Not a bad burger but definitely far from the best. The flavor is there but quantity isn’t. You pay around the same amount you would pay at Hopdoddy but receive much less. Definitely not worth going back to. Sorry Shake Shack.

Went back and tried their chicken sandwich. It was better than advertised! Great fries and salted Caramel shake. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars was price per portion size.

First and last time. I stopped here only because I had seen it a couple times and I was in the area. I heard they make a good root beer float. Turns out they were out of root beer. WTF? I got a cheese burger and lemonade. $ 9.50WTF? WAITED nearly 30 minutes to get a burger and lemonade WTF? The burger wasn’t tasty but tiny. The«mango» lemonade tasted like orange juice with a dash of lemonade. THISPLACESUCKS! GOODLUCKLASTINGINAUSTIN

I ordered a single hamburger at Shake Shack on South Lamar for lunch and it tasted fine — not extraordinary. I ended up being sick about an hour after lunch. My husband and I had eaten the same dinner the previous night, as well as the same breakfast that morning, so the only thing that could have caused it was the burger because I went to lunch with friends and without the hubby. I much prefer P. Terry’s chicken burgers. For more reviews, check out my blog:

I had the single smoke shack burger, fries, and a purple cow float. Everything was fresh and delicious. The fries and float were enough to share, but too much to eat by myself. The bacon on the burger was so good and crispy and the cherry peppers were just the right amount of spice — not too hot. Everything was presented in a clean fashion — not sloppy or messy. The whole restaurant was equally clean. On a Monday afternoon, it was slow. There was plenty of seating and the food came out fast. The employees were very nice and thanked me by name! All together it cost about $ 16 – 17, a little pricey, but a nice treat.

I’ve been to this location twice and the service here is awesome! I’ll explain later. Since my Shake Shack experience in NYC, I always order the shack stack because I loveeeee mushrooms. This burger never disappoints me. The second item I order is the fries but it must come topped with cheese. It’s a heart attack meal waiting to happen but I don’t live near a Shake Shack so I don’t have this meal often. When we were about to order our meal, the Manager stopped us and said they ran out of patties. I literally thought this was a joke… so I laughed but in all honesty, it was the truth. He said, the patties are on their way here and it should take about 10 minutes. Instead of waiting 10 minutes with nothing in my stomach. I stood in line for a shake. The manager surprised me and said, we will pay for your shake on behalf of Shake Shack. The best part was he not only offered this to me, but my friends too. The manager deserves kudos for winning us over with shakes.

I got the chicken shack and it was as good as any fast food chicken sandwich I’ve had. Super crispy, crusty batter, juicy chicken, ripe and fresh toppings, and the bun was fantastic. The fries were hot and fresh and they have a very limited but quality selection of beers on tap. Cheeseburger was good as well. They aren’t going to wow you with imported truffle aiolis, fennel seed crusted brioche buns and locally sourced animals but for a straight forward simple chicken sandwich or burger its delicious. Price is reasonable, somewhere between your average hellhole McKingdys type burger and super fancy burger that you’ll undoubtedly regret paying $ 15 for if its not the best you’ve ever had. We went for lunch on a Sunday and had maybe a 3 minute wait, so it seems the Hopdoddy lines haven’t lasted here, which is fine by me.

First time at shake shack EVER. Everyone says it’s comparable to in-n-out but I beg to differ. This place is a higher end burger joint. They sell hot dogs, chicken burgers, wine, and frozen custards. I ordered the double shack burger and my husband ordered the chicken burger. I loved the burger and so did my husband because he couldn’t stop eating mine. Juicy meat and very filling. I didn’t like the chicken burger mainly because it had a relish mayo sauce. Not a fan of pickles. We also got the coffee shake and the 50⁄50(iced tea +lemonade). Both tasted good. The only negative is the price. It’s a bit pricey especially since you have to order everything separately. Also– love the idea for pet treats. I didn’t buy the treats but next time I bring my dog, I would definitely buy a dog treat.

