The food here is surprisingly fresh and delicious. The only reason I’m giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the wait and greeting concerns. Me and my wife stood in a cramped space waiting to be sat while these poor people sat a couple feet from us obviously uncomfortable. They were packed and everyone was busy but it’s customary to greet your patrons as they enter. A little work need here. However, I will say that once we were sat the service and food was spot on. We ordered the Carpaccio and Salmon Tar Tar and then the lamb pasta and spaghetti for dinner. Me and my wife have been to Italy and we enjoyed the food here. Our server was I believe an Italian gentleman with glasses and a Bowtie who did a great job. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu.

Three visits after my first experience a couple of years ago, I decided that this review needs to be revisited, revamped, and updated. When I went to Cedro for the first time, the food was as bland as could be. I always wanted to go back, but that didn’t happen until a couple of months back, when I went for lunch. I had their Fig pizza(no bacon), with fig, pesto and something else, I forget. Point being, it was delicious. My faith, reinstated. Their lunch menu is different from their dinner menu; on which they have, drumroll… Gnocchi. Glorious, potato gnocchi. Potatoes stuffed, served with tomato sauce and basil. So good. It doesn’t hurt that their pastas are made in house, either. If the Italians ever invaded with this stuff, they’d win. There’s a rather long list of wines, which is totally wasted on me since I always have the cheapest wine on the menu, if the beer list isn’t impressive. They have about 5 beers on tap. Sunday brunch is between 10 – 3, different menu again. They like to keep it different, eh? The service is outstanding. At dinner today, restaurant overflowing with customers, our food came out on time and our waiter was nothing but genuinely polite. I don’t know why I am cutting back on that 5th star– but if they keep this up, they will be a force to be reckoned with. Cedro has officially knocked it outta the park.

Very disappointed in quality of food and service here, I strongly suggest finding other places to eat in cedar park for the cost and quality of food. We ordered two pasta dishes and we were both very disappointed in our meal and tables around us had not been cleaned the whole time we were at dinner… when talking to the waiter about our meal they tried arguing with us on why it tasted the way it did… having both worked in the customer industry we were very unhappy with the way we were treated. I strongly suggest other dinning options in cedar park

I’m Italian from upstate NY so I guess I can be a little picky. Some minor issues with the place from our experience –We were one of the first in and the last to get our food. We also had to ask for drink refills. Limited menu and the food was ok. The people that came in after us and got their food well before us would probably rate their experience much better. Food was not great at least of the three things we got which was the seafood pasta, steak, kids pasta. Definitely still looking for more good Italian options.

Happy hour all night on Mondays; $ 5 calamari a great deal. Complimentary rosemary focaccia with a white bean dip to start also. We ordered the fettuccini carbonara and the lamb orichette. The pasta for both dishes were freshly made and cooked perfectly. We had a little wait on one of the dishes due to an error and we were comped dessert, which was unexpected and thoughtful touch.

Loved, loved, loved this Italian place by Alamo Drafthouse. Fresh made pasta and locally owned. I had the fettuccini and my sons had a lamb dish and spaghetti. All were fantastic! Oh and the chickpea spread for the focaccia bread was awesome!

What a great dinner and service! I had the special(pork chop with sweet potato purée & spinach). My wife had the salmon. Both dishes were excellently! I will post a couple of pictures. We will definitely be back to try the more traditional Italian fare. All of the food that exited the kitchen looked wonderful. Do yourself a favor and try this eatery… You can’t go wrong. My only complaint is the echo effect that the high ceilings create. They need sound deadening material to add some warmth to the space. That said… don’t let that be a deal killer for visiting this gem. New visit: the spaghetti & meatballs were good as well. I suggest requesting additional pomodoro sauce as it might be a bit dry for some tastes. Meatballs rocked!

We went here for HH and ended up being the only table for a good two hours or so before people were actually dining here. This place is hard to find! Their sign is tiny and it is hidden behind a tree. Just park yourself at Alamo Drafthouse, face Alamo and turn your head to the left! You will find it easiest this way. The waitress was super duper nice and very helpful. We ordered several appetizers and a pizza. The calamari was perfectly cooked as far as the texture but it was super greasy! We also got a lemon risotto which came out served in the shape of balls. They were big meatball-looking balls the size of a baseball. The sauce was not just resembling lemon or a little zest. It was VERY lemony so you should only order if you like overwhelming amounts of lemon. My wife lovesssssss lemon but it was still too acidic for her. We also got a caesar salad which was actually pretty good and topped the night off with a mushroom pizza with truffle oil. The size of the pizza was great but the toppings were a bit salty. The mushrooms were over salted and the truffle oil was just kind of dripping everywhere instead of being infused into the pizza. Their house wines(white and red) are a dollar off at HH and the white wine was quite delightful and all of their desserts are made in house. We tried the tiramisu and it was really really good so maybe we will come back for some dessert next time. hehe There is plenty of parking everywhere.

