Not just one of the best burgers you’ll ever get from a chain but one of the best burgers you’ll ever get period. The fries smothered in shack sauce are to die for as well.

Dinner Time ^_^ I came here on a whelm after grocery shopping and i’m glad I did. I’ve been here before and wasn’t impressed however, I decided to give them another try. I ordered the shack burger with fries. The total came to $ 8 and some change. The cashier was very attentive, he was focused on the customer which I love. The whole process took about 10 minutes or so; they make your food right there. The inside is nice and clean, they have menus on the wall to see what they have to offer. The presentation of the food was amazing! The littlest things has an impact on me, the bag was super cute and how they presented your food inside the bag is easy accessible – just pull the tray out and you’re ready to eat. The burger was good, it wasn’t greasy like five guys, I actually thought I was eating a healthy burger lolol. The fries was just right crispy and filling. I will definitely come here again.

Despite quite a crowd on a busy MLK holiday, we got to the front of the line pretty quickly, found a table easily and didn’t have to wait too long to pick up our order. Mostly, I want to say that the new chicken sandwich is fantastic. The breading is more like fried chicken breading than what you’d find at McDonalds or other fast-food places, which are heavier. Everything else was great, as usual. I love the super soft potato bread. Great option for lunch if you’re going to the aquarium or somewhere else in the Inner Harbor.

This burger is amazing! I’ve tried the other places — the ones that others think are the best, but they are weak in comparison to this piece of delicious, perfect beef. I don’t know if it’s the Angus beef, the lack of hormones and antibiotics or their blend of meat, but it’s the king — A #1 burger! I can recommend the double ShakeBurger, medium, with cheese, lettuce, tomato and the special Shake Sauce. It sounds so simple, but transcends into the sublime — the flavor cannot be overstated. The fries are perfectly cooked and if you are lucky enough to hit this place up in BMORE, you got Old Bay on with the condiments! You can always get the cheese sauce, which is good, but a bit gas station nacho cheesey — not bad, but not everyone’s favorite. They tell me the shakes are good too! Highly recommend!

3.5/5.0** We came here because shake shack is always a safe bet. Fast and tasty burgers with good service. And it is always nice when shake shack doesn’t have a long line, so we couldn’t say no. Ordered the shack stack and the burger is somewhat filling. It’s a small burger and I could easily eat 2 burgers. It came with a patty, fried portobello mushroom, lettuce, tomato and cheese. The house sauce on the sandwich was amazing! The Flavors all really work well together. If I could change something about shake shack, it would be their potato bun. The buns really keep this place from a five. There’s no butter on the buns or anything special and the bun can’t hold all the contents of the burger together. Also ordered one of their seasonal milkshakes(sugar cookie — it was the recommendation from the cashier) and it was very tasty! THe consistency of the milkshake wasn’t runny and kept its texture for 45 mins after our meal. The sprinkle cookie bits in the milkshake added a nice crunch to it. Overall, the milkshake was a little too sweet for me, but I would definitely recommend you try it though. The crinkle cut fries are pretty solid. There’s a nice crunch to it but the serving size was pretty small. We shared one order, but we saw other parties where people each got their own fries. For the price of the burger and patty, it’s a little expensive considering how small the gourmet burgers are. If you’re too afraid of trying any other family owned restaurant in Baltimore, This place is a safe bet to satisfy your cravings.

Got the smoked single burger and crinkle cut fries for a little over $ 10 after tax. I did not get a shake but maybe next time. The burger was delicious and had tasty red peppers and bacon. Fries were good but not as good as five guys for the price. Service was fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean. There are so many burger places nowadays for you to choose from which is good because I love hamburgers. I only gave it three stars because it is a little pricey in comparison to some of these other places. Maybe I would give it more stars if I actually had a shake.

Solid option for fast food, though not sure why there’s such an avid following. Burgers are ok, nothing special, sort of salty. Fries are crispy. Love the outdoor seating when the weather is warmer.

We’ve eaten at Shake Shacks all over the country, whenever they have a short enough line, and are just so happy to have a closer option! This is the size burger that I want — not overwhelming, not structurally un-sound. Great flavor, great grilled crust, perfect bun, delicious and unobtrusive sauce. I love the fries, though D is a little less enthusiastic — they’re just the right amount of crunchy. We really like the custard calendar and often plan to stop by for different flavors. The apple pie concrete was a particular favorite, and the holiday sugar cookie was excellent — no chemical aftertaste, just real flavor!

