Great Phở. The best in town. Incredible broth and vegan friendly. Steamed dumplings were delicious but could be more generous

Yum! The restaurant was empty so I was a little nervous, but this was the best phở I’ve ever had! I had the tofu phở and it was so flavorful and DELICIOUS! My bf got the chicken and rice plate which was also really tasty. Will definitely be returning:)

The Bahn Mi was fast and delicious. I believe it was under seven bucks for the sandwich and a spring roll. The atmosphere is tired. For a date night go around the corner to the ramen place. Phở Van is the place for delicious and affordable Bahn Mi or a quick bowl of Phở.

I’m no Phở connoisseur, but this place is amazing! The service is as absolutely friendly as they can possibly be and the food is SO freaking delicious! I’ve brought friends here that have in turn taken their friends here… Week after week the food tastes just as great and fresh as ever! I’d absolutely recommend this place! My usual dish is a vermicelli bowl with grilled pork, sprouts, cilantro, cucumbers and a sliced egg roll(V6). They have the two sauces I LOVE, the srirachi and hot chili.

Came in for lunch with my family. It was very busy, thus the service suffered a bit. However, our waitress was very nice and did a decent job overall. Despite the place being packed, we got our food in a reasonable amount of time and it was delicious. Food 9⁄10. Everything tasted great, I had a large chicken phở soup with pork spring rolls which came out to about $ 12. Reasonable price and portions as well. Service was about a 6.5÷10, but if they weren’t so busy I think it would have been better. For example, they forgot about my spring rolls and ended up bringing them after I got my entrée. It also wasn’t easy to get the waitresses attention that we hadn’t gotten our appetizers. However, the staff was nice, they were just stretched thin when I was there. Overall, I would recommend this place for anybody looking for some Vietnamese food. They have great taste and friendly service for a reasonable price.

I love this place! Their small is a perfect size for one person, I can finally finish my own bowl! I’ve had the phở with steak and it’s super delicious. I’ve also had the egg noodle soup with BBQ Pork which was also amazing! The staff is great too, quick and friendly.

In my quest to try all the phở in Austin, I’ve finally tried Phở Van. Service was quick — we were seated immediately, and brought our drinks a minute later. We both ordered small bowls of phở, and an order of spring rolls. The phở came out within a few minutes — they quickly brought it to our table, and then immediately went back to the kitchen. I assumed that they went to go grab our spring rolls, but I was wrong. Several people had walked in at this time, so I thought maybe they were going to seat those people first, and bring us our spring rolls. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, either. So, in review of the phở, it was good. I’d give it 4 stars. However, I’m docking a star for forgetting our spring rolls.(Because when we ordered them, we were only of only 2 tables in the restaurant. they didn’t start getting busy until our food came out.) When we went to check out, they had charged us for the spring rolls, and we explained that we never got them, so they quickly removed that charge. All in all, a solid place, but one of my favorite phở places is just a few blocks from Phở Van’s, so I’m not sure of the likelihood of me returning.

Best phở in the world. Been going there a long time and it’s so good. Pretty much the same staff for over 10 years.

Phở Van is pretty great for what it is. I’ve been meaning to try this place in my quest to eat all the phở in Austin and I’m glad I stopped by for lunch the other day. You’ll be seated immediately upon entering and then immediately brought waters. They are on top of the service here. Once you’ve ordered, you don’t have to wait very long for your food, either. We ordered some fried pork dumplings, phở ga(chicken phở), and a banh mi. The dumplings arrived at our table within a few minutes and our food followed shortly after. The dumplings were pretty solid and I enjoyed them. You get four or five dumplings for $ 3.50, which isn’t bad at all. My chicken phở was pretty solid. I ordered a small because I can never eat more than that and it was plenty of food. Lots of slices of chicken in the bowl, so they don’t skimp on that, as well as plenty of noodles, cilantro, and green onions. The broth was very flavorful and I of course loaded up on Sriracha. There isn’t an option for white or dark meat and they just give you chicken breast, which is fine. I also was given only one slice of jalapeño on the little veggie plate and I wish I had been given more because I love jalapeños, but that’s not anything I’d count against them. I can always ask for more next time, if I want. My boyfriend really enjoyed his banh mi and said it was pretty good, so I’d say that’s a decent endorsement on his end. For two meals and an appetizer, our bill was $ 16. Not even joking. $ 16. For all that food for less than $ 20, that’s a steal. When I’m in the mood for phở, but I’m not in the mood to drive all the way to Phở Saigon or Phở Dan, it’s good to know that Phở Van will do in a pinch.

