Buca di Beppo Italian Restaurant

Service was horrible. My server forgot about us after taking our order. Tracked her down and politely asked if there was a problem. She said they were under staffed. Beware that you might need to plan on an extended stay. They need some help.

We had a reservation for a Friday night, and after reading some of the previous reviews about the service, I was a little worried. Fortunately, our experience was dramatically different. The hostess was friendly and our waiter, Carlos, was great. He was super attentive and apologized (unnecessarily) for how long the delay on the food. We had a baby and a 3 year old with us, and even by their standards, the food really didn’t take long at all.
We ordered a small appetizer and a small entrée for my husband and I and still had plenty to take home. The white sangria was also a highlight.

Horrible… Salad soggy, entrée lukewarm… Sorry to see a restaurant chain that was great so long ago get bought out by Planet Hollywood and go downhill.

Dinner for 2 Saturday night with a reservation.
After reading many reviews regarding the family size portions, we decided that 1 small size appetizer and 1 small size entrée would be the right amount of food and it was.
We had the Chopped Antipasti Salad which was excellent
The Lasagna was even better; Great sauce.
The White Sangria was very refreshing and well priced.
Service was friendly the food was very tasty. We’ll come back.

This is the 5^th and last time we will order from this location. We always order takeout. In the past we have ordered the mixed green salad. It has come to us with no prosciutto and gorgonzola although we specifically asked that it be added. So I basically paid 20 dollars for lettuce. Today we ordered it with extra dressing and got some sort of dressing that I have never seen, nor would I ever order, nor is it the dressing that is supposed to come with the salad. They also decided to add tomatoes to the salad even though they are not supposed to be a part of it. The chicken parmesan came and was actually VEAL parmesan although the note on the bag specifically says CHICKEN. On the plus side they have managed to screw up every order that I have placed with them so they get points for consistency. Bye Felicia.

Tried this location for Mother’s Day because our experience at the Capital of Texas location was pretty good. However, it was clear from the get-​go the restaurant was ill prepared for an occasion as this. Our waiter was fine, but it took an hour and a half to receive our food and it was average at best when it finally arrived. The waiter acknowledged our long wait and apologized. But, there was no attempt to comp any part of the meal, give us a free dessert or anything. We won’t be going back. Very disappointed.

First time at this location we didn’t realize it was going to be actually connected to the Lakeline mall google directions were difficult… Otherwise service Excellent Joshua was the go to guy helpful informative, food good.

My delivery lunch order was lost in the shuffle…
When I called to inquire about a lunch order (for 30 people) I’d placed the day before he searched and searched and couldn’t find it. Apparently the woman who took the order (and payment) had a family emergency and didn’t relay the message. NOT TO WORRY! He jumped on the order and had it to us in under an hour. The customer service by this restaurant was unbelievable. Very impressed. Thank you Bucca!!!

The service here was absolutely fantastic — excellent job Josh — really knowledge, attentive and helpful.
The food was great but beware this is traditional Italian eating, two appetizers and one entrée was enough for four adults.
Will definitely be back.

The staff was exceptional yesterday. Very helpful and courteous. We had Spicy Chicken Rigatoni and Chicken Parmesan, and both were very tasty. Will visit again.

Working hard at the Elections Headquarters makes a team very hungry! We had a great carry out meal with Chicken Carbonara, baked rigatoni with sausage, garlic bread and tossed salad. Had enough for our crew and all the temporary workers who came into help! Fantastic flavors!
New management in the front of the house and new Chef in the kitchen. Check them out!

We have been to this Buca di Beppo location on three occasions. The first was to have pizza, which was fine. The second occasion was just after Christmas, 2015 and we took our visiting family with two grandchildren. The restaurant was not especially busy, but the wait to order and the subsequent wait for the food was ‘way too long! As we were starving and had only been given water, a hostess graciously brought some garlic-​cheese bread as she could tell we were getting panicky. When it finally arrived the entrees were acceptable, except for the Veal Marsala, which was tough as old shoe leather, absolutely inedible. Complaining to the waitress brought the quippy response: «Oh, well, at least the pasta rocks, right?» No offer to replace the entrée, no apology, no offer to reimburse. We paid the bill and left.
The third occasion my wife and I thought, OK why not give them another chance… the pizza was good? When we arrived at Buca at Lakeline, the place was almost empty at 4 p.m. on a weekday. We ordered a pizza and were told the kitchen was out of pizza dough, and had no way to make any more for the dinner shift! This, in a restaurant that has pizza on the menu as a main item! Unbelievable! And no excuse or explanation from the manager, who was clearly stressed out just by working there.
My take on this location is that the whole restaurant needs an overhaul, new management, far better training for staff and cooks, with a very keen focus on customer satisfaction! Until that happens, avoid like the plague!

UPDATE: Received reply from them, they wanted my contact info so someone can get in contact with me, I gave them it! A month went by and no communication. I’m not surprised!