When I lived in NYC Shake Shack was a big treat that we would indulge in once in a while on the UES. Having spotted this location during a Baltimore trip, I knew we’d have to make a stop. The prices are just as pricey as I remember, but that didn’t stop us from grabbing some burgers. We ordered a regular double cheeseburger and a vegetarian portobello, a side of fries, and a peppermint holiday shake. Maybe it was the holiday weekend, or the time of day, but that staff was not having it. Generally cranky and taking their time, we waited over 25 minutes to grab our burgers to go. At that point I almost wanted to stay and have them there. Upon receiving our order, we received a lukewarm and melted milkshake, which we sent back(leaving us to wait another 10 minutes for them to remake it). And then arriving back home we realized they had forgotten add ons that we had paid for. In general, I’m glad I got my Shake Shack fix, but I won’t be visiting this location again.

I got a burger, fries, and a small shake for $ 16. Not only is the food unhealthy, the prices are too. And honestly, the taste wasn’t worth that price.

When I lived in NYC I absolutely loved going to Shake Shack but maybe only because of the outdoor location I frequented. This location and service was less than average at best. I went around 9:00 pm on a Tuesday so it wasn’t busy at all. In fact, it was slow and so was the service. It took almost ten minutes to get our food and for some reason they don’t give you your drinks at the time that you order but make you wait for your food. I found that to be odd… especially with drinks like beer and wine. I like to drink my alcoholic beverages prior to eating like an appetizer but that wasn’t an option here. When we did receive our foods the fries were like warm at best. The o my redeeming quality, they have Old Bay to sprinkle on the fries!!! Also we were there closer to closing time and yet the place was not very stocked… they were out of knives and spoons… how do you eat your shake without a spoon and how do you cut your burgers without a knife? I would also like to see more environmentally friendly utensils if possible — compostable utensils and cups would definitely bring me back!

Excited to check the place out after all the hype since the store opened, however I wasn’t as shocked as I thought I would be. I ordered the shroom burger, which is there veggie fried portobello sandwich as well as a side of fries. I got my order to go and thought the way they prepare if for take out was cute, yet not very functional. The bags not able to fully close and keep the heat of the food in. As far as the meal, it was delicious! However with the price I payed I expected the cheese to be slices melting off of a larger sandwich; not velveeta! I did like that they offered old bay to season their fries with, nice Maryland touch. The main disappointment was the portion size, for the price. I realize they were probably accurate portions for the type of food, however this is America and if I am paying double the price of a supersize meal, I want my money’s worth!

Underwhelming, overpriced, and undersized Finally went here after it opened months ago to super tons of hype, just to see what it was all about. Turns out, not much. Gone are the huge lines — we walked right in and ordered immediately at dinner time on a Thursday. I got a bacon burger($ 6.50 for a single) and regular sized shake($ 4). The shake was ok, really more like ¾ cup of melted chocolate ice cream with some brownie bits than an actual milkshake. The burger was standard fast food fare — tasted a lot like a Wendy’s burger but without the delicious lettuce and tomato and veggies that come standard on those. My friend got the fries and they looked and tasted pretty much like Ore Ida wrinkle fries. Not worth the hype imo

So the last time I went to NYC, my sister and I dropped into Shake Shack and we loved our meals! Burgers were delicious, fries were crispy and the milkshake was sooo good. Since then Shake Shack in DC has always been on my list to visit, but lately I’ve been staying local. So imagine my excitement when I found out that Shake Shack opened a location right on the Baltimore Harbor! Bookmarked it on Unilocal immediately and I finally made it to Shake Shack yesterday! I ordered a single Shack Burger, side of fries and a lemonade! We placed our orders and we were given pagers, which really allows things to be organized and you don’t have to constantly listen for your number or name. You can grab your condiments, find a seat and chat it up. Nobody can miss the buzzer going off on the table. So the highlight of my meal was definitely the fries! They were crispy and hot. All I needed was ketchup. My friend had cheese over her fries and of course I had to taste a fry covered with cheese. Delicious too. Our Shackburgers had potato buns(don’t quote me), roma tomatoes and lettuce. The first thing that struck me was that the burgers were small. My friend said she would probably be hungry after we finished. The buns were also really soft, and combined with hot cheese and mayo it got too mushy for me. The burger itself wasn’t very flavorful… don’t like to waste food but I was not enjoying this burger at all, so I didn’t finish it! Service was great and someone even came to clear our table, which is a nice touch. Overall sooo disappointed in this Shake Shack location. I don’t eat burgers often so I would have been better off going to Five Guys. I have to take off two stars because I felt it was overpriced and overall because I didn’t enjoy the burger– which is a pretty big deal. I would return here only for fries and custard!

