Spring Garden

They are OK. I have ordered many times over the past few years. Sometimes it’s great and sometimes not so much.

The food is nothing unique, but good for a local Chinese take-​out. The food is not too greasy, and generally has a good flavor. They are fairly prompt in there service, unless there are a lot of people, then it can take a little longer than they anticipate.

Picked up our order for two. They didn’t give us duck sauce! I love it on my fried rice, which wasn’t that great. We ordered combination platters for dinner. We both ordered Chicken Teriyaki with it, which did not look like or taste like the usual stuff you get elsewhere. It was pieces of un-​trimmed meat, gross. The egg foo young tasted great and the gravy did also. It satisfied my egg foo young craving and I’ll be back. Don’t forget to ask for duck sauce. :)

Worst service I’ve ever had any place. I called in the order — they said «10 minutes» and when I got there, it took them 15 minutes to even acknowledge me and then after another 30 minutes — He said «what is your order?» Didn’t even have it so I left with nothing. Place looked filthy any way.

Service was great, food was better than some but not the best ever. I had the kung Pao chicken it had good flavor and some spiciness not as much as I would like but still pretty good.

We ordered from here for my son’s birthday. All I can say is I was very disappointed. He loves beef teriyaki and what we got was their version of it and he wouldn’t touch it after the first bite. It had none of the normal teriyaki glaze you would expect, it was just bare beef on a stick with some odd flavor. Everything else was mediocre at best and all of the leftovers went untouched in the fridge until we threw them out. I always hate to give a bad review to a restaurant as I know it is hard to make a restaurant work and earn money, but I just was so disappointed by all of the food that I can’t really put a positive spin on this experience. I will not be going back to give it another shot.

I stopped for lunch takeout at Spring Garden in Barrington, NH very recently. I ordered the Lunch Combination 11: Shrimp Lo Mein ($ 5.85 plus tax) served with Pork Fried Rice & Choice of Appetizer (I chose 2 chicken teriyakis). The food was cooked promptly in the open kitchen and the order was ready in about 10 minutes.
The lo mein was a simple dish, which had cabbage, carrots, sprouts, onion, scallions, soft shrimp (most cleaned) tossed with a slightly salty broth under the soft noodles.
The pork fried rice (light brown color) was cooked just right with a soft texture and mixed with roast pork chunks (some fat pieces), sauteed onions and sprouts.
The chicken teriyaki sticks however were chewy, a bit dry inside, and charred on the outside, seems like they deep fried the chicken teriyakis in very hot oil. I would choose another appetizer next time.
Overall, the food I had was pretty decent with a good lunch portion of food and priced fairly. I would return here again if I happen to be passing by and hungry, but I would not go out of way since there are plenty of options for Chinese food in my travels.

Don’t bother. You will get home with your food and want to throw it away. It’s that bad. It’s really really greasy and not in a good way. This place should be avoided. Seriously, spend your money elsewhere.