Tried this place out for Sunday brunch. The outdoor patio was pretty full but there were a lot of empty tables in the dining room. Very clean, modern décor. The brunch menu has a variety of options — pancakes, eggs, omelette, frittata. Mimosas are $ 5. I had the frittata which was really tasty with Italian sausage, tomatoes, and breakfast potatoes on top. My husband had the pasta carbonara. The pasta was really good and fresh. The butter and cheese spaghetti on the kids menu was also delicious. I’d like to go back for dinner to try another pasta dish. Just a note to families– I don’t think this place is totally kid-friendly. Got some nasty looks from a waiter when my son spilled some noodles on the floor(I picked it up). I know, I know. Taking kids to restaurants can be risky. Next time we’ll come sans the kiddo.

Visited this restaurant this weekend for my boyfriend’s birthday. I was a little confused upon arrival because there wasn’t anyone at the front of the restaurant to greet/seat us. Our server also wasn’t very helpful but the food was fantastic. We ordered the arancini as an appetizer and it was refreshing and light. The lemon risotto had just the right amount of lemon and wasn’t the least bit overpowering. I ordered the gnocchi and my boyfriend ordered the fettuccine carbonara. Both dishes were done really well. The pasta is made in-house and you can definitely tell by the taste. I plan on returning and trying some more dishes on the menu.

Great personal atmosphere and Italian food that easily welcomes a date night or a family night. Great attention from the staff and really flavorful and fresh Italian food. This is not your chain style place so you will pay a higher price for the food and it is worth it. I personally enjoy the Gnocchi, the grilled asparagus, and the Fettuccine Alfredo with a soft boiled egg. All of the pasta is fresh and good. The Gnocchi were like floating pillows of happiness in a bath of fresh tomatoes. The Fettuccine noodles were a buttery cream in an Alfredo sauce that you really enjoy while the soft boiled egg yolk connects all the goodness of the bowl. The menu is not long and each item has its place in each dish, so they do not overdo it at all. If you are looking for a truly nice meal with family, friends, a date, or other. come get it here where the staff takes care of you and the chef makes it perfect. I really enjoyed the food.

On a lazy Saturday Afternoon, I dropped by. I had business in the area, and decided to try a new place the Lakeline Mall area. Used Unilocal(app) and found this place… I was not disappointed, and met James(the owner) and Arnulfo(server) who took care of me. They make their own pasta, and decided to go for the Tagliatelle Bolognese. Very nice. I highly recommend it if you like meat sauce and noodles. later I had the Pecan Tart, which it was not too sweet, and it was topped with a small scoop of ice cream. Made it all go down so well. Very nice touch. Both James and Arnulfo was attentive, they took care of their guests, and the atmosphere was casual… I appreciate them letting me sit, and update my presentations /email while passing some time… I will be back when I come by this neighborhood again.

Great place, delicious food and cordial staff. Breakfast pizza, omelet and chicken pesto arugula pizza was very good. First time here but I’ll be back! Nice background music, nice décor, patio seating looks nice, will try it when there’s a nicer weather.

As most of the people here have already stated, it’s hard to find good Italian food here in Austin. And when you do, it’s ridiculously overpriced. This was a refreshing surprise, and I don’t regret coming in. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly fried(not drenched in grease like at other places). We came in during Happy Hour, so it was only 5 bucks!(I love a good deal). I had the gnocchi and my honey got the pappardelle, both of which were spot on. We finished off the meal with a slice of tiramisu, which I must say is the best I’ve had in Austin. Overall, it was a great dining experience. I’m glad to have found a good Italian spot here in town. I’m not really sure why there were some negative feedback regarding price because everything was super reasonable. Either way, I have to come back to check out the brunch everyone keeps talking about!

Yum yum yum. Came here for the first time the other night before heading over to a movie at Alamo Drafthouse. Ordered a bottle of Pinot Noir that was okay. Our server, though attentive, had some strange accent that made it literally IMPOSSIBLE to understand anything she said. Kinda frustrating but whatever. About the food. We ordered 2 pizzas. The fig pizza and the chicken pesto pizza. FREAKING. HEAVEN. Fig pizza was slightly sweet yet savory and delicious. I would order it Every time I go for sure. The Chicken pesto pizza was awesome too. But the fig was the superstar. Go get some. My only issue is that I LOVE leftover pizza. This style of pizza was not good leftover the next day. Not at all. Bummer. But worth it to eat it in house.

