My boyfriend and I ate at The Little Village the day before Valentine’s Day at 4PM(there was no other reservation time available except for 9:30PM). Needless to say, the restaurant was pretty much empty except for a few other couples. Our server, Spencer, was very attentive and courteous. He told us about the Valentine’s Day special which consisted of the ½ loaf of village bread, a salad, a surf and turf dinner(8oz lobster tail and 6oz filet), and a Sauvignon pudding desert. All for $ 75. We added roasted garlic to the village bread. The bread was fantastic and very flavorful with the addition of the roasted garlic! We also got an additional appetizer, the seared ahi tuna, since we were sharing the Valentine’s Day special. Tuna was seared perfectly and was tasty! The Caesar salad was the only disappointment of the meal. We felt that the dressing did not have a strong Caesar flavor like most Caesar dressings do. Now for the best part — the surf and turf dinner! We ordered our filet medium-rare, and it was cooked PERFECTLY with so much flavor! The lobster tail was also cooked and seasoned very well. When eaten together, the flavors complemented each other excellently. We added a side of steamed broccoli to our entrée. The dessert was very intriguing. Spencer explained that it was a combination of Sauvignon, egg whites and sugar that formed a pudding like consistency. It was very delicious and light, and served with berries and a chocolate covered strawberry. We highly recommend going to The Little Village! It’s atmosphere is very romantic and cozy — perfect for date night with your significant other! The hostesses and servers were friendly and the food was wonderful! We were in and out within an hour with plenty of time to enjoy the rest of our evening. We still can’t understand why this restaurant has a low overall rating. We had a delightful experience!

After visiting here time and time again, the service and food are both spectacular. Hands down the best steak and potatoes you will find. The hostesses are always friendly and accommodating. I thoroughly enjoy the dining experience at this restaurant.

The freeking wait time for a to go is ridiculous! Over an hour for a simple to go for two people is absurd!!! They need to get their crap together!

We ate at the downtown location several years ago and it was not a good experience. We had a gift card and have heard this location is better so we figured we would give it another shot. The only thing that was good was our waitress. The food is just nothing spectacular for the price range. I had the steak, which was ok but not very flavorful. Our potatoes were barely warm when served and the center of my salad had brown lettuce. My husband had the Osso Bucco, which he said the meat was good but the sauce on top was not. Just overall not worth the high price tag. Plenty better options in that price range in Baton Rouge.

This is my favorite restaurant, hands down! Their filet is AMAZING! No comparison to any other steak I’ve had. The atmosphere is great, service is great, and the food is delicious!

This was one of the worst meals I’ve had to endure. The staff look like they we’re all trying out for the next Walking Of The Dead movie. They just didn’t look happy or awake. Now for the food. First let me put this out, this was not a regular sevice. It was the Christmas Day service. Now that said they had a short menu for this special day. They also didn’t make this known at any point(online or on the phone when they called me). It would have been really nice to have been informed ahead of time. There was nothing on the menu that was interesting for two of the guest in our party. They could only dream of the eggplant parmesan that they weren’t having. So they we’re stuck with ordering Appetizers and bread for their Christmas feast. For myself I was in for a treat ordering their 24 ounce prime rib. How could this go wrong? But it did. Yes my $ 45 prime rib showed up rare not medium and tougher than Goodyear rubber! I really wish that it would have been better but it just wasn’t.

Been to the location downtown and it is spot on. Visited the Airline location last night and didn’t have the greatest dinner. The bread is always delish so I cant complain there. Lobster bisque was too heavy but I dipped my bread in it and called it a day. My husband’s veal sorrentino was AWESOME however I had the seafood cannelloni and as soon as a bit into it– it tasted like the sea. Now I know that seafood is bound to a bit fishy but i’ve had seafood cannelloni at Gino’s Italian in Baton Rouge and its so creamy and you cant even tell there is shrimp/crab/crawfish going on in there. This dish from Little Village was overwhelmingly fishy. I ended up bringing it home in a box for someone else in my family to try. My husband ate it the next day and said it tasted even worse. So — — wont order that ever again.

