Dave’s Pizza

Wings are average. Basic sauces. Pizza is good for thin crust. Toppings are done well. I prefer extra cheese. The Zilla is where it’s at. Bring your fat pants, its heavy. Cheese sticks are alright. Cheese bread leaves something to be desired. Doesn’t give totals on phone orders.

Really a hole-​in-​the-​wall kind of place. Inside is pleasantly decorating but nothing fancy. The place isn’t all that big.

I seriously don’t know how this place is still in business! I have eaten their food 4 times in the last 3 years & had extremely gastro-​intestinal problems for days afterwards! I thought that perhaps it was just me, however when my adult children from Chicagoland visited & my family here insisted that we go to this restaurant, even when I resisted… so we went, we unfortunately ate & as we left the restaurant, my adult children apologized to me because I was correct! We all had severe stomach problems for 3 days! Since then, I’ve met & discussed their food prep with their cooks… Nothing is made from scratch, no sausage offered because they have spices that make ground beef taste like pork!!! (WHAT??) Most of them are clean, honest workers, but there are a couple workers I personally know who are so filthy & completely scummy! No wonder I got sick from their food! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Best pizza in bartonville

Oddly enough, I feel pretty meh toward their pizza, since I’m more of a thick crust person. They will definitely load you up on toppings, though. Lucky for Dave’s, everything else they have is good! The Zilla was one of my favorite things as a kid; it’s awesome, if you don’t mind the calories. Plus, they have a good selection of things you can get elsewhere in Bartonville (Italian, burgers, wings, torpedos, fish), so it’s like an all-​in-​one, which comes in handy if a group can’t make up their mind. The fried chicken is spot on.
They’ve always been really cool about bringing in large groups, too. Plus, the service has always been friendly and efficient.
The one major downside: no credit cards.

We tried Dave’s after getting annoyed with the local Pizza Hut. Wish we had switched sonner! The ingrediants are fresh, there is no skimping on toppings, and … YUM!