Yes it’s expensive. Yes there are a ton of other worthy burger places in town. No, it’s not the easiest place to access. But none of that matters, because the SmokeShack, the ChickenShack, the fries, the shakes. they’re just. perfect. I love you Shake Shack.

There was such a long line the last time I was in Austin. There wasn’t a line this trip so I had to take advantage. I really enjoyed New York’s Shake Shack and hoped that it would be the same in Austin. I was a bit skeptical at first due to the negative reviews I’ve seen. However, my burger was really good. The fries were very good as well. Can’t wait for the Dallas location to open up.

We went there at 3pm on a Sunday and there was no line. There were still a lot of people at the place though! They are just very efficient. They have a normal line and then a «C-line». The C line is for«cold», non-cooked stuff because that takes less time to prepare so that’s why it is a shorter line! What a great idea! The style of the restaurant is very modern and very well kept! You would think the prices would be more expensive just by judging how well the place is kept. The parking is in the same place as Alamo Drafthouse and you have to walk a little less then a block to the restaurant. The parking is free at the drafthouse. We got the ShakeBurger which is a burger with cheese and their special sauce. It was so good! The sauce was great. The reason why I am not giving this place 5 stars is because the milkshakes weren’t anything great and not worth the price. We got the chocolate milkshake and we were not impressed.

So stoked that Shake Shack is finally here in town. They have a super convenient location with a parking garage adjacent to their store front. +1 Star for that alone. Their delicious crinkle cut fries were crispy, properly salted, and just awesome. It’s maybe something I was looking forward to more than the burger… +1 Star I think that the interiors here are the coolest I’ve seen at any of the Shake Shacks I’ve been to… I love the green mossy wall, the repurposed wood tables at the booths(From a bowling alley in Brooklyn! Love that heritage!) and the ability to eat at different spaces within the dining room(booth, table, bar top, patio). +1 Star They had fantastic customer service — folks were so attentive and happy to make our dining experience even better. +1 Star My only negative was the Roadside Burger… I had SUCH high hopes for this featured menu item, but the burger was a bit of a downer. The description read that the traditional Shack Burger was upgraded with some caramelized onions that are simmered in beer and bacon. Basically all of my favorite things. Unfortunately for me, the consistency of the onions were less of what I call caramelized onions and more of a gelatinous smear of onions with wisps of bacon. The flavor was a bit off and I ended up eating the onion smear with my crinkle fries, which wasn’t awful, but not great. That being said… –1 Star. Overall, quality place and I look forward to returning for a traditional Shack burger in the future. THREESTARS.

I’ve been there couple times since it opened in Austin! First months were good and it did worth it! But I’m very disappointed on it since I’ve been there last times and food was bad. So expensive for a small burger comparing to other great burgers in town! I usually order Smokeshack and last time I ordered double. I spent $ 17 dollars having a double Smokeshack + shake and the burger came very greasy, raw and really small and just 2 slices of bacon… I couldn’t finish to eat. I was feeling bad before I finish it! Seriously! I invited my friend to go there to try it before she goes back to the airport after a holiday and I was completely embarrassed because she got to the airport feeling so bad as I was! Probably this is the reason that the place was so empty last times I went there. I wish I could be back but probably it will not happen. I do not recommend it for anyone.

I wish we have this in Cali! I’m seriously in love with their stack shack burger… oh that combo of filled portobello and juicy burger, so gooooood! I’m sorry in n out, shake shack stole my heart and stomach away haha! My whole fam were touring Austin, about 25 of us came here. I wish i took a pic of all of us, but there wasn’t one table to fit us all haha. The manager talked to us as well and he was very nice and patient with us, coz we ordered so many that it got a little confusing. Nevertheless, our orders were complete and came out quick! All of us enjoyed and devoured our delicious shake shack burgers!!!

