Loved the crab, loved the beer and loved the environment. Where we were seated was a bit dark though, so that is my suggestion. Other than that, LOVED it!

Horrible experience by our party of 8. Good and drinks were below par and the service was not the normal for our experience there.

Had the most over-priced crab cakes ever at Ryleigh’s. I don’t mind paying $ 20+ for a really good crab cake, but this one was mostly filler, and not very flavorful either. The setting and the service were fine. I’ll eventually return and try oysters and other menu items

Had Avery oysters and the jambalaya. Both tasted great. The prices were higher than I would have liked, and you have to get minimum orders of six oysters — kind of frustrating because I want to have them all. It’s pretty touristy in that the people come in wearing Baltimore merchandise and the signs are all clean and kitschy but not disgustingly so. I would definitely come back for happy hour during the week — not otherwise.

Great spot for lunch. The seafood is fresh. We had raw clams and oysters. The lobster roll was so good I forgot to take a pic. Sorry Unilocal all I had left was a plate of chips left for the photo. The crab cakes had some shells in it so only 4 stars for that reason. The seafood and vegetable soup was delicious. Service was great. It’s a bar but still good for kids.

Quick service, yummy food! We ordered the crap dip and crap soup as appetizers and I ordered the seafood salad for lunch. I preferred the crap soup over the dip Parking: street parking pay at the meter with a 3 hour max. Make sure to leave your parking receipt on the dash. Ambiance: casual, a little dark and dim for my taste but it wasn’t unbearable

My friends took me here to have my first ever Orange Crush, and it was delicious! We also got a few apps — oysters, calamari and pretzels with crab dip. Oysters(from what I heard) were good, the calamari needed to be crispier and the pretzels(3 to an order) were great! The soft pretzels have a cheesy crab dip melted on top of it. The pretzels itself are warm and soft. The topping wasn’t too overwhelming, but it still had that crabby flavor. We sat at the bar, which had chalkboard paint all over it so that you can keep yourself entertained while you wait for your food/drinks. The bartender was definitely friendly and very enthusiastic

Nice place to sit outside and people watch while you eat. The food was actually pretty decent as well. Good service, shout out to Lisa.

Totally stumbled upon a freaking gem here! I was with a friend killing time until we were ready to party in Fed and after an hour of driving around to look for parking, we were starvin’ like Marvin. The service started off a little slow. We got there and learned that it would be a 45min wait, but we were invited to visit the bars for immediate seating. We looked upstairs and WIN… two open spots were just calling our names! Our waitresses were initially a tad bit aloof, but then they opened up to us and joined in our conversation, which was cool! We had the crab dip, fish and chips and the scallops. Listen guys, this place is legit. I’ve literally been dreaming about my next visit here for the past two weeks! I wish I would have tried oysters, but I was so nervous about having that be the base in my stomach for a night of partying. I’ll get them next time! LISTENLINDA… go for a visit!

All-day Monday and Tuesday-Friday from 3−7pm is Oyster Hour. $ 1 oysters, $ 5 crafts, $ 6 wines and $ 7 small plates. If there is any reason for you to visit Baltimore, stop by for this Happy Hour, it’s so worth it! With 3 locations, we opted for this spot in Federal Hill based on the positive reviews. Based on the suggestions of other users, I was glad we got there before the dinner wave because it got packed fast. Despite the menu of oysters from all over the east, we opted for the oysters that were local since they were only ones that qualified for Oyster Hour; all 3 kinds were local and delicious. After a round of local beers, we also got the pound of wings which we could have done without, they were very salty. Good service, great happy hour, Ryleigh’s is a great stop for visitors and locals alike.

We went here for the boasted crab pretzels, and were a bit disappointed. The melted cheese didn’t really go well with smeared crab sauce. I wish they had actually pieces of crab instead of the cream, at least I would be willing to pay a little extra for the crab version. We also had the crab cakes, and again were not amazed. It was average at best, tasted like store-bought. That said, seems like the place is a more of an oyster bar, so if that’s your thing, probably a good bet to try it out. We went in the morning time, and our waiter was nice and friendly, same as the staff.