Today has been a day where I sit down a review all of the small places. Far from luxury or pampering, just establishments that are good at what they do and put heart into doing it. This is a no fuss shop with excellent and cheap food. I usually stick with the bahn mi(careful to remove the jalapenos because they are very spicy with lots of seeds) while my boyfriend enjoys the phở. Great service, although it has been inconsistent. I can tell that the woman who seats often caters to regulars and I aspire to be one!

To date Phở Van is my favorite Vietnamese cuisine in ATX. I’ve had several others and this seems to be the closest to traditional I have had. Everywhere else tries to fancy it up or go trendy. The dishes I’ve had so far are the Banh Mi and the phở. Both so delicious and fresh I can rarely contain my excitement once I decide to dine here. Happy eating. Cheers!

So so yummy! I love the phở ga. It’s chicken broth based and warms you up on a cold day and even a hot day too! Loads of juicy chicken breast perfectly sliced fill the bowl! Small size is enough for me even with my big appetite! I also heart the banh mi sandwich. Absolutely delicious pork with the most amazing mayonnaise sauce! Really inexpensive at just about $ 5 and a giant size! Crab Rangoon is good. Food is delivered fast and there are always people filling the tables.

Super Fast Service. Whoever that cute elderly woman is that seats you right after stepping 1 inch in the doorway, still has ninja skills for the past few years i’ve been visiting. She doesn’t miss a beat, water refills, order taking… she’s adorbs. The sandwiches, the phở(N15) is a great option. it’s all delicious and priced well. Great spot to be in and out within 20 minutes, have a full belly, and have a full wallet still. Only issue is the slippery plastic chop sticks they use without any scoring towards the bottom or anything. These things… not. a. fan. of. Awkward larger size as well. Only gripe about this spot.

We ate here after Sunflower ignored us at our table long enough for us to leave. This is 5 stars for what this is… a quick and friendly place to get relatively inexpensive food. The service was great, very prompt and very thorough. I got a vermecelli noodle bowl with egg rolls and pork and it was very good. My friend got the beef and broccoli and enjoyed it as well. The food came out very quickly, too. We would definitely eat here again.

In the realm of food, there are few things that make me happier than a quality protein over rice. I’ve been here once before and had their chicken phở and wasn’t’ a big fan. Not their fault, I can comfortably admit now that I’m not a fan of chicken phở. However, their sliced pork dish over rice dish is awesome. It’s also a huge portion, the pork is seasoned perfectly, under $ 10 bucks and comes with friendly service! A guy can’t ask for much more than that. Oh, and there’s a fried egg on top which is included, not extra(I’m looking at you nearly every trendy new restaurant!). As Mr. Bourdain exclaims about himself, «I’m a total egg slut.» Well, so am I. With fewer and fewer places in Austin, or so it seems, filling you up with one dish for a single digit price, that makes this place even more appreciated.

On a cold day the best food options is some nice steamy phở! I met my friend up for lunch. We ordered some shrimp spring rolls and phở. I enjoyed the springs rolls but maybe it was because I was starved. The rice paper was tender which is important. Sometimes the rice paper wrapping can be tough and that’s super annoying. I got the large phở with flank steak and brisket. Broth was super flavorful and there was so much meat! There was soup for days for sure which is just what the doctor ordered for a cold Austin day. What can I say about the service. They were nice and they got everything out that we wanted. Good food, decent service. What more can you ask for.
