First off I’m a south Austinite, not some yuppie scum that’s settled in North Austin. What I experienced tonight was downright stupid at the Burnet location. So all my Micro GPen coils went out and I was going in to see if they even carried replacement parts. Turns out they did! It was pretty awesome and the gal who helped me out(she said she was new) was super helpful and allowed me to locate the perfect replacement tank for my vaporizer. Things were looking up! Especially since I had nabbed the last micro tank they had in that box. $ 16, not bad with a $ 5 markup, I’m cool with that. NO issue there at all. Even the GPen Vapes are only marked up and extra $ 10, thats also very fair. So I go home with a brand new tank with a brand new coil. I return home and go unplug the GPen and turn it back on with the triple tap of the button. Soon as a do that I notice smoke coming from the button and I immediately dropped it. It smelt like toxic melting plastic inside so I had to pick it up with BBQ tongs and put the damn thing outside on the concrete. No telling what that battery was fixing to do. At this point I’m thinking well this new tank is fucking useless, let me see if I can return it? Hey! The receipt looks optimistic… it states«No Returns on the Following Items: Scales, Baggies, Vitamin Supplements, VAPORIZERS, Sale Items, or System Cleansers» I hadn’t even taken it out of the box yet so back in the car I go… Walk back in thinking to myself, I’m going to return this part and simply pickup a new GPen setup altogether for the $ 70. It’s a win win for everyone. THATSWHERESHITGOTSTUPID. With one of the most ridiculous gesturers I’ve seen a donkey make this girl behind the counter(the non-helpful one) waved her arms in the air like I had sneezed in her face and started blabbering«ahhh mannnn yeaaaa… we just don’t touch items like that you know? not vaporizers nahhhh sorry, we just don’t» Excuse me your Receipt… I haven’t even took the damn thing out of the box. So this is what I can’t fathom… this tank is obviously a selling item at your store, it won’t sit around. YOUWILLMAKEYOUR $ 16. 1) Return my Item 2) Make a $ 70 Sale 3) Sell my Returned Item to some other nitwit 4) All you lose is the credit card transaction fee. She had no logical response. Very lame. This type of stupid policy and/or your personal code of customer service ethics will continue to land you at Thundercloud, PlanetK, Kerbeylane, and if you’re lucky that shithole of a tattoo parlor you were hiding in next door prior to finally walking your ass back to your job and ringing me up. Goddamn that run on sentence was justified. Not used to being treated like this at Oats. PS: There is plenty of room at the bottom of that receipt to include the words, Vaporizers & Vape Parts. Don’t roll your damn eyes at people and brush it off, «oh yea. we’ll take that into consideration»

Good products, not a trustworthy company though. Bought a Pax 2 oven lid, was told it could be returned within 10 days so long as its clean. Ended up not being the correct item I needed so I went to return it, to find out they wont take it back. Receipt even mentions whats return able and whats not and they dont even follow their own policies. Ive spent several thousand in their stores and they just lost a loyal customer over $ 17 and laziness.

So many fun trinkets and things you don’t need here. Incense, gift items, pipes, other hippy things. Area is slightly ghetto but ghetto pockets here and there are pretty typical for north Austin.

Fair prices, helpfull service, and neat knick nacks are whats in store for anyone who enters Oat Willies :) Be forewarned that the parkinglot is a bit bumpy, and you’ll be just fine! They cary a great selection of tapestries, beautiful handcrafted wooden boxes, enchanting incenses(as well as the holders) and of course tobacco! Aside from the above mentioned, their collection of goods is at a steadily changing pace, so there is almost always something new to look at when I walk in :) For fans of the keep austin classic movement, I say ‘All aboard!’

So I’ve heard a lot of complaints from friends about the customer service here sucking, but everyone was so awesome and helpful with me today. Usually shop at planet k but was in the area, glad I did. They have a lot of neat stuff I can’t find at planet k. Successful shopping trip.

Well, I decided to go check them out based on the Unilocal reviews and: I LOVE this shop! The staff will help you out with any questions you have and are super friendly and also wrap your purchases really well so they don’t get broken in transit. Also, did I expect to find the COOLEST umbrella ever at a head shop? Nope, but I did! Katana umbrella for the win! Will absolutely be back!

If a classy head shop exist, it would be Oat Willies on Burnet. Love this place! Quiet, friendly, affordable, great selection. Skip their rude neighbor up the street, the Gas Pipe, and drive a little further. definitely worth a stop.

I’m happy that Oat Willies is in my neighborhood and that I may someday purchase a gift for my boyfriend from them… once I start getting paid. The staff seems nicer than the pricks at the Gas Pipe. Unfortunately as I was looking around specifically for bumper stickers and did not see one anywhere. Not an Oat Willies logo sticker or a Keep Austin Weird sticker, or a pot leaf sticker, or a Bob Marley sticker, or a my kid can kick your honor student’s ass sticker. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I didn’t see one sticker in the whole place. See I got a «new to me» car recently and want to slap some stickers on it, but I really don’t want to go to Gas Pipe or Planet K, but I guess I will have to. I will be back to Oat Willies though. I want to get some incense matches.

Checked out the newest Oat Willie’s location earlier, they haven’t done a grand opening yet, but they are open for business. The staff working today were super friendly. The layout is nice and open. We price shopped for the particular piece we were interested in( , also made in Austin!) and Oat Willie’s had the best price from the handful of shops we stopped in. I also think the rest of their pieces are better priced than other shops. Very happy to now have a north location of Willies to support!
