Just as good if not better than any Denny’s I’ve ever been to. Great eggs, great home made home fries, good pancakes. We’ve only had breakfast here but my mom liked hers a lot too. Local-yokel atmosphere. Don’t really know why this place has such a low average on here – it’s very clean and has friendly service and awesome prices.

Food is OK, nothing more. Service can be really good. if you sit in the right section. This definitely wouldn’t be my first choice but if it were my only option I would go.

Tried this place for dinner. It’s OK if you’re really hungry and have to grab a meal to ward off starvation. But I would not recommend it as a destination place for dinner. The menu is limited and it seems like many of the entrees would have to be prepared from frozen rather than fresh. Food was OK, but nothing unusually good or bad about it. A plain old plate of spaghetti is $ 10. Coffee is a whopping $ 2.09 per cup! Service was very good; waitress was friendly; food was delivered quickly; and restaurant was very clean. However, it also was not busy. If you can’t wait another minute, then stop at this place. If you can hold off a bit, there are better venues heading north or south, particularly south.

Great for a cheap inexpensive meal if you’re in the mood for food that will remind you of the elementary school cafeteria. The service was excellent, although there were only two of us In the whole place I don’t know that I’d crave this place, but I’d try something else there sometime.

We stopped in for breakfast on July 4th. I expected it to be busy as it was a holiday but what we experienced was worse than I could have imagined. The dining room probably sat 75 people or so, however there were only two servers working plus a bus girl who I suspect was also working in the kitchen. We had to wait for a table even though there were four empty tables available. When the server finally told us to «sit over there» as she walked past, we were directed to a table that had not been wiped off. There was a bar towel on the table so I wiped it off myself. 15 minutes later the server arrived with menus and wiped off the table again. She took our coffee order, brought mine promptly but the decaf had to be made. The coffee was good. When she brought the decaf we made sure that we placed our order immediately. It seemed to me that the kitchen was staffed better than the dining room because the food was delivered in a reasonable amount of time. Unfortunately it was not prepared as ordered. Bacon was undercooked, my eggs were also undercooked. French Toast was mediocre and what was promised on the menu to be «Maple Syrup» was a cheap brand of mapleish flavored pancake syrup. The beans also appeared to be from a can. My breakfast, two pieces of French Toast, Two Eggs, Two pieces of bacon, small bowl of beans.(I ordered this ala carte but the server suggested a combo. I paid $ 12.67 for this) My companions breakfast, two pieces of French Toast($ 4.99) Four pieces of bacon($ 2.79). Two coffees.($ 2.09 each) Total with tax $ 26.85. I tipped 20%. The only reason I rated as high as I did(two stars) was because the servers were pleasant and the coffee was good.

One star? «Not sophisticated enough for my tastes?» Seriously… I’m there 3 days a week. I take clients. G&P is a neighborhood restaurant that does things right. There are no white linens or candles on the tables. There is no hostess to great you. And it can get really busy, because locals, bikers and returning tourists know it’s a good, safe, clean place to eat. So what’s so great? Best clam chowder I’ve had, home made. Excellent baked hams(grilled ham and cheese is a perfect $ 5.00 sandwich.) Menu is solid straight across the board. ALSO one of the only places I know that consistently serves fried tripe. Wait staff takes no grief, but you shouldn’t be giving them any unless you expect to get it back. This is the kind of place that McDonalds put out of business years ago… fast, convenient, clean… and distinctive. Eat there. btw, it also seems very ADA friendly, with a nice ramp, accessible bathrooms and easy access all around.

Just had breakfast here this morning! Very pleased with the Eggs Benedict and homefries, it is not always that you really get a decent preparation of this classic. Charming atmosphere, friendly waitress and they seem to do a great job with all meals that were coming out of the kitchen. This was our first time here, but you can believe it won’t be the last. Great Food!

Let me start with saying two stars is being generous. Myself and a group of friends went for a late breakfast and were hugely disappointed when our food finally came out. It’s not only took longer than a normal breakfast place to cook but the portion size was a joke. I ordered the good and plenty, supposedly the largest plate on the breakfast menu and left hungry, the two eggs were tiny, the home fries were over cooked and a child’s portion, will blueberry pancakes that had a handful of blueberries slapped on the top and no where else, a friend ordered the meat omelet which even after asking to include bacon in the omelet they half-assed slapped a couple pieces on top, when confronting the waitress about the issue we got nothing but attitude, not even a replacement omelet. Then the bill came, for breakfast for 4 people the bill was $ 65, what an amazing ripoff. Over priced, under-portioned, mediocre food should be there slogan.

Great breakfast food. I had a breakfast sandwich with ham and a side of homefries. Everything was great. My husband had pancakes and bacon. He loved both. No complaints here :)

This is not dining at the ritz, but it works for a quick cheap bite. I had no complaints with the service or food. When we ordered coffee the waitress said she would brew up a brand new pot for us and it would be ready in just a minute or two, can’t beat that. The menu was quite extensive with some interesting looking burgers. I was in the mood for plain old pasta and garlic bread, though it wasn’t mind blowing it fit the bill. My meal came with a small salad that was fresh and crisp, and the garlic bread was«soft crispy», the way I like it, not rock hard as you sometimes get. The place was clean and neat, I would go back if someone wanted to meet up there, but there was no super special dish or atmosphere that would make me specifically seek it out in the future.

Walked in at noon on a Saturday. Every open table was covered with dirty dishes. The waitress actually had the nerve to say, «sit wherever.» Walked right back out in less than 5 minutes. One of the regulars said, «see you later» to our backs. I highly doubt it.

A friend chose to meet for lunch at this local yokel favorite. As if the kooky name wasn’t unholy enough, the actual dining experience was just a bit too unsophisticated for my tastes. Why did I get the feeling like the people at the table next to me were going to light up a cigarette? The Good & Plenty offers a menu teeming with delights that one would find in restaurants closer to the Boston area, however, their décor is kitschy. I felt like I was in a plastic replica of Friendly’s, only with prices for filet mignon. I ordered a Monte Cristo Sandwich; my friend got an open-face turkey sandwich. My sandwich was served with a hermetically sealed sample tub of imitation maple syrup. Interesting. $ 25 for lunch for 2. I have long avoided the G & P because it is directly on my way home from work every day. As far as I’m concerned, if it’s close to home, it can’t be too good. Now that I have stopped there once, I won’t need to stop again.