No exaggeration that this is the BEST fast food burger I have ever had. I have tried both Inn-N-Out and Shake Shack several times, and I can say without hesitation that Shake Shack has the better burger. You will hear a lot of haters stubbornly argue that Inn-N-Out is still on top, but most of them would be your native Californians supporting their hometown restaurant. Shake Shack, in my opinion, wins without a doubt in terms of taste. I would dare to go even further and say that it’s better than the Austin over-hyped favorite Hopdoddy’s, in terms of a normal cheeseburger. The patty is just the right amount of thickness, medium rare juicy and perfectly seasoned. Cheese melted, lettuce and tomatoes fresh. Their special sauce adds a spin that makes it stand out from any normal burger. But the best part has to be the bun. Not only was it toasted flawlessly, but the bread is slightly firm and a bit moist, which doesn’t leave that dry feeling in your mouth as you chew. The crinkle-cut fries were extra crispy just the way I like it, which added a great finishing touch. Someone please bring Shake Shack to Houston, I am drooling as I am writing this…

This place is so overhyped like w0w 0k… I remember when it opened, everybody was going balls to the wall crazy over how this awesome NYC burger place was coming to Austin. So I decided to try the hype. The over-priced and over-greasy hype. Mediocre at best, I was not impressed by the burger, fries, or milkshake. I thought the Uchi concrete ice cream item would at least be promising, but honestly I just wanted to drive to Lick afterwards. You’re better off eating at P. Terrys which is the local, cheaper, bomb burger place.

It’s shake shack! Let’s not get carried away with gourmet burgers, but reminisce in our young adventures in Manhattan. Actually, I never had the shakes in NY, but I’m going along to try them now. Burger’s your friendly NY shake shack burger. It’s small for the price, but it’s tasty. Crinkle cut fries accompany it. I’d recommend trying each one, one lunch meal at a time.

Food: So. Soft. Why are the burgers so soft??? Pretty much biteable and swallowable in five bites. The single Shack Burger is all you need. And the crinkly cut fries. And the vanilla shake — so smooth that you won’t even realize 640 to 930 calories are going down… Yes, the price is nowhere near In-N-Out, but neither is the quality. By that, I mean, don’t even compare the two places. Single Shack Burger, fries, and shake will total $ 15. Service: Quick and friendly! Hard to find spaces to sit sometimes, but the staff is really quick to clean up tables once patrons have left so you’re not sitting with someone else’s trash for that long. Ambiance: Chill! Open and airy with large TV’s playing in the corners. Having had Shake Shack many times in New York, yes, it’s nothing special. But as an addition to the burger scene in Texas(or just Austin…), it’s not bad at all. Parking is free around the corner, both in their attached garage or just use the Alamo Drafthouse parking garage.

It’s time for Shake Shackinnnn. Shake Shack, the famous burger chain hailing from the big apple! I’ve been to New York many times and have came across Shack Shack many times, but have never made it into the long formed line. SO finally, I had the chance to experience SS in Austin. We had the Shack Stack(Cheese burger with the fried mushroom) & the Shackmiester Dog with the famous fries and lemonade. To be honest, I expected way more due to the hype. The Shack Stack was rather small considering there is technically«two patties». The taste was good, but without the fried mushroom, the burger would have been very average. I would actually go for the Shroom burger next time. The Shackmiester Dog was good, lots of fried shallots to add to the flavour. The fries were cold and needed a lot of ketchup + pepper to bring out the flavour for us. However, I would have to say the BUN was delicious, soft & just the right texture!!! I loved the décor inside & the wooden tabletops, very sleek décor for a fast food chain. I would come back again, but I do think the burgers are a little pricey given for what you get…

The burger was good but really just a step above P Terry’s. I would suggest this spot for casual dining or a chill bite before a movie. Beware this burger is not so cheap. The burger, shake and fries came in at $ 15. The caramel pretzel shake was delicious, though a bit runnier than one would expect a shake to be. I’m also not entirely sure where the pretzel flavor came in. The crinkle fries were fresh and crispy but lacked a lot of flavor.
