Yum! This place has awesome breakfast. Parking was a little difficult, but their food was delicious and fresh! Got the omelette and fried chicken and waffles. Both were delish!

I am in love with Iron Rooster, if I must say so! After months of telling myself I was going to pay the Rooster a visit, I finally made it there and can’t wait for my next visit. Sunday brunch was calling my name so downtown I headed with my cousin as my partner-in-crime. With the open, country barn atmosphere and southern down-home menu, Iron Rooster makes you feel at home and ready to get your grub on when you walk in the door. I knew all about the homemade pop tarts so the brown sugar pop tart was a definite must as our appetizer. Our brown sugar baby arrived at our table piping hot… and I do mean piping hot! With it’s buttery, flaky crust and sweet brown sugar filling, paired with a large dollop of whipped cream, I was in heaven. If I knew pop tarts could taste this good, I would eat them all the time. None of that blue box mess. On to the Chicken and Waffles. I opted for the peppered gravy on the side, instead of smothered on the waffles, and maple syrup as an addition. The sweet and salty combo of the cornmeal waffle and fried chicken played so well together… a dip in the gravy… a dip in the syrup… dip it all together… YUM! And the biscuits… OMG! When the server brought them to the table the first words out of my mouth was«oh my God, that’s huge». The biscuit turned into a two day breakfast fiasco covered in extra gravy for me, and I loved every bite of it. With it’s down home atmosphere, southern cooking, and great service, Iron Rooster is a Sunday brunch or any day brunch, must. If you haven’t gone get up and go now!

It is within a walking distance from my house and it is a convenient option for brunch at any time. I think they have long waits during brunch hours on weekend. We had a large party for Friday and Sunday evening and we had to wait for both times. It is in a beautiful building in the middle of shopping complex which makes parking easy. I tried their chicken and waffles, pancakes(super big) and breakfast burritos and every dish is pretty solid. My favorite dish is watermelon feta salad! Great option for a nice pleasant meal.

There’s always a wait on weekends for brunch, which is great for them and I’m glad the spot is doing well but I personally don’t think the food is worth a long wait. It’s beautifully decorated, has a parking lot, and serves breakfast all day long. All great things. The food is average and I’ll definitely be back again I’m sure but I don’t think it’s food to rave about. I personally don’t love their biscuits or poptarts, the dough on both is very dense. I’ve found I enjoy the items more that don’t include anything they bake.

Where do I begin with this place? Iron Rooster won my heart when I found their Instagram page and saw a picture of a homemade poptart that made my mouth water. I visited the Annapolis location and it was awesome so once I heard they were adding a location closer to home, I freaked out. The first time was during their soft grand opening. Both my boyfriend and I got the chicken and waffles. The plate consists of three pieces of chicken and waffles and a side of home fries. I’ve never chicken and waffles before Iron Rooster, and now I’m scared to try it any other place in fear of disappointment. We had the cookies and cream poptart for dessert and it was perfect. The amount of whipped cream on the side is more than enough to meet my sugar needs! I have been to this location three times now and they never disappoint. The only reason why I’m giving this place four stars is because it is very hard to get seated with less than an hour wait.

Not a bad brunch! A friend said these guys have the best chicken and waffles; they’re pretty good. The gravy is so good, you don’t need any syrup. My crabcake eggs benedict was alright. Both came with some home fries that were just a little too well done(«charred» would be a better word for some of them). The homemade pop tarts are okay; the crust is flakier than the premade kind. It’s basically pie crust. Honestly, the best part of the experience was the fresh-squeezed orange juice. It was a delicious, albeit pricey, beverage to accompany the meal. Our server was great, and the food came out FAST. If you come hungry, they’ll take care of you.

I love everything about Iron Rooster! The décor, the excellent customer service, and let’s not forget the food! We started with the goat cheese balls with arugula, balsamic, and strawberries as well as the prom belly! Got free bacon-in-a-jar for following them on Instagram! For entrees it was chicken n waffles(with home fries) and meatloaf with a fried egg and veggies. Then dessert was the apple pop tart! Yes we went hard! ALL the food was amazing! The portions are huge so we both took home some left overs of the entrees. I got the gravy on the side for my chicken n waffles bc I like syrup but the gravy was excellent with the chicken! The CHICKEN!!! I’m from the south so I know good chicken and this was outstanding chicken! It was flavorful and juicy! I’d come back again and again for that alone! Iron Rooster is definitely added to my list of Bmore favs!