You make fresh pasta? I’m there in a heartbeat. It’s rare for new/non-chainy restaurants to pop up in North Austin-it’s like a unicorn. But I found a unicorn-not only is it non-chainy but it’s good too boot. Double unicorn. The entrance it and layout is a bit weird. It’s long with the bar at the end. They do have a patio which is another bonus. The décor is modern. We had the arugula salad. Not gonna lie I was hesitant when the husband wanted it. I’m weird on honey dressings. I don’t like sweet dressings but it was good. The pasta menu was like Sophie’s Choice for me. Too many good options-what to choose!!! We had the gnocchi and the tagliatelle with bolognese. Big winners on both. I hate when restaurants give you tiny pasta portions. Cedro did not disappoint. The gnocchi were huge!!! Pillowy soft with a wonderful tomato sauce. The tagliatelle had a great chew and the bolognese was hearty and meaty. My only disappointment was the crème brûlée. The sugar crust was so thick-it was like breaking into Fort Knox. Don’t get me wrong I love a good sugar crust but unless they’re hiding gold in there-ain’t nobody got time to break in for that desert.

Fresh pasta here at Cedro is spot on delicious. This is pasta for those people wanting it fresh, homemade, unique. The exact opposite of Olive Garden. I had the tagliatelle with ragu sauce, it was incredible, massive portion, too. Prices are moderate($ 16) but you do get a large portion, so that’s fair. Go at happy hour and apps are only $ 5 bucks. My only complain was ambience. It was kind of sterile. Nothing on walls. Barely could hear any background music. That needs some work, but they’ve nailed the food. For Italian foodies, I say check it out!

Sexy setting that I can not wait to take to my special someone to… check! Ample wine list so I can get a little tipsy… check! Great happy hour so I can try tons of appetizers for the price of 5 bucks a pop… check! Attentive service that allows me to relax and know I will be taken care of… check! Great covered patio so I can enjoy some outdoor dining… check! I really like the décor and the over all atmospere of this place. The food does not live up to the presentation, everything was tastey. The issue is that the food isn’t great. It’s not a place I would visit on a special occasion. The pizza and salads are creative and fresh. I tried the fig pizza and I found it to me everything one could expect. I also tried the dates wrapped in bacon and I only wished that I had a few orders of them because they were really yummy. I ordered the mussels and honestly I wish I skipped them. I knew when they were placed on the table they were a bit past their prime. This not a place I would drive across town to visit. This is an acceptable place to vist if you live in the area. I would much rarther visit this place and skip visiting one of the chain resturants in the North Austin/Cedar Park area. I hope they stick around. It is nice to have some variety in this area. I will say this I would stop in at this place any night of the week for a glass of wine and conversation. Did I mention… they have Moscato! Happy hour is 4:30 to 6 the apps are just $ 5

We had time to kill before a free screening at Alamo and thought something new sounded good for dinner. The entrance is ass backwards, if you blink you will miss it, but once we found it all was well. We were the only guests there(echo.) so service was stellar. The inside is clean, modern with an Italian flare. All appetizers were $ 5 for happy hour so we each got our own and then a pizza to share. I ordered the house chianti and it was very nice. The man got calamari and for myself, Arancini. The lemon risotto in the arancini paired so nicely with the tomato sauce and fresh herbs. It was heaven! And I cannot forget to mention the bread! A salty rosemary focaccia roll per guest but what sends it over the top is the spread they give you for it. Butter? Nope. It was a purée of cannellini beans and garlic. If they were to put that over warm pasta as a sauce with say some bacon it would make me the happiest girl on the planet. So delicious. We stuck with the classic margherita pizza and like everything else we had, it was great. They bring out fresh cracked pepper, shaved Parmesan, and crushed red chili flakes for your pizza. No powdered shakers in this joint! All around yum with a cool staff to boot. Bravo Cedro!

Cedro has now been opened for more than ½ year and I feel an honest update is in order. They have added brunch and lunch portions, which is more reasonably priced. First, they really need to have someone in the main dining room at all times. I came in for a late lunch recently, waited because no one was in the dining area. We finally called out and our server came out. Another couple came in after us, they decided to seat themselves after waiting at the door. Maybe they need to put a sign up to seat yourself. Once we got seated, our service was good. The name is a bit misleading. Cedro is not a pizzeria, so I’d avoid getting pizza. To me, it’s more of an Italian fusion, focusing on fresh, handmade pastas. The fresh pastas are good, but I’m not a fan of the sauces. I prefer a lighter, fresh sauce on my pastas, which they use to do. The spaghetti sauce now is too thick and tomato-paste like. I think the sauces overpower the fresh pasta. The pasta dishes were fine, but not good enough for the ~$ 20/entrée during dinner. If I pay this much for an entrée, I want the food to be innovative or excellent. The lunch menu has sandwiches, salads, and pastas for $ 12 and under. I like that you can order a la carte — order the main, then add sides. I would stick to pastas here, which appears to be almost as big as dinner portions. The chicken sandwich had grilled chicken, bacon and cheese in between focaccia. The filling was fine, but I did not like their focaccia. The bread was sliced too thick and inconsistent, requiring a mouth like Steven Tyler to bite through. The focaccia here is too dry and dense, and did not have the slathering of olive oil that I’m familiar with. HH is probably the best value. The prices are great during HH for appetizers and generally speaking, they have excellent prices on wines.
