Cory James Tattoo

Great work, very easy to sit with great conversation! The black and gray work is excellent! Definitely recommend!

I can’t say enough good things about Cory’s work. He did all of my tattoos. That raven with the womans face? Yeah, I wear that proudly every day. It’s been a pleasure to see and then wear the amazingly creative designs he comes up with for me every time I go for another tattoo.
On the serious side, he’s gentle handed and didn’t dig when inking me at all. Very reasonably priced for one of the best artists in Austin (I didn’t give him that title,
did). He works quickly but extremely accurately.

I chose Cory for a tattoo that was under consideration for more than a year. During that time I spent several long search sessions reviewing Austin artists and their portfolios. I came across Cory in one of several articles found searching Google for the «best tattoo artists in austin».
I was looking for black and grey geometric work. My basic concept was a geometric howling wolf on my outside forearm, biomechanical trees up the outside of my arm, ending with a moon and outlined, radiating beams of light.
When I saw Cory’s style and portfolio of work, I was confident I’d found the right artist. I set up a consultation with him and showed up with 17 pages of printed inspiration pics of tattoos and art, plus a half-​page brief of bulleted points covering the subjects and themes. LOL. Maybe got a bit over-​zealous. But my idea and inspiration entailed a good deal more than my brief outline above. I wanted to share my whole vision, then let the artist interpret what I provided as they would.
Cory graciously reviewed what I gave him, heard my thoughts, and was enthusiastic to work on my concept. After my first session inking the wolf, I could not be happier with my choice of artist. He was a chill and down-​to-​earth guy to work with and the result is phenomenal. In fact, it looks better than what I envisioned.
The other subjects of the piece are still to be in inked within the next few months. I’ll post an update review with my final thoughts and a pic once complete.