Iron Rooster is a great addition to Baltimore. I love what they’ve done with the old Farmstead Grill building and the menu is amazinggggg. Check in on Favebook(as well as Unilocal!) and get a free mason jar filled with bacon. I recommend the chicken and waffles or chocolate chip pancakes. Most meals are large enough to feed two!

Such a great experience! From the décor to the menu, everything here is thoughtfully and well planned. I had the scrambled eggs with onion and cheese and their mimosa and it was all delicious! A great place to take the family out for breakfast or a special someone for brunch.

Server was rude. Service matters. always to me and I am not picky or a complainer. Friend told me if we checked in on facebook we would get a jar of bacon for comp. We did, told server and she asked us if we would be eating anything. No, I just came to the restaurant for free bacon. Really? Anyway, this whole vibe made me not want to partake in dinner. I did hear great things about this place and wanted to enjoy it. So we ordered 2 drinks and an appetizer. Fried Shrimp. I had a sriracha margarita which was excellent, my friend had an electric blue something. My bacon jar comes out and its scarce and cold. Meh. I have definitely had better. We enjoy our shrimp, I have no interest in ordering another thing here and we continue on with our night and have dinner at another place. I did love the margarita, but I need way better service from a less snarky waitress.

First off — I need a warning on portion size lol. So much good food it didn’t make any sense! I came for dinner but wanted breakfast so I ordered the breakfast bacon and egg sandwich. That baby was HUGE… like for real huge! However the dessert took the cake(pun intended): Goat cheese cheesecake — can I say thick, creamy, and just damn delicious. Enough said!

What a happy accident! I was planning on meeting a few Baltimore friends for late lunch on my drive from CT to southern VA and one suggested meeting in the Target parking lot. Since I was early(as usual), I drove around and looked at the local lunch options. Iron Rooster immediately caught my eye and I quickly decided we were going to eat there after a glance at the menu choices. The inside is a beautiful open space with lots of windows and high ceilings. There are booths and tables and there appears to be a loft with more tables. Our table was long enough for probably 8 adults, which made it the perfect fit for 4 adults and 2 very antsy kids. Our waitress was right on the ball and quickly got us all set up with our beverages and our«appetizer» of a chocolate banana poptart(easily large enough for our group with a little left over). Our entrees were all to die for. I had the BLT&E, which came with just-crispy-enough homefries on the side. I housed it. My brother ordered the turkey burger, which he commented was a «little too hipster» in design but was delicious. The kids in our group had chicken fingers with fries and an order of pancakes, and most of it went home with them. One other in our group ordered the drunken apple dessert(she already had lunch) and I considered ignoring my amazing BLT&E in favor of her drunken apple. It looked divine. I can’t remember what my other friend had for lunch but I know she was raving about it! I wish I lived closer and could come here regularly. It was a treat to eat real food on a road trip instead of going to a diner or grabbing fast food.

Located inside Canton Crossing, this is a great place if you are looking for delicious noms. I’ve been to the Annapolis location several times and so I was excited for a place much closer to where I live. This place does not disappoint. I loved the décor and cozy feel despite the much bigger dining space. There is a large bar and plenty of outside and inside dinner seating which is lacking in the Annapolis location. I ordered the Waffle Burger. Amazing. I couldn’t eat it despite all my efforts to do so. While I was skeptical on ordering the poptarts, I am now convinced that they are a must have if you come here. Huge in size and sooooo much better than any other poptart I’ve tasted. Our wait staff was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back again!

