. I often get delivery, but even when I do dine in, I never have problems with their service.
My favorite food their is their buffalo chicken. I can honestly say that if it wasn’t so unhealthy, I could eat it every day for lunch. The name is a little deceiving because it is more of a chicken francese and not very spicy. Despite the belying name, it is one of the most delicious pizzas I have ever had. But you may only need one slice because it is very heavy and will make you just want to curl up and fall asleep. Lastly, they have a mean chicken caesar salad that I would definitely try if you are looking for a healthier option.
The service in the restaurant is pretty average, nothing spectacular. The food comes pretty quickly and the waiters and waitresses are nice. It is a good place to take kids on the weekends.
All in all, Mona Lisa is a great place to go if you are looking for a casual environment with that old Italian feel and great food!