I came here for happy hour and the buck a shuck is the best! Also the Calamaris here were one of the best I tasted. The shrimp was also very juicy and very fresh. I would definitely come here again! The happy hour was a very good deal.

This location made me dearly miss the Cathedral St location. I’ve only visited them both during their happy hours and since I had such a good experience at their other location I decided to come here with high hopes, with my husband in tow, on a Tuesday night for some oysters and apps. Both of us came really hungry and you know when you’re starving and everything tastes like the best thing you’ve ever had?! Well, that wasn’t the case here. My husband suggested we get 2 dozen oysters but I suggested we opt for some apps and only get a dozen oysters. wrong choice. The oysters saved the experience, because all the apps were lacking in flavor and all just a little off. The oyster fritters were the most disappointing with a breading that was nearly mushy and being a little too«bread-like». The breading was just desperately in need of flavor and with the texture of the oyster it was a disappointing mash of ingredients. The mussels and clams app was sitting in a sauce which seemed to me like a watered down tomato soup that also needed flavor. The little pieces of bread that accompanied the dish were slathered in butter and rock hard. Lastly, the calamari was served with a sriracha mayo sauce which didn’t do the calamari any justice. It sort of dragged the dish down and made it even heavier. It would have been better with the traditional marinara. It was meh. The presentation needs help here also. I’m wondering how the two locations can be so different in quality. I would suggest only getting the oysters for happy hour and I mean only the oysters! That’s what they’re known for and apparently the only thing they do well in. I might return to try their regular dishes to see if I can redeem this underwhelming experience. On the other hand, our server was nice and the atmosphere was cool. We were there from 3:30 to 5 and it was pretty dead, so if you want to miss the crowd come early. It started to fill up by the time we left. It might have a cozier feel at night when the lights are dimmed and there’s a bigger crowd. If you’re looking for something cheap and fresh, come for the oysters but beware of any other HH offerings!

1.5 stars I have had a positive experience at this place before and brought a few relatives for a late lunch. Most of the food this time was just mediocre, but the positives of this experience was spoiled by the poor service. The Food: Each of us ordered an entrée for our meal. With the exception of the crab cake and oyster po’ boy, the food was mediocre throughout. Maybe our mistake was not having oysters at an oyster place. Between the 6 of us, we ordered: –Hog Island Clams(sauteed in white wine garlic broth): I had this dish and thought clams were well cooked. However, the broth was overly salty. –Beer Battered Onion Rings: Oily, limp, and sad. Order these if you want to be disappointed. –7oz True Blue Maryland Crabcake(on a roll): Crab cake was good overall. Mostly crab meat with little filling. This was definitely the best dish we got. However, at $ 29, there are much better crab cakes around in Baltimore. We also weren’t sure if the«side salad» that came with the dish was missing or was the container of coleslaw-like veggies. –Ahi Tuna Burger: I didn’t get to taste this, but my father seemed to like it. We asked for it to be cooked to a medium, but I noticed the cook on the patty was VERY uneven between the two sides. This also looked like a sandwich rather than a burger. –Fried Oyster Po’Boy: This dish was okay. The bread was a bit stale and hard. Also, the dish came with fries instead of chips like the menu said. –Seafood Pasta Diavolo(daily special): The sauce was too sweet and the pasta was definitely overcooked. Also, the description of the dish said«angel hair pasta»; however, the dish was served with linguine mix instead, not really a big deal but just inconsistent with the menu. –Lobster Roll: Your average lobster roll, nothing special. The lobster meat was saturated with mayo though. The Service: Our waitress’s attitude and service was extremely disappointing and ruined our experience. It first started when she was taking our order and ended up taking a seat with us at the table. Kind of awkward and not sure why this happened. At this point, I was okay with just brushing it off as a weird quirk. We also waited a long time for our food. I realize that our order was pretty big, but the restaurant wasn’t busy at all since we were here for a late lunch. I also noticed another waitress struggling to pour a beer from the tap. The beer was foaming too much and she ended up using a spoon to try to scoop out the foam and ended up pouring multiple cups together into one. This resulted in a gross looking display at the bar. But things started to turn bad after we got our food. We weren’t sure if the coleslaw-like veggies with the crab cakes were the«side salad» and asked the waitress if it indeed was the«salad». She was clueless about what was supposed to come with the crab cakes, what the menu said, or what the coleslaw-like veggies were. We asked if she could check with the kitchen if it was the salad or if we were missing it, and she just rolled her eyes. We didn’t hear back from her again. From there on, we had to flag her down for the check, and ask for it again when she didn’t bring it. When she finally did bring the check, she tossed it on the table. The check also had a mysterious +$ 1 charge for«supplements». Not sure what it was for and asked the waitress who said it was for«fries». We never asked to sub anything for fries. Maybe this was why the Po’Boy came with fries instead of chips? In any case, we never asked for fries supplement. Overall: The food wasn’t that bad and earns an average rating(3 stars), but the service ruined our experience here. Averaging these two, and I give Ryleigh’s Oyster 1.5 stars and rounding down to 1 star on Unilocal.I might come back for their $ 1 oyster deal, but am hesitant to do so after such a negative experience with the staff.