A whole lot of hype and a long wait. I’m not giving this place 3 stars just because of the long wait although even after we were seated it was tough to watch near by seats go unfilled for our entire meal while people waited for over an hour and a half to get a seat at 1pm. Let me start with the good. The overall atmosphere is great. Place is huge with high ceilings and a rustic look. Plenty of parking and stores nearby. Our waitress, Erin, who was on point and attentive , she was great. We had made a statement about one of our meals(not complaining at all or asking for anything in return) she graciously took it off the bill. She also made some good recommendations. The pop tarts are what people seem to come here for and I can’t blame them. The pit beef benny was great on taste but lacked on presentation unlike some of the photos on their instagram. On to the not so good. I’m not going to say bad just needs improvment. Monkey bread was dry and didn’t have much taste other than the raisins. I’d pass on the pancakes. Although you get a huge pile with the full stack they were painfully dry and you definitely need to keep asking for more syrup. The cali omelet was good on ingredients but unfortunately like many places overcooked and burnt. Omelets aren’t suppose to be brown and yellow. Biscuits and gravy were decent but lacked any sausage. I would skip it. All in all the hype and wait weren’t completely worth it. Would I try this place again? Absolutely, but when I know it’s completely empty.

I had dinner at Iron Rooster for a group dinner with some friends. Originally from Northern VA, Baltimore is not somewhere that I frequent. That being said, this place was very easy to find and is conveniently located in a seemingly busy shopping center. BIG Pro: Breakfast ALLDAY(yes, even for dinner). I ordered the BLT&E sandwich which was delicious. The breakdown in the sandwich is as follows: crispy pork belly, lettuce, fried green tomato, garlic aioli, and egg on a warm brioche bun. They follow a somewhat Southern vibe with the cuisine(at least the breakfast). My friend ordered the Chicken & Waffles and when he couldn’t finish it, I obviously stepped up. It was very good and the waffles were the optimal amount of fluffy. Take a gander at the all-day breakfast menu and take your pick( ). I was so close to getting the Breakfast Cuban that looked amazing as well! The restaurant itself is decorated well and has a fun feel and environment. Our server was a delight and not only was he prompt with food and drinks, he was very upbeat and made for a much better dining experience with our group of four! If I am in Baltimore again I want to try more items on that breakfast menu(even if it is 9pm like last time) so I will definitely be back!

I really enjoyed Iron Rooster. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but my friends gave us rave reviews, so we decided to try it for an early(and by early, I mean 10am) Saturday brunch. Place was very crowded, and we ended up waiting about 10 minutes, which was fine. We were eventually seated upstairs, which was really nice, and gave us a good view of the entire place. The restaurant is located in the middle of Canton Crossing, and looks like a barn in the middle of the suburban sprawl. Very noticeable in the center of the strip mall area. There’s also a location in Annapolis, so you could even call Iron Rooster a Mid-Atlantic chain at this point. We wanted to start out with one of these famous homemade pop tarts, and originally ordered the Oreo pop tart, only to find out that it was sold out. Thus, we went for the brown sugar pop tart, and I gotta tell you, I ain’t mad about having to switch. There was just the right filling to crust ratio, and the brown sugar was a really good flavor to pair with the freshly-whipped cream that came with the pop tart. I only wish that I had eaten it afterwards as a dessert, because it would have been a really good ending to the meal. As for our entrées, I got the crab cake benedict, subbing home fries for regular fries, and she got the rancher’s benedict, where the eggs come on top of fried green tomatoes and are then covered in roasted poblano sauce. I tend to shy away from home fries in general, because most places don’t make them as crispy as I’d like(first world problems). However, when my crab cake benny mistakenly came out with home fries, I tried a little bit and they were excellent, and very crispy just the way I’d like. Nonetheless, our waiter apologized and quickly brought out a huge plate of fries to atone for his mistake. Not even necessary, but greatly appreciated. Anyways, my crab cake benedict was very flavorful, and packed in a lot of jumbo lump crab, so I definitely did not leave hungry. Service was pretty great, as previously mentioned. It took a little bit of time to get our order in since it was so busy, but from a customer service point of view, we were treated very well from beginning to end. It was pretty nice that at the beginning of the meal, our waiter stressed that everything that was produced in the kitchen was all from scratch, and which dishes were vegetarian-friendly. Prices for everything were very reasonable for the portions, with each of our entrées at about $ 13 – 18. Perhaps a little pricier for brunch for the area, but I’d say the value is there for sure. Easily one of the better options for brunch in the Canton area. I will definitely be back to try their other pop tarts and benedicts, and perhaps their famed chicken and waffles as well. Haven’t heard much about supper, but considering that their brunch and breakfast items are very delicious, I’d have to assume that the supper is good too. Guess I’ll just have to find out for myself!

