This place is adorable and cozy! Love the couches, very comfortable atmosphere, we only came for dessert this time but I’ve been here many times and the food is always delicious. I got the iced hazelnut, peanut butter and vanilla cappuccino and we split the smores fondue… you can never go wrong with smores! The cappuccino was also very good and you can get it iced or hot. The smores was big enough to easily serve 3 or 4 people, we had plenty of leftovers and it’s reasonably priced. The waitress was nice but not very attentive and they also had live music which was pretty good, a little loud for such a small place though!

Nothing to rave about. Came her on a date with my girlfriend because she has been hear before and i heard the décor was nice. When we walked in we were seated immediately. We came on a random wednesday so it was not that busy, yet we waited at least 15 minutes for a server. As we waited for our appetizer and drinks, it got busier. They only had two servers. Eventually as we got our food, my girlfriend asked for a water. The waitress never came back after 10 minutes, i had to go up to the bar and they asked me what table i sat at. Then my waitress came over and apologized. Overall 2.5−3, pretty expensive. Food is good and coffee and dessert it good too. Appetizer: Spinach and Artichoke dip Meals: two burgers Dessert: Cheesecake-7 bucks a slice expensive as heck Two cups of cappuccino

TERRIBLE service. The waitress also had an attitude. I had to ask to have my water refilled twice. No one comes around to fill your cup. They cannot accomodate large groups and should make that clear before taking reservations. I will not be going back. I was very dissappointed. This was my first time there and I won’t be going back. Food is decent but not worth the attitudes of the staff and long wait for food.

I visited Milk and Sugar Café on a rainy weeknight evening, in need of a coffee before a long drive home. I ordered a cappuccino creation with chocolate, almond and coconut and it was almost too sweet to drink. I would recommend sticking to the normal coffee menu(if you’re not a fan of cloyingly sweet desserts) so you can more easily control the sugar levels. The atmosphere was so cute(minus the weird smell upon entering). I especially loved the couches, mismatched chairs, and fireplace. Maybe I caught them on an off night. Maybe I didn’t order the right drink. Either way, I thought it was A-OK.

Heard a lot of great things about this place so came in for some coffee and dessert. It’s a cute places with some tables and some armchairs. We were seated in some armchairs by a fireplace… And then we waited and waited. We waited a good half hour before anyone acknowledged us. It wasn’t busy, maybe 3 other tables. And we heard a pretty ugly argument between a staff member and a customer. I get customers can get annoying sometimes but should you really be yelling at one in the middle of the restaurant making it thoroughly awkward for everyone? Our waitress finally came by(and didn’t apologize for the wait) and we ordered a double mochacino, biscotti and a peach tea. Got our order and the waitress said she was going to be right back with some sugar… Never came back. Good thing my tea didn’t need sugar. Mochacino was too small, tea and biscotti were ok. So we waited for the check… And waited and finally asked a busboy for the check. Threw down some cash and left. Never to return again. Just not worth it.

This is an adorable place. I’ve never been in something like this. They had couches you could sit at, and cute wall hanging decorations all around. We came here for dessert which I was pleased about, their prices were good as well as the dishes we ordered. It’s a perfect spot if you just want to meet up in a quieter place with someone. The lights are also dim which sets a calmer mood. I loved the environment and everything about this place!

The place is a bit outdated. I went inside at night so maybe it would’ve looked better in the daylight. It is cozy inside, nice and quiet. The drinks are very unique and tasty. I ordered the Chocolate Almond and Coconut Creation, very good! For dessert I ordered the towering chocolate madness which is pretty much just a piece of chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, it was also pretty good.

Came here for the first time with my boyfriend yesterday. The atmosphere is very quaint, but it is a little dimly-lit. I would say this place definitely has a lot of potential, but I truly cannot comment on the food or service because we only got coffee to go. As far as the coffee goes however, it was cheap and pretty delicious. Nothing fancy, just a simple house blend cup of coffee. We got two larges and and it came out to $ 4.24. Would definitely return for their coffee; not sure if I would ever want to sit and order food based on other reviews though. As far as our to-go coffee experience goes, it was quick, cheap, and delicious. Four stars for that.

The food is ok but the service is so painfully slow it ruins the whole experience. The décor and setting are great, and if you have time to sit and be there forever it great. If you’re in a hurry then don’t do it.

Milk and Sugar is a solid breakfast and lunch spot on the south shore of Long Island. The old décor of the place makes you feel like you’re your eating at your grandmothers house. The grilled chicken panini and the crab leg sandwich are some of the dishes that are out of this world. The street parking might be a little difficult in the weekdays due to the offices and other business that are located around the restaurant. If you’re around south shore Long Island and want to grab a bite Milk and Sugar is a place that sure wont disappoint you.

I liked this place(five years ago — once)…So I’ve come back 3 times since and it’s been bad each time… but because of my first good experience I somehow thought the bad visits were the fluke… not so much unfortunately… Tuna Salad… missing ingredients. overdressed…wilted lettuce and huge chunks of tuna(which once sliced thinly were actually fresh) …I didn’t read the Unilocal reviews prior(shame on me)! but now that I am, I see they say EXACTLY the same thing I just experienced… except my waiter was nice… and embarrassed I think when I asked if he ever read the Unilocal reviews… he had !

