Poor service. Terrible food. The chef must be on drugs to think people will eat this dribble and then pay for it. We will not be coming back.

This is crazy we drive from Hershey pa after looking up this place on Unilocal and we get here after placing a reservation online and it’s closed. AE you kidding me? A 2 hour drive? For what? It’s not even open. Don’t waste your time

Looks like a hole in the wall, but the food was very good. I’d like to go back soon.

Nice mixture of a nice restaurant and a bar. You can have decent dinner at a sound level low enough to talk and afterwards have a beer at the bar watching Oriole’s matches. Good for groups up to 8 people. The waiters are fun but you have to understand the local jokes or take it with a wink — otherwise you might feel offended. However — I like the style! Food is good quality though once my pasta was a little over salted.

I do not understand the good reviews of this place. I’ve tried to go 3 different times at different times of the day and only managed to actually get food served to me on one of those occasions. On that one occasion it took us nearly 2 hours to get served 3 sandwiches and three drinks, pay and leave. And the food wasn’t all that special.

Came here for a quick dinner with my husband and toddlers around 6:45 left at almost 9.(Nothing quick about that) Took like 30 minutes for the drinks to come. And what felt like forever for the food to come. We ordered the crab cakes– they were just bland. Just Nasty in my opinion. The baby back rips– tasted just like ketchup. I really was excited to try the crab cakes and the great 4 star review this place has. But it was just a complete waste of time. $ 31 for crab cakes… What a rip off.

Don’t let this place fool you– someone here knows how to prepare food in a masterful way. The service is wonderful. Skip the pretentious hipsters at the Food Market. Yeah, you might have to find your own parking but this place is worth it. Trust me.

From the outside, McCabe’s looks like an über-dive. Once inside, it’s a subdued neighborhood tavern with a long wooden bar down one side and a separate dining area on the other. There’s a handful of micro– and macro-brews on tap, more in bottles, and a pretty reasonable selection of well-made mixed drinks to choose from. Clientele are a pretty good mix of folks from the neighborhood and people wandering up Falls Rd. from the shops on the Avenue. The food’s a selection of solid pub sandwiches and entrees. The crab cakes are put together well, the burgers get raves, and there’s more satisfy your hunger including a pretty solid braised beef brisket entrée and pulled pork sandwich with pickled onions. Everything’s pretty hardy. The staff are helpful, making sure your drinks are refreshed and checking in regularly with the table. Street parking only. Pay attention to the signs to make sure you don’t find yourself on the wrong end of a ticket. If you’re in the Hampden area, McCabe’s is well worth making a stop. Happy hour specials are pretty damned spiffy, too. Plus, they have brunch on Saturday and Sunday afternoons from opening until 4PM.

Came here for dinner with my wife in one of our first nights living in Hampden. The food was great and we used the check in offer for a free glass of wine. We were here on a weekend night and it was not very busy so hopefully they get a good crowd. I had their Cottage Pie(like a Shepherds Pie) and it’s was perfect comfort food. My wife had their brisket and she loved it. I think the brisket was probably the better dish but not by much. Both are worth a try. We will be back!

This place has such a feel-good vibe. The staff makes you feel at home, the food is delicious and reasonably priced, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. The only reason I didn’t give it a five is because it took a while for our food to come out on a seemingly slow night, but we were enjoying ourselves so it wasn’t a big deal. Definitely going back!

I’ve been back a few times since my first visit, and am really pleased with the food. In fact, I am craving one of their burgers with the egg on top right now. Also: whenever I walk my dog past, the kitchen staff who are outside always greet her. I like that. :)

The 6 course dinner last night was super fine. Each course was paired with a French wine. The dinner and pairings were planned and executed with care. And both the food and wine menu were accessible and enjoyable — to those w ith knowledge of wine and food — to and those just starting their journey. Don’t miss their next special dinner!

McCabe’s is one of my favorite types of places. It’s a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, but it feels right. I like their«Burger and a Boh» promotion on Monday’s, since their burgers are outstanding — juicy, flavorful, the right size, excellent cook, and a beautifully toasted bun. On our most recent visit, we also tried dessert — their flourless chocolate cake was outstanding. Importantly, I feel like they offer a good value. Some examples: The chocolate cake was $ 5. «Burger and a Boh» was $ 10(+$ 1 for bacon and sauteed onions — worth it!). A glass of wine was $ 4. I’ve been several times now, and I’m sure that I’ll continue to come back. My only complaint is that they only have 1TV(without audio), so don’t come here to catch an important game.

What a wonderful surprise! A humble Baltimore neighborhood joint with the soul of a West Village gastropub. The bespoke cocktails were outstanding and the selection of beers was spot on. I usually don’t get too excited about a caesar salad, but this one was outstanding. We actually order a second one for the table. I highly recommend the steak and cake and the burgers. The cream cauliflower was pretty darn good, as is the mac and cheese. The service was attentive and the prices fair. You won’t be disappointed.

Found this place by accident last Saturday, while we were out looking for a Botanical Garden ;) They were serving brunch when we arrived around noon and the place was not crowded, which was nice. There were maybe 10 tables and a bar area, it was a small place but really cute. Reminded me of Millies in RVA without the ridiculous line to get in. My husband ordered the western omelet and I got the ahi tuna club. They were both delicious and the fries tasted like fresh cut! The dinner menu looked great! Lots of home made comfort foods~ I felt bad for the waitress/bartender as she was the only one on the floor and behind the bar but she seemed to handle it well.

Had brunch there this afternoon, the was only one server but she did a great great job accommodating to everyones needs in the restaurant. First thing, the champagne punch was the truth and fantastic. The meals were nothing to exceptional, but we ordered everything basic, what i will do next time is that i will go there during dinner and try out their dinner menu, and also try a different non basic item of their brunch menu. One thing i know for sure is that i will be ordering that punch again wow.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Baltimore. I really, really HATE crabcakes(sometimes too greasy or too bready), but somebody told me to try this place out. I ordered the steak and cake with the crab spinach dip and it was AMAAAAHZING! So so so delicious! Everyone should try their crab cakes! They aren’t greasy, they are very generous with the amount of crab meat they put in there, and the sides(mac and cheese, french fries, cheesy cauliflower thingy) would probably give anyone a heart attack, but by golly, it was so good! My future father-in-law was visiting from california, and I took him here. This man is so hard to please, but he loved the food so much he snuck his head into the kitchen to compliment the chef. It’s that yummy! Some have complained about the service, but I have been here about four times and the service was always fast, attentive and friendly. However, I am an early eater, so maybe it’s different after 7 – 8.

Had a great experience here this weekend. We had the baked potato soup, calamari, steak and cake, burger and a steak special, plus a fresh strawberry shortcake. Our server was great and even got a custom cocktail made to our direction. All of the food was super tasty. It is definitely worth a trip out to Hampden to eat here, and if you’re nearby you have to try it. You won’t be disappointed.
