The restaraunt is so slow that I am amazed they try it at all. I get the impression they cook each order to completion as they have told me that after 40 waiting for my meal that there are still a few in front of me. Finally got the order. The wheat toast is now white. The cheese in the omlet tastes like cheese wiz. Had to find my own stick stir for my coffee as utensils took ½ hour to come. The hotel is a little on the rude side as we were warned that if there were any strange odors they will charge us $ 500. Sheesh, they make us feel like they are doing us a reluctant favor by letting us stay here.

The hotel itself is an old Best Western that needs serious updating in the rooms. Our room, Room 206, had nasty water stains on the ceilings, and an obvious patch from having a pipe leaking. The two queen beds in the room did not match at all –one was way too hard(sleeping on the floor would have been the same), and the other was alright, but both need replacing. The food in the restaurant was edible, but lacked flavor. The waitress was VERY sweet, though. Rest assured, next time, I will stay in Marquette or even the casino hotel before stating there.

Average run of the mill hotel here. Service was fine, but a little absent. Pool and sauna were nice, but the hot tub was a little suspect. The room was spacious but a little dated. Nothing amazing and nothing bad. The only real complaint I had was the housecleaning wasn’t really that great. Very slow at their job, and didn’t really seem to clean much and don’t replace anything we ran out of in the bathroom.

This is not a high end Marriott, however it was very nice. The room was comfortable and very clean. I read the poor reviews and did not experience any of what they did. I only had one breakfast and it was the oatmeal. I can’t comment on the restaurant as all I had was the oat mealy and it was just that, oatmeal. The pool and hot tub are nice. The sauna needs to be hotter so you can create more steam. Overall I had a good stay. Not sure where else you’ll stay in Baraga. I had coworkers that left the casino hotel and came here after one night there.

Terrible. Writing this review from the hotel room in the same building as the restaurant I’m reviewing. If you’re reading this because of the hotel, it is okay, it’s a hotel. There are cheaper equally as clean hotels/motels in the area that I will probably try out next time. I went here once for dinner and got a fish sandwich, it was okay. Lots of cheap GFS type ingredients. Like somebody already said, dinner rolls are terrible. But at least on my first visit I had edible food and a nice, younger girl as my server. Went back the next day for breakfast. Food quality diminished quite a bit… service quality was nonexistent. While traveling for work, I need ORIGINAL documentation or I can’t get paid for my expenses. I’m not too picky, I’m not demanding, and I usually tip well… I’m not a bad customer. When I requested my receipt from the older of the two waitresses I’ve had here, she flipped out. Gave me a whole story about how she can only give me copies of my receipt, not the actual receipt. She yelled at me, complained to nearby customers, and finally, gave me my receipt after making a copy for herself. Which was all I wanted in the first place. I kept my cool during the ordeal, calmly explained my situation. And eventually it was resolved, albeit with quite a bit of embarrassment and unnecessary drama. I was staying here again two weeks later. And, crediting the last experience to a bad day or who knows what, gave it another chance. This time I requested the receipt as I placed my order with the same waitress who had put up such a fight before. I just noted, calmly again, that I needed an original receipt. This time she didn’t hold back. She slapped her arms down, stepped back, and yelled, «WHODOYOUEVENWORKFOR?! THISISGOODENOUGHFORALLTHEOTHERTRAVELERSWHYYAWANNAGET A RECEIPT!!!» Mind you, I wasn’t alone in this restaurant. Again, this was embarrassing and I just stood up and left. The food is mediocre at best and the service is certainly not worth it. As Barbara H. said in her review, «it’s a small town». But if you want good food, service, and prices, try Java by the Bay, Irene’s Pizza, or the Hilltop Restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

The only reason this place got a 2 star is because the beer was good. Had the ribs, which were recommended, and we’re edible, but 1 star. The pizza my son had was 3.5−4. The rolls were seriously the most atrocious dinner rolls I’ve ever had. It’s a meal but no more.

Great view and nice clean rooms. Our dinner was so so but it’s a small town and I think they did the best they could. Nice clean pool and sauna area and after a day on Lake Superior it was very welcome. Friendly welcoming staff.

It’s kind of the older crowd’s hotel. I’ve stayed here a few times before. Definitely nothing special, but in general it does the trick. The restaurant wasn’t as good this time around as it usually is. The girl forgot to give us all our soups with dinner as well as any refills and we were missing parts of the night’s special as stated on the board. One good thing, we did see them purchase fish off a boat, fresh, so nothing frozen that way. Just how my great gramps used to do it at the Cabin he had. As for the hotel, it is lake/bay front, and has nice views. Our room key didn’t work at first, which was a pain, the beds are so hard it was difficult to sleep, but after 10 hours driving I could sleep on the floor and be excited.