Great, rustic interior with good food. I’m a big scrambled egg snob. If the egg isn’t creamy and custardy and soft, scrambled, it isn’t done right. Unfortunately, the last 3 times I’ve been here for breakfast and a mimosa, the eggs were far too overcooked. But, fortunately, the delicious and huge bacon made up for some of the despair. One A+ feature is the service at the bar. I’ve only sat there and the people who work there are wonderful and attentive. This place gets really busy with lines on the weekend, so I would say that you should only go very early, or at later times(past 3) to avoid the 30 – 90 minute lines that this venue frequently gets during their rush breakfast hours. One thing you should also note is that this place serves alcohol starting at 7AM every day! They have the right license for this so drink away, night-shift friends!

With so many other awesome brunch options in the area I can’t say that I’d come back here. Mixed berry pop tart was delicious, chicken and waffles were really good but the home fries were bland/forgettable like an Ore Ida freezer bag. Crabcake Benedict was served literally cold. It was taken back and microwaved which is not what I expect from restaurants… Please just make a fresh and hot one, this was your mistake not mine. The hollandaise sauce was overly sour and the crabcake was overly salty. Most importantly the crabcake was composed of canned stringy crab particles and filler which I find pretty unacceptable in the home of great lump crab meat. Tried a couple signature cocktails that were meh/seemed overpriced. I believe the bartender’s name that served us was Cory. He was nice and personable. He took a 2 star experience up a notch. Langermanns nearby executes brunch much better than our visit to Iron rooster, so as mentioned… I’m not sure i’d return for a jazzed up pop tart.

Food: 2.5 Ambiance: 2 Service: 3 We came here for breakfast/brunch with a friend on Sunday. Having arrived at 9:30 there was already a «15−20 minute» wait that was actually a 40 minute wait. It was packed to the gills with people literally standing next to tables. We started off with a house-made brown sugar pop tart. It’s a huge portion, about 5“x7″, that’s enough for two people to share, or to eat as a meal in itself. There’s slightly too much crust, but at least it was flaky and buttery. The brown sugar filling was tasty but really only a thin line smushed between the crust. Other filling options were mixed berry and a Valentine’s Day strawberry. The biscuits and gravy were decent. Biscuits are huge(nearly the size of a child’s face, my goodness) and very solid. The gravy could have used more sausage but flavor was overall peppery and tasty. The Ranch Benedict was pretty good — fried green tomatoes had a good crust(better than those at Miss Shirley’s), the corn salsa was a bright note, but the English muffin base didn’t add anything and honestly could(should?) have been left off the plate. It was served with potato hash, the highlight of the dish, with a fantastic crispy char on both sides and just the right amount of seasoning. Both entrees were huge, and we both walked out with 75% of the plate in take-home boxes. The unlimited coffee($ 3.50) was decent. Sadly they do not serve any espresso drinks. Ambiance is a rustic barn house vibe, that has potential but for our visit wasn’t great, due to how many people were packed in, waiting for tables. The upper seating area is quiet and bright, definitely the best spot in the house. Would return to try some other intriguing things on the menu, but so far the food isn’t worth a 40 minute wait.

Usually don’t find myself on this side of town but decided to swing in for an appetizer and a drink before heading home. The greeting and host staff is very friendly but the wait staff seemed only concerned with their specific tables and I felt pretty neglected for the first 10 minutes in the bar area. When I finally received service and attention is was from a polite bartender. He offered up specials and was proud of the homemade pop tart specials. Ended up settling with a red ale from Jailbreak and the BBQ pork belly skewers. Like I said, just an appetizer and a drink. The skewers were a pleasant different with complex flavors from the accompanying cold noodle– less chow mien; mixed as a bite was pretty good. The menu here is short and complicated to decipher at first but overall it might have something for everyone.