Ordered food for pickup and got there right on time. I had a $ 50 gift card and a $ 10 one from my birthday. Waited a few minutes and the food was ready. Then the bartender told me my $ 10 gift card could not be used for this order because I was also using a coupon and it was considered a coupon too, even though it looks just like a gift certificate.
I asked if I could use it for a desert and make a new order. Yes I could so we ordered Italian crème cake. The bartender already seemed a little irritated and unfriendly but after this was more cold and with an attitude. Wish I would have been working with the other bartender that was friendly and happy.
We waited another 20+ minutes just to get our cake to go. A ridiculous amount of time when it should have taken less than a few minutes. They were not busy, it was around 3:30 pm. I was not told it would be a few more minutes or it’s coming soon. Just sat there with my dinner in a bag waiting and waiting with the bartender walking by me back and forth several times.
Bill was over $ 100 and our food was not hot and not that great. Not worth the price! I should have received double the amount for that price.

This place must be heaven! You have to wait for an eternity to get served…
Food is ok.
Wine is good
I’ve had more water and bread to feed Africa.

Update: they called to get my address to send a gift card. They didn’t even want to discuss my experience at the restaurant. This was 4 weeks ago and nothing has accused. This could be one of the worst run companies out there .

I don’t even know where to start about the horrible experience we just had there. They told us there was. 15 minute wait when we arrived even though there were only 5 tables in the entire restaurant occupied. We were finally sat and ordered drinks. The restaurant had several tables with old dirty plates on them.
When we asked for bread we were told they were out. My daughter wanted pizza, they were out. When you are out of break and pizza you should let people know before they wait for a table. We settled on other items. It took 1 hr to bring us spaghetti and meatballs and a bowl of noodles. Our waiter never checked on us, refilled our water or ever took a salad plate or anything off our table. Even when we left the restaurant all of our plates were still on the table. The people that sat next to us for their food fairly quickly but had to send it back because it was cold.
One of the worst run restaurants in Austin. Don’t bother!!!

We decided to try this place, because they were open on Yulemas. At best they remind me of Olive Garden. The food was mediocre.
The service was… strange. I’m very big on the server always paying attention. This server did pay attention, but too much in the wrong areas. A bottle of wine came out with water glasses. We had to specifically request wine glasses to go with our bottle of wine.
To be honest I doubt we will come back here. I’ll go to Magianno’s for great Itallian food and great service, instead.

Not very impressed at all… Food quality was very poor. I ordered soup and salad and had to send my soup back as it was cold. When I finally got my soup it looked so disgusting I didn’t eat it.
I think it’s safe to say that we will not be back.

I hate to admit it-​but I have had much better experiences than the one I just had. In honor of celebrating my boyfriends birthday, he had mentioned he had never been to Buca (shocker-​I know). Anyways-​I called to make a reservation just for two and let them know that we are celebrating a birthday. And usually-​at most Buca’s-they do the big hoopla celebration and embarrass the individual, which is exactly what I wanted to celebrate not only a birthday, but your first time eating there.
We got to the restaurant and clearly when you are eating around 8pm at night-​you don’t really need a reservation. Still-​I reminded them that I had a reservation and it was for a special birthday occasion. Our server was good, attentively checked with us periodically and at the end of the night, there was no birthday celebration with staff members trailing in site. Although dinner was good, I was still disappointed that there was no birthday celebration.
In the end, the food at Buca is always good, but the over experience was just deflating. And especially if you are bringing someone who has never been there before, you’d like to show them how amazing the experience is when going to Buca. Will I go there again for a birthday celebration-​probably not.

Wow, Where to start
The food, amazing, simply amazing and worth every penny. Never disappointed with the quality and never walk away hungry either (in fact I have never left without a to-​go care package).
The service, well this is going to take a little work.
I am a clown often, especially when those around me are enjoying it and joining in. We sat in the kitchen — best seats in the place I swear and not a single person who passed by including the cooks didn’t get involved in the fun. Each person a big smile, and enjoying the fact that they can just have fun with a table while working. The individual who was our official waiter was a gentleman who seemed at first to be mild mannered, but once he realized what we were like, he was happy to oblige and join in with us having fun, even teasing me with cannoli’s since I cannot have them (it’s a diet goal and I cannot want to have one again).
Not one would I happily go back, I recommend you go there as well in fact you should be there while reading this! Are you there yet? Can you bring me some more of the cheesy garlic bread please to go along with the Chicken Parmesan, Italian Broccoli Romano and Spicy Chicken Rigatoni

We signed up on their website for email coupons & went for the first time today. We had a free pasta coupon. The choices were I believe: fettuccine alfredo, spaghetti, or baked ziti. I chose the free baked ziti. It was very good. My hubby picked the baked lasagna. Also exceptional. The portions are big. Now I got a free baked ziti w/​a coupon and you’d assume it would be a small portion. Oh nooooo, it was huge. In my opinion, 2 – 3 people could have easily shared it. (we had to take home a good sized to go box. And yes, we will gladly devour the remains for dinner tonight). And we also received yummy bread and olive oil. Plus we each had a glass of tea. (nothing better than good tea on a 100 degree day in Texas). Everyone was very friendly from the hostess, and also the manager, to Meagan our waitress. This location is in Lakeline Mall. Stop by for lunch or dinner & ask for Meagan. We will be back here soon!
