I got to try out the truck at trail of lights with a friend who swears by this truck. I went with her judgment and decided to try the chickenlicious. The mixture of textures was really interesting and I actually really liked it. The pita itself was great, so was the chicken they used. Unfortunately there were NO pickles as promised on the sign. Not only that but my friend said they usually use about twice the amount of sauce which really makes it pitalicious. I had a lackluster, but tasty, experience, but will likely not return.

I stopped by the location on south congress today, and was greeted by the friendliest worker. After realizing they served falafel wraps, I promptly ordered one with a topo chico. Their drink menu is vast! After quickly receiving my wrap, i took one bite into the falafel and I swear, I saw heaven. It was perfectly warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The tahini really added to the flavor. The only negative aspect was the bad weather. but I’m happy they were at least open. Would recommend.

BESTSHWARMASEVER! This is an awesome truck run by lovely lebanese people and there chicken shwarmas are as amazing as it gets its truly authentic it reminds me of the shwarma back home and it’s definitely worth stopping by! I had the chickenlicious sandwich which was amazing which is basically a chicken shwarma with hot sauce and the flafel plate which tastes exactly like how true flafel is meant to be cooked.

My friend told me about pitalicious, he tried falafel and chicken he kept telling me about it until I came and tried it, amazing the falafel is made up from scratch she served it in a pita bread with very fresh veggies and the best tahini sauce. The chicken is the best big amount of chicken in the wrap, there prices r very good. Pitalicious is one of the best food trailers in Austin. Best mideterranian food. The service is amazing the lady is very clean and this is the cleanest place I ate in Austin. Will definitely come at least 3 times a week and anytime I we have break between our classes. They also serve Halal food which is great

Not very good. My pita was cold, hard, and not like a traditional pita(or any pita I’ve ever had for that matter, and I worked at a pita place in college) whatsoever. It’s basically your choice of meat, french fries, and their red sauce wrapped in pita bread. I asked for him add typical gyro/pita items, like lettuce, tomato, onion, feta, tzatziki etc., and was told they don’t have any of those items… which is insane. Further, after paying I noticed he tacked on 50 cents for the credit card, but wasn’t informed of the extra charge until after he charged me. No sign or notice anywhere about the additional fee. When I brought this to his attention, he rudely said, «should have paid with cash.» No kidding, I would have if I would have known about the additional CC fee before I paid! Never again.

Ordered the Lamb gyro wrap on Saturday night and it was the worst gyro I have ever tried. Definitely do no recommend.

Tried the biryani(flavored rice with Chicken) and it was pathetic. The pita wraps that we had during our previous visit(months ago) were ok. Update: Serve crappy food, feel the heat and then heap scorn on the customer. Nice way to run a business. Bios, lol.

The food was okay. I ordered a lamb gyro and was caught of guard when I bit into into a chunk of french fries. The addition of fries is an interesting twist but something I could happily do without.

Delicious lamb gyro. Fries were fresh and came with a yummy dipping sauce. Far exceeded my expectations of a food truck!

I ordered a gyro and am thoroughly disappointed. The pita is hard. There’s an insane amount of sauce and the meat does not appear to be fresh. I do not recommend this place. Also I think she charged me $ 2.50 for a topo chico… She did give me a refund for the gyro.

My workplace has been stepping up their lunch time food truck game and I’m happy that PitaLicious is now in rotation. Today, I had the Chick-Licious wrap and it was great. Large portion, perfectly seasoned meat, fries within the wrap, and their P-Licious sauce… yum! Also, the service is fairly quick and very friendly. Good way to kick off my lunch break. I can’t wait to try the rest of the wraps!

Great food for on the go. We tried the lamb pita and chicken pita, both of which had great seasoning and delicious sauces. The meat was juicy(not over cooked) and the spices added were great. The staff was super friendly and willing to accommodate some of our modifications to the wraps(I got the chicken with hummus instead of french fries with added spicy sauce and it was amazing). The additions I would make when going back is to add veggies to the chicken pita(it was just chicken and the addition of hummus that I asked for) and I love to have more things in my food. The lamb pita had more veggies on it to add to the overall flavor. It was a bit more expensive than I anticipated but the flavor was worth the price. We will be back as the food was great and the people running the truck were awesome.

My husband and I stopped here on a whim… The falafel is fantastic! We have lived in/visited quite a few major metropolitan cities and this was probably some of the best falafel we had! The tahini was yummy, too! The service was friendly and fast! We’ll definitely visit them again next time we’re in town!

