Many years ago, when Four Sons was still owned by the four sons who created it, this cleaners was one of the best hand-finished cleaners in town. I dropped off a men’s suit at this location recently, thinking that was still the case. Wish I would have read the latest reviews beforehand. Clothing isn’t cleaned there, it’s sent elsewhere, but it’s picked up and returned daily. My suit came back as scheduled the next day, but the jacket was pressed awkwardly for a human body to inhabit, and it had a new black mark down one sleeve. The woman who checked out my order had a huge open wound on her forehead. I felt like I was in a Monty Python skit. «Run away! Run away!» kept playing in my head. Rather than chance sending my suit back to the netherworld to be further abused, I paid my tab and left. There are better cleaners nearby, so convenience really isn’t an issue. I was just glad to get the suit back at this point. Lesson learned.

Four Sons WAS a great cleaners, but several months ago something happened. I went to pick up a wool coat and found a Jack Brown Cleaners truck in front of the store. I went in to get my wife’s coat and the attendant confirmed that Jack Brown Cleaners had purchased Four Sons Cleaners but had not changed the name. The wool coat I picked up was over steamed and had wrinkles all over it. The coat was shorter, the sleeves were so short Jack Brown Cleaners had turned out the end of the sleeve to try to extend them. I took it back to them. It came back untouched. They said they followed the cleaning instructions. I sent it back again they got the wrinkles out but the inner lining still sticks out on the sleeves. I will not be back again.

I can echo the same experience that others have had. Four Sons is a good cleaner… until they’re not, which seems to be inevitable. I’d been using Four Sons for about a year, and had mostly good results. They occasionally screwed up, like a rash of destroyed buttons, but would handle the problem quickly. That’s all I ask of a business… I don’t care if you screw up, most of us do from time to time… it’s how you handle it that matters. The first larger problem came around the beginning of the year. I picked up the right number of shirts, but discovered at home that 2 of the shirts were someone else’s. I brought them back, and they apologized, telling me that the other person likely has mine. They didn’t. It took longer than it should have, but they finally agreed to pay for 50% of the cost(due to depreciation), which I accepted to be done with it, though they should have covered the full cost(if you lose something, I shouldn’t be out half the cost). The final straw came a few months later. I dropped off 3 shirts one day, that all came back with identical dual-pinpoint stains on the collar point. No idea what it was from, but they weren’t there before. They sent them back, and were able to get the stain out of the first two, but the third went back multiple times without success. I wasn’t too worried, and figured that they would either get it out, or replace the shirt, which was new. To my surprise, they told me that it must have been my fault, and that, if the stain was their fault, it would have happened to everybodys’ shirts, not just mine. I explained the unlikeliness of me getting three identical stains like that on three shirts that I brought in at the same time, but they simply said that it was not their problem. So… lesson learned. Take the advice of a number of us who have all had similar problems with Four Sons, even after using them for awhile without problems, and avoid these guys. I’ve taken my decent chunk of business to the cleaner down the road(who got the stain out on the first try).

Went to pick up the handbag today, uncleaned. Surprise! New damage! The clerk handed over my item to me, wrapped in plastic. Because of how badly things had been going with this business thus far, I did a cursory inspection of my property before I left, and lo, there is ink from a ballpoint pen on this damned purse! I asked the woman working there about it, she stated that she had no idea how that would have happened but did not think it was their fault. Because they have been so joyful to work with thus far, I have no faith that they will take care of their mistake here, but just wanted to update my review as an additional warning to other potential customers.

We’ve been using this place for a while for dry cleaning and shirt washing/pressing. Then I took a comforter in that needed to be dry cleaned. This was a brand new $ 200 comforter. I even double checked to make sure it was going to be dry cleaned and not washed. I am not sure what happened, but when we got it back, one end was all twisted up, the little thread ties(I guess what holds the inside to the cover) were loose/broken, and the comforter was lumpy. We expressed our concerns via their website. I will say this: they offered to try to fix the comforter. Great! They did say this can happen even when the comforter is dry cleaned. Really? It’s totally ruined. So we wait a couple of weeks and we get the comforter. It’s slightly less lumpy. One part of the comforter is all puckered(maybe where it was twisted). It’s not in the condition I gave it to them. I wrote another letter via their website last week and so far, I haven’t heard back. I am distraught I paid to have our new comforter destroyed! I think I should get a refund for the cost of the cleaning and the replacement value of the comforter. I had hopes this would work out since they offered to try to fix it. If anything changes, I’ll be sure to update my review, of course. However, sitting here with my ruined comforter, I guess I will find a new dry cleaner… and save for another comforter. :(

awesome cleaners! I wish the place had more info on pricing online but that’s my only downfall. Def. would advise to go here!
