Crab Mushrooms appetizer had too much mayonnaise for my taste. The rest of the food was very good. It has a nice view, if you can get a table outside on the harbor side. Service could have been better. The hostess copped an attitude when we asked(for the second time, because she didn’t listen the first time) not to sit in the sun. They had just opened and there were pleanty of tables available, so it wasn’t a huge inconvenience. The food also took a while to come out.

Seriously, seafood is a part of your corporate name and this is the junk you serve? Fellow Unilocalers, do yourselves a favor and avoid this tourist trap. Find a Long John Silvers or the like and the quality of «SEAFOOD» will surely beat out Philips. Your dish at Philips will look like they unpacked a frozen dinner from your grocers freezer.

I actually liked this place better than the full Phillips restaurant next door, which we also tried during our trip to Baltimore. The guys behind the counter were very friendly and explained the difference between the two Phillips without getting annoyed. My friend and I shared the mini crab cakes with fries, which was good but a bit small for $ 7. They also sell beer and mini wines here which is nice. We took our food and sat along the water which was A+

Was forced to eat here by a torrential downpour that dissuaded us from walking over to Fells Point. The service was unfriendly and slow, the food pretty much sucked, and the prices were high for the quantity of food. And what kind of seafood restaurant, even a takeout place like this, gives you prepackaged Ken’s tartar sauce? I don’t know if there is a real person/family named Phillips still connected with this business, but if so they should be ashamed of this place.

We came here for dinner and tried to save a few bucks. It was definitely better than 5 guys. We had the fish and chips. It was pretty good for the price. Had the crab cake sandwich. A little small but it’s under $ 10. Also had the crab pretzel and crab soup. I was underwhelmed with the crab pretzel. It was cheesy and got cold pretty quick. Again we got what we paid for. Soup was eh. Would I come back? Only if there was no other options.

Two words: Crab Pretzel. That is all.

Don’t waste your money! The crabcake sandwich is TERRRIBLE but still costs an arm and a leg. Cold fries, slow service, and watery sodas only made it worse. I’ve also eaten at the one on I-95, and it’s much better than this one. MEH!

I wasn’t in the mood for another sandwich, but since I was in Baltimore I wanted to have crab cakes because that is what Maryland does! They had something like«mini crab cakes» on the menu, so I had thought it was the perfect thing that I was looking for. It took a longer amount of time than it should’ve, since we were the first ones in line, and it was terribly busy. When we opened the to-go box, we were terribly disappointed in it being 5 mini little crab balls, and a load of fries. The fries were definitely good, and I appreciated the sea salt grinder by the condiments to add a bit more flavor. However the size and amount of crab just wasn’t cutting it for what we had paid. Disappointed for sure.

We went here one time while enjoying the view of the inner Harbor. We left disappointed because it was not that good. The crab meat was shredded and tasted like something out of a can. Totally do not recommend.

Was looking for some local seafood and should have known better than to come here. Seemed like the food was made in a factory and sent here, definitely didn’t seem local. I got the seafood sampler for $ 13, which consisted of a piece or two of shrimp, crab cake, fried cod, and some asian roll, and some packaged cocktail and tartar sauce. Horribly overpriced and not worth it.

Low-end seafood prepared inconsistently, with slowish service. The Phillips franchise has spread like a blight over Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, and this place is no exception. There are much better seafood alternatives within walking distance, though, sadly, Phillips has been crowding them out over the years.

Quick and efficient, this is the take-out section(one of three) of the Phillips Harborplace in the mall there on the west side of the Inner Harbor. Pretty much no line and prices are reasonable.

Just from the line and menu prices of the Phillips restaurant next door, the wife and I kept walking in search of some lunch a little more reasonably priced and we chose Phillips Express. The food is pretty much all fried and decent. Nothing amazing and has a food court feel, but pretty affordable either way. They have a few beers to choose from as well as soda, but the food menu was pretty small. Nothing terrible, but it was not the most amazing food ever.

Swinging by Baltimore, we decided to come here to have some seafood. A dude from the main library recommended this place. So my GF had a crab cake sandwhich and I had the fried fluonder and beer. The crab cake was to die for, according to my GF. I thought the fried flounder was alright, but the beer was very good. If you are familiar with BJ’s red piranha beer, that’s the beer to get. It is good and I wish to have another one, but had to drive a while.

All I wanted was some fish and chips. Instead I got three pieces of deep fried dough and some white«fish». One piece I couldn’t eat. I broke through the brown crisp exterior and found some milky dough inside and a piece of mostly gray«fish» that wouldn’t flake at all, or even break apart. My husband’s tortilla encrusted tilapia sandwich was fine. The fries were fine. There were a lot of creative things on the menu, I wish they had stuck to two or three things and done them well. $ 8, down the trash. In a pinch, like every McDonalds was closed, and I wanted greasy bland food I would eat there again. I would’ve rather have had a hot dog. I would have given one star, but the service was very nice.

Grabbed a quick lunch here while walking around the Inner Harbor area with some family. I got the fish and chips and the fish was excellent. Slightly greasier than preferred, but the fish itself was very good. The fries were good too with a dusting of old bay on them. Definitely one of the better options to get a quick seafood lunch at the Inner Harbor area.

I heard a lot about the crab cakes while I was in Baltimore. So, I decided to try this place as the full service restaurant was crowded and the wait long. Not the atmosphere I was looking for but cheap, quick and someone tasty. A little greasier than most food I’m used to eating but good. I would try it again.

I have eaten here perhaps 3 times now. It certainly has none of the bells and whistles of the full Phillips Restaurant. The are so many advantage with this option though : 1. cheaper than the restaurant 2. quicker 3. not as tourist y, which is great. what else do you want? Though, having eaten at Faidley’s, I’ll have to say that I prefer Faidley’s big lump crabcake. Bigger pieces of crab,. but more expensive though.

I felt like a cheapskate the day I ate at Phillips Seafood Express, but I’m glad I did. It did a good job of calming down my craving for good, fried seafood. I forgot what it was called, but I had the order that included almost every fried food they served… clam strips, shrimp, fish, crab cakes, fries, and hush puppies. I was probably closer to a heart attack than before I stepped foot in the restaurant, but it was worth it. I didn’t finish everything since it’s a little overkill, but it was great nonetheless. Great alternative to the real Phillips restaurant next door.

Phillips Seafood Express is a great place to get a quick, cheap fix of seafood. Located in the Harborplace in the Inner Harbor, this is an excellent alternative to the real Phillips Restaurant, located right next door. I’ve never eaten at the real Phillips before though, so I can’t compare the two. I had a Crab Cake platter with fries and thoroughly enjoyed it. The fried had bay seasoning on them, which really hit the spot. The crab cakes were delicious, although could have been a little less fried. You order at a counter and seat yourself until your order is called, making it a quick way to get a filing meal. The only major downside is it is very fast food like, which I’m not a huge fan of. Other than that, it was a very enjoyable lunch and I recommend it if you want seafood for lunch but are short on cash and time.