Pretty friendly staff. I’ve had the Beeflicious maybe 20x. Affordable too! Hard to find that in Austin!

Not a fan. The flavors were alright but didn’t really stand out. I would kind of rather have a «generic» kronos pita with the greasy pre-sliced gyro slices griddled and stuffed into one of those greasy fluffy pitas kronos also sells. The gyros are served in a thin wrap which was essentially like a flour tortilla. There wasn’t a lot of gyro meat in it, and what was it wasn’t super juicy and flavorful like gyro ought to be. Toppings were generally sparse, I felt like the 6 french fries running down the pita made up the bulk of the flavor and half of the«filling» of this pita. It wasn’t «bad» by any means, but I just would not go out of my way to eat here.

This food truck came by my work for an event we were having, and I have to say this was the best falafel I’ve had since living in Texas. It wasn’t over-fried and burnt like some of the other falafel I have had here. With a nice crunch and soft inside, it’s definitely just right. Using a southwest sauce on the lamb gyro was a little off putting for me, personally, but I’m sure there are others out there who would absolutely love it. The service was wonderful, they were very helpful and friendly, which is more than someone serving food out of a truck needs to be, and it definitely helped me in my decision to give this quick stop a solid 5 stars. Would definitely eat here again.

The Vegan Pitalicious was definitely not alicious, more avolting. Probably the worst thing I have ever eaten in Austin. The truck is temporarily round the corner from home so thought I would try it out. The hummus was the worst I have ever had, the pita bread was not like the delicious pockets I have had in Greece. Was hungry, so ate half — the rest ended up in the bin. Oh no, never again.

I visited PitaLicious as part of Austin’s Truck and Trailer food festival, Truck By TruckWest. The signature dish for the food competition was Falafel, Dolma or a Lamb Gyro. I want to stop the press right here for a moment… This was an exemplary experience! The service and the food my wife and her friend and I got here was EXACTLY the reason that I now am sworn off fast-food and looking at food trucks and trailers for all my convenience meals from now on. I’m serious. Here’s why: We showed up at closing time, 9:00pm. Like too late for most places to even give you the time of day. AND, the chef had just finished what he later admitted was possibly one of his busiest days EVER. Not only did he still feed us but he did it with genuine and real care and friendliness and concern for our experience. I felt like I could have been the first customer of his day. Seriously. Having actually run out of some of the food he had prepared for the festival he gave my wife and I a half-portion each of the Chick-Licious. A Chicken Shawarma wrap with skinless boneless chicken breast marinated with herbs and spices, roasted and served in pita bread with pickles, fries, and what turned out to be the all-important P-Licious sauce. This was without a doubt the best chicken Shawarma I had in this entire competition. That sauce has a flavor that is so awesomely creamy and spicy and that so excellently compliments the grilled chicken that it completely made the dish. It was street food in it’s purest realization, easy to handle and eat. SO tasty you remember it the next day and served so hot and fresh that every bite had crisp texture and savory juiciness. I am looking forward to going back for more as soon as I can talk my wife into it! It was paired with a Dolma which while admittedly not exceptional. Was still tasty and pleasant and very welcome on the plate. AND, our friend got the crispy fries Covered with Chef Sauce from the regular menu. THEY were AWESOME! We ate them down to the last fry and scraped up all the sauce while doing so. Now I can’t imagine getting food here without also getting the fries. They were perfectly golden brown like ideal McDonald’s Fries as you might remember them from childhood. And the sauce made you just want to cram more of them into you mouth after every bite. PLUS, they had Mandarin Jarritos!!! Oh, I was in heaven! So in closing, this is a great guy, running a solid, flawless food truck, who deserves your business. I intend to make certain that he gets mine!

Yum! We had a great lunch here. Hubby has the gyro which was delicious. Traditional gyro with a southwest flair. I had the chickenlicious. It was also good. Nice sauce with chicken and potatoes. My 5 yo had the Nutella and banana pita. It was good just a little tough for my girl who has a very loose front tooth. Updated review to 5 stars because the owners reached out to me to let me know we can request to not have the Nutella pita untoasted which is easier for my toothless little girl. I love how they took the time to message me. Much appreciated!!! We will be back soon! Love that the owners are responsive here! They sent us a note and told us to order the Nutella pita uncooked next time! Thank you!