My good friend recommended this place when I said I wanted crabcakes for dinner. It is pretty easy to get to and we were lucky to get parking right in front. The hostess immediately sat us and we had great service throughout. We both ended up getting the crabcakes. I got the crabcake sandwich and fries. The crabcake was delicious! It is made just how it should be, very simply ingredients and fresh lump crab meat with flavor that undeniably is unique to MD crabcakes. It was a very big crabcake served on a brioche bun that was nice and sweet which complemented the crabcake. The fries were pretty good too– crisp, boardwalk-like fries just how I like them. And when we asked for old bay and vinegar, there are no weird looks in Baltimore, cuz that’s how its best eaten… obviously. This place looks like a great hangout and the crabcakes are on point. I would definitely come back the next time I’m in town!

ONEDOLLA Oyster HH. Whaaat. You can hardly beat that! BUT, it comes with a price! The other reviewers didn’t lie! The service here is quite possibly the worst! If you want anything, get used to getting up and getting it yourself else do without it. Got our own silverware, napkins and plates after asking several times. Let’s see, what else… — Beers took a lifetime and a half. — Asked for calamari, they were out. However, the people at the next table happened to get calamari??? — Ordered a variety of oysters to determine which ones we liked before ordering more. She dropped them without explaining which were which and then she had to open her(very) wet and crumbly receipt to explain them. — After waiting an eternity for our 2nd batch of oysters, the server came and asked us if we wanted anything else. Uh yea, our oysters! She brought them immediately after that and the ice was melted. The service here is a joke. The people next to us even started talking to us about how horrible she was. She knew nothing about the menu and it wasn’t like she was slammed. Went at like 3 on a Monday. The oyster deal is great but just plan on being there for awhile.

I wished I could have given them a better review but the service really brought them down. We waited for 20 minutes before anyone even approached us and we were starving and thirsty for alcohol! We ordered plenty of items off the menu but the only memorable dish was the oyster platter. These were fresh and delicious! Our bill came to about $ 520(6 people food and drinks) but I was so disappointed that they charged a 20% gratuity when we barely got any service. If you’re going to charge gratuity, at least provide quality service? Also, no music here! It’s so weird to eat in a bar where there is literally no music playing.

Came here for lunch. Delicious shrimp and grits, plenty of lobster in the mac n’ cheese! Not too heavy considering our meal choices. Great experience, would love to try the oysters the next time around!