Popped in this past weekend and tried breakfast. Very unusual setting but I can see how some would like it. For me, Id prefer to sit at a table instead of the couch seating environment. Overall it was OK. My omelet was missing one of the main ingredients which sucked. I was in a rush and didn’t want to bother with complaining and having to wait for another order. My wife ordered pancakes(i think stuffed), with fruit. That was pretty good. The drink menu rocks. There were so many types of cappuccinos to try, but I ended up changing at the last second to a frozen hot chocolate with marshmallows. The drink had potential but was really lacking chocolate. If it had more, it would’ve been great as the chocolate seemed almost absent. 2.5−3 stars, mostly on potential. may or may not come back.

Overall, this place has an interesting concept that gives off a very homey vibe. The set-up feels as if you are in the living room of an old friend or family member. Instead of traditional restaurant tables and chairs you are greeted by seating arrangements that you might find in the home of a family member. I have been there a few times and although I do enjoy the concept, it’s hit or miss when you get seated. Quite frankly, some of the«tables» are a nuisance. You are either seated at a table that leaves you awkwardly distant from your the person you are dining with or you are seated at a table that leaves you hunched over while you are trying to eat your food. As for the food, the sweet potato fries along with the sauce it comes with are delicious and addicting. The burgers are slightly above average and the ravioli is above average as well. The staff is friendly but not very attentive. In my numerous times eating there it always seems that you have to get the attention of the waiter/waitress whenever you need something. Maybe it’s because there are busy doing other things but you very rarely see them come around to check on the patrons to make sure that everything is okay. The past few times we’ve dined there, we’ve had to ask the other waiter’s/bus boy for things such as more water or the check as our waiter was nowhere to be found. Definitely do not come here if you are on a tight schedule. Overall, this is a fairly enjoyable place that could definitely improve with a more attentive wait staff and some more appropriate seating.

So upset. Used to come her often several years ago and the food was excellent. However, my husband and I stopped herr for lunch today(a saturday afternoon) and unfortunately, we will never go back. I will say that the food was fresh, but poorly executed, and the service was awful. After they sat us we waited 20 minutes before we had to flag the hostess down for a waiter, to which she said ok, but appeared to be annoyed that we asked. My husband wanted to leave at that point, but I insisted on staying(because of how I remembered it used to be.) I should have listened to him. We ordered the crab and tuna tower for an app. We removed the crab be caused it was very fishy. The rest of the tower was tasty, except the tuna was in HUGE chunks. We both ordered salads for our lunch. I got the harvest salad(this is the reason I came here). It consists of mesclun mix, craisins, roquefort(spelling?) and candied walnuts with an AWESOME raspberry dressing. Well, they forgot the candied walnuts, which adds a nice texture. No bueno. My husband ordered the ahi tuna salad. Besides the globs of pickled ginger they put in the center, yet a again, the tuna was in HUGE slices. Like you were eating sliced rib eye, but bigger. I’ve never seen anything like it. Not to mention one of the waiters was on his phone texting in the dinning room. When we left, the hostess was sitting. Lol it was just one thing after another. Unfortunately, they just lost our business.

Ok I’ve been here numerous times both for lunch and dinner. The food is so fresh and delicious. The portions are BIG. They have a big selection of different specialty coffees and teas which is nice for a late night stop in in a colder weather. The staff is super friendly. Highly recommend this place. ~~~Natty

Well, I really wanted to like this place, but the service was horrible. We sat at the table for a good 10 minutes before anyone even came over to us. After watching one girl stand behind the counter, she dropped 2 cups of water in front of us without saying anything. The least she could do was tell us «someone would be right with you.» We just came for dessert. I got the Candy Explosion, which was chocolate cake with chocolate candies. It was good. So much chocolate I couldn’t even finish it. Lattes and cappuccinos were also good. I wanted to come back to try the food, but I don’t see that happening. Service should be just as important as the qualiity of the food. 2 desserts, 1 latte, and 1 cappuccino came to $ 25.

So after many years of wanting to come to Milk & Sugar I can finally say I’ve been. If I could give it 3.5 I would but a 3 will suffice until next time. Upon walking into Milk & Sugar it has a very quaint feel to it. It reminded me of a life size doll house living room and dining room. They have some two tops and four tops but they also have a few big wing chairs and Victorian couches you can sit on and enjoy their food. My mom and I ordered the Fondue of the day and the Pulled Pork Sliders(which was a special). The fondue was a Cheddar Ale which came with potato pancakes, blanched broccoli, grilled chicken, and toast points. The fondue was tasty but in both of our opinions it was not worth $ 25. I say this because they didn’t offer a refill on any of the above mentioned items. At least at both Toast and Melting Pot they offer you refills. Another odd note was no fondue forks were provided so we had to use our regular forks. At some point both of us became relatively full and my mom asked the waiter if he could cancel the pulled pork. He told her they were coming right out and couldn’t cancel it. No exaggeration… approximately 10 minutes later out comes the sliders. I’ve made pulled pork & I’m not sure how they do it but I’ve done it in the crockpot. This was no special order by any means so in my opinion it could have easily been canceled. All they did was put some pulled pork on a bun and stuck two pickles on top of each bun and stuck it with a fancy toothpick. I took one bite of the half of pulled pork slider I split with my mom because at this point I was full. The little bit I tasted didn’t taste good unfortunately. At this point we were ready to go and didn’t opt for dessert because we were rather peeved about the sliders and full. Maybe next time we’ll order something smaller and not so adventurous and stick to a sandwich and soup.