One of my favorite places for dinner. I will find a reason to celebrate something… anything…to score a meal here. Everything I have had has been excellent… chicken parm, lasagne, eggplant stack… but my favorite go to is the Filet Mignon. I call it «butter steak». I have no idea what they do to make it so heavenly… but they had better never stop or I may lose it! Of course… you HAVE to get the bread. Screw the low carb diet for one meal… you will not regret it! The service is always incredible and the staff truly cares about your experience. Go… go right now… and for the love of god get the bread!

I can’t figure out why they have such a low overall rating. I’ve been a few times now and have always been pleased. The setting as a whole isn’t as nice as downtown(probably because it’s in a strip mall with not too much around), but it’s good enough. I ordered the lasagna and my friend got a fettucini with chicken. The portions were good enough for both of us to have leftovers. I love their lasagna, nice and meaty and not overflowing with cheese. Parking is never an issue and they have very friendly servers.

I usually never write reviews, but I felt compelled after last nights HORRIBLE dinner. My daughter graduated from LSU yesterday, so we had reservations for 13. Although the waiter was friendly and curtiouse, the food was horrible. The calamari appetizers had a foul smell to them like they had gone bad and most importantly there texture was way off. The raviolis also tasted like the were previously frozen and flash fried. A couple of my guest had the fish which also was not good. It really looked exactly like the Tilapia filets that Sams sells. My wife ordered the eggplant Parmesan and she actually sent it back and did not eat. Also, the asparagus on the fillet minion/soft shell crab special tasted boiled and the crab was not fried correctly. I walked away paying over $ 500 dollars for last nights dinner and was extremely disappointed in the quality of food. Stay away!!!

I agree. I ate at the one on Airline in Baton Rouge today. The food was not at all like it use to be. This used to be my favorite restaurant, but not anymore. So sad. The bread was good, but not as good like before. Little Village has definitely changed. Too high prices and quality of food has gone down. What happened to the nice white cloth linen tables and real silverware. Service was good.

So my family decided to go here for my step fathers birthday. We got the bread. which comes with garlic and that olive stuff. no our waiter didn’t tell us that those cost extra-they just put it on the plate. The bread is really good though. between 6 people we ate the full loaf. We all got a salad. i got a caesar salad. It wasn’t anything great. my mom got the sensation salad and she loved it. So i was debating on a white sauce vs. a red sauce pasta for my meal. everyone got white sauce mostly but the waiter raved about the red sauce. so i tried the eggplant parmigiana or however you spell it. Eggplant was pretty good but i wasn’t a fan on the red sauce on the pasta. Everyone seemed to like what they got. my boyfriend got shrimp Alfredo. For dessert we got the white chocolate bread pudding. OMG it was great. seriously… so great. during the meal we had a few cocktails. Loved the raspberry lemonade martini. wasn’t a fan of the Bellini but my step brothers girlfriend liked it. i would only come back if a group asked me to go but i wouldnt have a date night or girls night here.

Our family lives this restaurant! Their marinara sauce is excellent and can be bought to take home! If pasta isn’t your thing the restaurant has wonderful fish dishes ! The wine list is excellent and has a wide selection ! We have never been unhappy with the food or service here!