The burger hit the spot. They come medium. It reminds me of In-N-Out. Californians rejoice. The fries were tasty, but not the best I’ve ever had. Just okay. Their shakemeister beer is good! I love that they had their OWN brew to offer. They run out of shake flavors(sad but true) and so I was unable to get the chocolate malt I wanted. The cashier recommended the black ‘n white shake, which was just vanilla custard mixed with chocolate syrup. Got it as a malt but it just wasn’t the same. Meh. The cashiers were very nice, super helpful and sweet, gave recommendations when asked. I do appreciate that. The facility was super duper clean, despite how many people were obviously coming in and out all day! Busy, busy! Someone called this spot the Chipotle of burgers. I can see why. The code for the bathrooms is on the bottom of your receipt, and it will match all the other receipts around that same order time as well.

So shake shack to me was pretty good the first time I had it in NYC. It’s expanded quite a bit since then, saw it in Vegas, heck here is one in Baltimore. This location just feels like a fast food chain, similar to elevation burger yet not bad like mickey ds or bk. The burgers were made fresh but i do feel the patties were frozen sitting there for a while lol. So the postive side is… they are real beef. Pricey, average tasting, nothing out of the ordinary, but good for fast food. The service and staff are awesome here.

This place is definitely a nice addition to the downtown/inner harbor district. I’m sure tourist and area employees love it. I, however, am on the fence. Its more expensive than Five Guys, which is across the street. Other than a nicer seating area/ambiance what am I paying for? The burger was good but not anything to write home about(did I mention I am from California, home of In N Out?); the toppings are limited, which is cool if you’re not a topping whore like myself. The lemonade was sub par at best. With a Chick-Fil-A next door there’s just no reason to do it and as another Unilocaler mentioned it was the size of a child’s cup(forgive my gluttonous Americans, ways but I need more beverage). Finally, while I love a crinkle cut fry over all other cuts(except maybe curly) they were just ok. Nothing beats the taste of a fresh cut potato! It is called Shake Shack so when I go back I’ll try one, but I’m not breaking my neck or my pockets to get back. If you have the time head down to Federal to Abbey’s or over to Kooper’s in Fells point. For a similar price you an get a gourmet burger. I guess I’m not on the fence lol

I’ve been hearing about Shake Shack for years, so I was very happy to hear that Baltimore was getting one. Determined to understand the hype, I was anxious to try Shake Shack’s burger and of course the shakes. I opted for the single hamburger(since I hate American cheese) with everything on it — tomato, lettuce, onion, pickle and the shack sauce. I was pleasantly surprised by how fresh and tasty the burger was. Despite the massive line of customers, my burger was perfectly assembled and ate very cleanly. The meat patty didn’t taste pre frozen, and the beefy flavor prevailed. I was also impressed with how the burger wasn’t greasy(relatively speaking, like that crap at Five Guys. To be honest, I have had Shake Shack a few times since, and I’ll admit I’m a little obsessed. It’s probably for the best there isn’t one in Hunt Valley. The peanut butter and vanilla concrete was also absolutely delicious. Glad I shared it though, as it was very rich. I also like how Shake Shack embraces the local specialty of the area in which the restaurant is in. For example, the cheesy old bay fries in Baltimore and when I ate at Shake Shack in Chicago, they used Publican sausages for their hot dogs. Also impressive is their red and white wines are by Frog’s Leap, a well respected winery in Napa Valley. I can finally understand the hype now and I must say I think SS is better than Inn and Out burger, or any other fast food burger chain for that matter.

Shack Shake now in Baltimore! This Shake Shack has prime real estate just across from the Inner Harbor water front on Pratt St. Though it looked extremely busy on a Saturday, the line moved quickly and food turnover was actually really efficient! The cheeseburger is tasty and the crinkle fries were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. Of course, as locals we had to dump some old bay on the fries… amazing! I do prefer Five guys burgers to Shake Shack but overall a great experience!
