I was starving and pregnant, and still unable to eat more than the first bite. Fish tacos have ginger in it, also old tortillas. But service was great!

Super annoyed and disappointed. I’ve ordered this from favor before and it was fantastic. This time, however, I ordered for pickup personally and came home to find only one tiny piece of fish(pictured). This was so not worth $ 13PLUS a $ 2 tip(apparently it’s more expensive if you order online? Because the price on the board was only $ 9 when online it said $ 11 plus tax? Idk. Whatever.) moral of the story is, I guess I should have checked before I left but really? Now I’m bitter and hungry.

Another awesome food truck added to East 7th Eats — this has to be the most eclectic menu of any food truck I’ve ever seen. From shark, crawfish and catfish kebabs to asian greens tossed with broiled crickets. It looks like a constantly changing menu as well. They also serve simple smoothies and juices. I got the shark kebab which was incredibly tender and the sauce and grilled veggies worked perfectly with the warm, doughy, house-made pita. I also got a mixed smoothie — I love that they keep it simple use just coconut water and fruit instead of overloading it with fruit juice or other sugary items. This is definitely a place I’m going to come back to again and again to try new, creative foods.

I was primarily in this food park to go to Veracruz, but got lured to this truck by a sign that said«free beer». I’m a pretty savvy consumer, and knew that I’d be throwing away money if I didn’t get a cup. I got the catfish sandwich to go along with the free beer(the beer is pretty good, by the way). I knew that I was in for a treat when, upon receiving my order, the chef started making a fresh sourdough pita. That’s right: rather than reach into a bag and peel off a soulless factory-made pita from a uniform stack, he instead slapped a wad of sticky homemade dough onto a griddle. This spoke to me. I knew that I trusted the right man with my fish-sandwich needs. The result was an overabundance of deliciously crispy fish in an amazing pita. A lesser chef would have stretched the same amount of fish into two pitas. Instead I was staring down a double-stuffed fish sandwich and wishing that I scaled back my Veracruz order. The fish was deep fried passed the golden-brown stage. It was a deeper mahogany brown, with a satisfying crunch. Incredible.

Fresh and delicious. I had the crawfish pita sandwich and now I want to try everything else they have to offer. Come. Now. Go. Oh, and free beer. Yes, you read that right.

As part of the austin Food Truck and Trailer food festival, Truck By TruckWest, I went to Trailer Treasure last night in the evening around 9pm. I found the Owner/Operator to be a cool, personable and talented chef. He was truly a man of his craft. Sincere about his food and hard working in his kitchen. His signature dishes for the festival that we tried were a Felafel and fresh cut fried with a pairing of sauces. We missed the Shark Kebabs, but there’s always next time. For starters, the felafel was the most bold, clever and flavorful Falafel I have ever had. And I regularly eat at the table of Gregg Willman. I simply must bring my parents to experience this outstanding thing. Oh! And it was paired with a FREE cup of homebrew Heffewiesen Boch crafted by the chef that was like drinking a concentrated afternoon motorcycle ride through the late Texas spring hill country. It was quite spectacular. The fries were perhaps slightly over-crispy for my taste but were spot-on to the specification of how one of my table-mates prefers her fries. Crispy, golden to brown and still steaming hot and fluffy on the inside. I must recommend this good man and his quality, sincerely crafted food.

Okay. Wow. I mean, really, this place is good. I ordered the falafel and it was the best I have ever eaten. Perfectly crispy on the outside, totally fresh, lots of homemade stuff(was it Tahini?), relish with pickles, etc. The menu is crazy. There were Po Boys on there(even shark and gator), and lots of fresh fruit drinks. They also have a 32 oz. popsicle made from real fruit, and I have no idea how you eat a 32 oz. popsicle. This place is in same trailer park as Taco Baby. Both trailers were good, but this place really, really surprised me. Negatives? None that I can think of… Food took a bit longer than I thought it would, but I knew why as soon as I saw how meticulous he put my falafel together. Also, portion was large. I was stuffed. I am coming back ASAP.

I don’t know where to start, this place blew me away and that is not easy. First off the food was AMAZING. We had the gator and crawfish balls, yum! I was nervous about the idea of gator but the owner assured me I would like it. Guess what? It was fantastic! It was a slow night and we struck up a conversation with the owner. He’s such a cool guy and was asking for suggestions or things that could be improved. You can tell he’s passionate about what he does and it certainly shows when you taste the food. I can’t wait to come back. I’ve made it a goal to try everything on this menu.

My friends and I ate the Salmon and Crawfish Balls. We shared a plate of three different ones and absolutely loved them. They had different sauces and sat on a bed of awesome slaw. I’m not a slaw eater but it was a perfect compliment to the dish. The owner/chef was very pleasant and eager to make sure all was well with the food. We will be back.

Based on the signage, it’s hard to know what the deal is with this trailer. So, let me try to sum it up: It’s one guy’s expression of the food he loves, with a good bent towards Louisiana cuisine. There are crawfish balls, po boys and gator, of course. But there’s also shark, kimchi and probably the best falafel balls I’ve had in Austin(too bad it comes on a flour tortilla for now, but he’s working on making pita for it)! It’s also a juice truck, with lots of fruit and veggie options! It’s only been open for a few weeks, so go show your support.