I’ve eaten at The Little Village, both locations, a few times with no issues, but tonight was a little messy. We had a group of 6 ladies and sat in the bar. The bartender told us he wasn’t able to serve tables in the bar anymore and we would be waited on by a server from the dining room. It took about 10 minutes for our server, Clarence to get to us. We all asked for waters while we looked over drinks. Two waters came to the table. I had to ask twice more for water. Drinks took awhile even though there were only two other tables in the bar. Dinner went off without a hitch, minus a little spotty service, which I guess I can understand if it was a crazy busy night but it was a Tuesday… I did notice that when we ordered«the bread» it came with roasted garlic and olive tapenade without us asking, and if I remember correctly, they are both extras that we were not asked if we wanted. A good thing about Little Village is that they carry gluten free pasta, although they don’t advertise it anywhere. Food was good, drinks were good, but when I asked for my check to sneak out a little early, he ended up bringing everyone’s check, even though they were not done with their drinks and were planning on ordering more. I thought my gluten free pasta w/shrimp and one glass of wine came out to be VERY expensive(my check was for $ 38) but gave a large tip anyway and after we had signed our bills, one of the ladies said«oh, it looks like tip was already included!»… so Clarence got around $ 16 in tips from each of us because we were unaware of their party/gratuity rule. Hope you enjoyed that, buddy. So I guess my okay review is based on service, not food or atmosphere. We’ll probably be back as it’s so close to our neighborhood, but will watch out for sneak attack tips next time!

Am not a big fan of Italian but I decided to give it a try. Had the Fried Green Tomatoes because they sounded good, but what I got was not worth $ 17. I may give them another shot, but I was not impressed tonight!

Food was terrible. One star because our waiter was pretty decent, even though I asked for my salad with the red vinaigrette and received the same salad my boyfriend got sans the croutons(he ordered a Caesar). Got in 45 minutes before closing and it was clear they were ready to leave. The hostess made it a point to tell us they close at ten. When our food came, my eggplant parmesan was drenched in sauce. I had to find my eggplant to decipher where that was as opposed to my spaghetti noodles. Once I finally found the eggplant, I could hardly cut through it, they were ao tough. Like they sped through the cooking process. My boyfriend ordered a ribeye steak that was so tough he was still chewing on his first bite as we left. And the side of mashed potatoes was reminiscent of hospital cuisine. He literally left more than ¾ of that overpriced steak on the plate. No to go box. No thank you. Little village is an utter disappointment.

We went to Little Village recently and had wonderful service and a great meal! My husband got eggplant parmesan, and I got some an eggplant dish that had fried eggplant stacked with shrimp with a delicious sauce — yummyyyyyyy! Really good food, and our waiter was a very attentive young man and very knowledgeable about the menu. Really nice dining experience!

That’s a qualified 4, maybe with an asterisk. We’ve been once, a group of 4. It was phenomenal – food, service, ambience etc. But that was just once. I think that this is a place where they expect diners to not be looking to get in and out in an hour – instead, take more time with each course, etc – which may be part of the slower than expected(for some) service. Stabiler is a talented feeder of people, and aims to please. I think he may be trying to do too many things at once without the long standing staff to back him up.

We came here for Mother’s Day, with four mothers in our party. We had reservations, which meant there wasn’t a long wait for them to pull our tables together and seat us in the bar area. Lunch started with Bloody Marys and Mimosas as we looked over the special menu they had prepared for the day. Village bread with tapenade and roasted garlic(both extra) was ordered to start. That was soon followed by the Sensation salad which comes with the entrée. My wife ordered the Artic sea bass topped with lump crabmeat and a side vegetable. I ordered the lasagna topped with a red gravy. The food was good, nothing extraordinary. The conclusion of the meal was free white chocolate bread pudding for the mothers. The service was decent although it seemed slow, even taking into account the restaurant was full for the special day.

I’ve eaten here twice. First time was great, second time was a nightmare. I built this place up, and they quickly proved me wrong to my guests. My date, my childhood friend, and his date were all looking forward to a nice meal, and good conversation. We were seated quickly, and our order was taken. All 4 drinks came at different times, of 3 appetizers, one was forgotten, one was cold. After forgetting our second round of drinks, the waiter brought our food at different times. Once again forgetting 3 of the 4 orders of garlic mashed potatoes. The worst 400 $ service I’ve ever had. Will not be back since I sent an email to the manager through the website I reserved our table with, with not so much as an apology. Unacceptable food and service.
