This is one of Austin’s home grown gems however Allan Rodriquez makes it shine. A Tuesday afternoon was a great time to visit because I was lavish with all of his attention and expertise. I have skin allergies and he pulled out a well organized book to review the product ingredients. He was very knowledgable and a good eye for color. Thanks Alan I will be back!

Rae Cosmetics did hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and me for my wedding and did an incredible job! Not only did everyone look beautiful but the staff there is great — super quick to respond via email or calls and checked in/​followed up extremely promptly.
I scheduled a trial about 2 months prior to my wedding with Allison for hair and Rachel for makeup and thought I was set but decided I actually wanted to try another hairstyle (not that I didn’t love the first one, but wanted another option just in case). We couldn’t make our schedules work since I lived out of town (which totally freaked me out!) but Allison scheduled in an extra hour for my hair so we had plenty of time to «rearrange» if needed and everything worked out perfectly with the new hair style.
We had 2 hair and 2 makeup artists come to our hotel and we all had a great time getting ready — they worked quickly but did a great job… some of the girls weren’t sure what look they really wanted but the stylists helped them figure it out and made sure no one looked too overdone. We battled some intense humidity but everyone looked pretty until the end!
Their salon is super nice too (which I visited for my trial and a few other makeup applications for wedding events) — really cute on the inside and even offer white wine which is always a plus!

Frustrating experience trying to use a voucher for a complimentary makeup application that I won at a bridal event. Was getting a lot of excuses about how I couldn’t use it for my wedding, and in the end, it just seemed like they didn’t want to honor the voucher. Why give one away in that case, especially at a bridal event?

Rae Cosmetics is great, top notch. I used Rae for my makeup for my November wedding and they were professional, personable, and did fabulous work. Shane was awesome, and his attention to detail and skill is undeniable. My mom and bridesmaids also had their makeup done and we were all very happy with the end result and everyone looked beautiful! Had lots of fun. Makeup matched each of our skin tones perfectly and stayed perfect all night. Also love that their makeup is mineral based and noncomedogenic.

Rae Cosmetics was excellent! I utilized their hair and make up services for my wedding this past October. My girls had such a blast getting ready at the salon and the entire staff was so accommodating: they allowed us to bring in champagne and breakfast tacos, perfection! I highly recommend them if you want some extra TLC for your wedding or event!

Shane just upgraded my face in to beyonce status essentially five minutes today. In groggy after rain mold eyes weather no less. Been wanting to come in for a a while and stopped in between never ending work today and birthday party to go to. The products are wonderful and Shane did an absolute transformation and knew exactly how to match and treat my highly volatile and hard to match skin tone.

I read about this company online while searching for makeup for the tropics. I positively never rave about makeup, but this foundation is absolutely amazing and i have never seen anything like it.
For skin with flaws, wrinkles or large pores, it does not «gather» into the flaws like most foundations.
When I read it was a «tinted moisturizer», that worried me. I didn’t want to be greasy and I feared the coverage wouldn’t be sufficient. I need not have worried– the coverage is sufficient yet I can’t feel it on my skin; it’s especially natural-​looking, and it is never greasy.
I had never before used another foundation with these fantastic characteristics & have been wearing this about 3 years. I can’t imagine using another brand.
My only complaints:
I wish the tubes made it easier to get all the makeup out, or for the price, I wish they’d give you a little more.
If you only order one item, the shipping cost is too high.
Beyond this, this foundation deserves to be «famous».

My bridesmaids and I did our hair and makeup here for my wedding. First of all they are such nice ladies. From the moment we walked in we were very warmly greeted and felt cared about. We were offered beverages and told to make ourselves at home. Chassie did my hair and makeup and the whole process was so fun, the fun music (Spice Girls, hello! Perfect girly music to get ready to for your wedding), the studio bright, clean and happy looking, and the ladies were like your best girl friends doing your hair, joking with us the entire time. My hair turned out just like the magazine picture and I was walked though the entire process as she worked to make sure it turned out perfect. I never touched up my makeup once on my wedding day. even after crying and hugging guests, it stayed on perfectly. It was even raining and misty that day. It never even felt like I had on makeup because it was so light and breathed. I will be going back and buying makeup from them for everyday use. Highly recommend them!

Their makeup is just fabulous. They did my makeup for my wedding in 2010 in the hot month of June. Even in the heat, I never once touched it up. I finally purchased their cosmetics for daily use 2 years ago and I couldn’t be more pleased. It looks natural, it’s truly fragrance free, and it doesn’t sweat off. I’ve been ordering it online from their website since I now live quite far from their store. I have a lot of allergies and sensitivities and never had a problem with this line.

I hate writing reviews these days, but I feel compelled to defend Rae Cosmetics because the lack of reviews is causing 1 troll’s post to weigh down their star rating.
This is not a new business, but since they moved, it’s a great addition to the 2^nd Street district. My original opinion still stands, and my review of their last location is here —
It’s simply great makeup from a local business. The pricing is on the higher end, but comparable to what you’d spend on MAC and cheaper than NARS. They also offer makeup application services. At $ 75 (in store appointments, includes false eyelashes), it’s certainly not something I’d do every day (I’ve used them twice for this in the past 5 years), but totally worth it for a very special occasion.
If that makes me a «basic nobody», so be it, but at least my makeup is flawless.

Lacey and her team at Rae Cosmetics did the hair and makeup for me and my sisters and mother for my wedding and it was great! We had a great time talking and we were done before we thought we would be, so that was nice. They definitely listened to what we wanted and we looked great. It definitely was a bit pricey, but worth it for me.

My sister and I did our makeup and hair here for her wedding. Chelsea was so great, she listened to all our needs and tried to do accordingly. She was really friendly too, giving us suggestions and options for our makeup, along with some beauty tips.
I highly recommend Rae!
