Sarku Japan Teriyaki & Sushi Express

I’ve been going to this location for years, and the quality has definitely taken a major slide. First, the chicken itself has much more cartilage and gristle in it than it used to. Now everytime I get the chicken teriyaki I’ll find myself spitting out a mouthfull of food because I’m chewing on something that shouldn’t be in my food. Also, they overcook the chicken all the time. It comes out dry instead of tender and juicy. Other locations are better

If you’re a regular shopper at the Bay Shore (Westfield) Mall, then you have seen this place many times on the corner of the food court next to Subway. The décor is very nice and bright red with a lot of stainless steel. The food is just as great as it was before. But… (come on, there’s always a but!) they now have sushi!!! Don’t go expecting something from Aji because it’s not! On a scale of 1 – 10 I give their sushi a 7 because they just started making it there and I’m sure they will improve with time. I still love the huge portions of the food they make on the flat grill. I don’t know what the other reviewer is talking about regarding the «gristle», etc. I guess he pissed them off? Who knows?!
Anyway, I don’t eat breakfast when I go to the mall because I know that one carry out container of their rice with veg and choice of meats will fill me up enough until dinner! Awesome place! (just give them a chance on the sushi!)
