I used to really love it but food is getting worse and service sucks! I initially thought It was going to improve that It was a matter of time but it didn’t. Not coming back again!

Food is ok, service is awful. Currently sitting outside waiting for a table to be cleaned. Old food everywhere and we’ve asked twice! 20 minutes later… No food and no clean table. Gross.

Odd set up, food was cold, one staff member was yelling, it was a weird experience. Expensive too for the quality.

Came here on a lunch day and they got my order wrong. That, believe it or not, is an opportunity. The staff impressed me with their concern to correct the mistake. They were extremely earnest and even gave me a gift card. I’d really like to thank Manager Nichole, she was the star of the show for and upset but ultimately happy customer!

4 stars??? for a chain restaurant??? hahaha yes. I honestly love this place for an inexpensive(especially for Austin) date. 1) Parking is easy peasy 2) Ambiance is nice but casual– you come in here and feel like you’re in a country home somewhere in France with just a 10 minute drive away 3) They have a shaded patio where you can eat out on a nice day — not much of a view(parking lot) but it’s still nice to get some fresh air. 4) If you order the right food, it’s a 5 star experience– my favorites: lemon tart, vanilla berry tart, any of their salads with their amazing rotisserie chicken, tomato basil soup, croque monsieur.(skip their other cold sandwiches– meh…) 5) Free bread & jam & butter so you’ll never leave hungry

I’ve been to this location off and on since it first opened. It’s super close and I and my son just LOVE the country potato soup. It’s our thing. Yes, the service is inconsistent. Sometimes it’s very good and sometimes you wait and wait for your food. I’ve tried the Croque Monsieur and French Dip, but was underwhelmed. It was too dry and bland. The meat had no flavor. I guess I’m spoiled from Bartlett’s perfect French Dip. From now on, I just stick to the soup and the desserts. I do love the ambiance and we really don’t have many french options in the ‘burbs.

The service was so so so bad. they weren’t even busy. No one seemed to want to take care of us and they made us wait around just to get a bowl of soup. If we weren’t waiting on a movie time at the Alamo, I don’t think we would have even waited but since we had time to kill(and waste apparently) that is what we did.

Technically I don’t work here yet so I will post my review NOW. If you go in at 1:20−2pm on a Monday it can be kinda slow. At least it was yesterday. I’m not too familiar with the menu, but They have Quiche, and Salads and Sandwiches pretty sure. You can look at the menu yourself. Its French Country Café, I actually sat down at a table near people that were actually speaking French. Aside from all that, The atmosphere is just lovely, they do have a large patio and lots of indoor space as well. There’s even a private room for business meetings. They of course serve wine. Its a French Restaurant so they’re obligated. It was very quiet aside from the music that was at just the right level and if I had ordered a glass of wine(which I didn’t because I went in for an interview) A glass of wine in my hand would have been the perfect addition. I could visualize it in my head. It just seems like the right thing to do.

What happened to this place? Dirty dishes stacked on half the tables while staff stood around. When I asked for someone to bus my table and clean the table, I was given a wet rag! I did it myself. Three of the last four times, the order delivered to my table has either been missing items or was the wrong thing entirely. Staff seems checked out and unengaged. This location needs a management overhaul. Poorly run!

Service is terrible. Waited 25 minutes during a slow time for a large salad, cup of soup, half a sandwich and side salad. Not because they were busy. Manager doesn’t care to deal with issues. He doesn’t even apologize. Woman taking to go orders was very nice but she is dealing with line staff that don’t know what they are doing. So disappointed in this location.

Two stars because the food was tasty, service was Slooooow. I waited in line to eat there(dine-in) at 12:15. By 12:30 the line hasn’t moved a single inch. I decided to get my order to go and it went a little faster. Walked out at 12:50 and only ordered a salad. Why do they only have one cashier person taking orders? The«old school» Le Madeline restaraunts(Round Rock and Arboretum locations) are a «cafeteria style» where you are able to get your soup, salad and quiche/galette right as you go and you only wait for the hot(cooked food). It goes much faster They should go back to what works.

La Madeleine — Lunch — The food is pretty good for a «fast food» restaurant. Prices are reasonable, the portions are on the«light» side — which is ok. The menu is a little out of the ordinary. Ordered the half sandwich & soup — Turkey Bistro & White Bean & Vegetable Soup(cup). The sandwich is tasty, the soup was hot. No complaints. $ 7.48 — not bad! Service was quick & courteous — restaurant not very crowded(Friday/1:00pm)

I wouldn’t even give a star if I didn’t have to. Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever received. To be told«next time tell us if you don’t want the sauce» how about this was my first time here and I did not know the item was doused in a cream and it was not noted on the description card that was in front of it. Hire people with some tact, not some snotty nosed kid telling me it’s my fault. None of us ate our food, and I will never return. Thanks for nothing!

I love La Madeleine. This location gets 1 star because their staff needs to get it together. I get the same thing every visit but I wanted to try soup and I had never had it there. I asked what soup was vegetarian and they had no idea what so ever. The 2 cashiers asked a handful of employees plus someone in the kitchen and noone knew. I just find that odd that you work at a restaurant and have no idea what is in the food. I also asked about how a food was and was told, that he had no idea. How do you work here and not know about the food??? The location is obviously new and the staff is lucky to be working with new equipment but wow, try the food!

Two stars, but only for the excellence of the staff. The manager, Nicole, is absolutely wonderful. Very friendly and helpful. We had a… Lackluster meal experience at best. The French Onion soup was awful. Watery, barely a broth with a handful of vaguely cooked onions. The Caesar salad was good and the dressing very bright in flavor. The French Dip was mealy and the au jus was more flavorful than the soup I ordered. My companions’ order was only vaguely redeemed by the tomato basil soup. Apparently, they had difficulties with the hot plate they kept the quiches on. The one we had originally received was scorched on the bottom and the crust had gone the way of cardboard. The replacement one, fresh from the oven, was good. The turkey sandwich, replacing the unseasoned and awful textured roast beef, Nicole made for me was very good. I would definitely return to this location for the fantastic staff and delicious desserts(oh my gods, their éclair is beyond delicious!), but I not sure it’s an entrée occasion for nearly $ 15 a person.

I am a huge La Medeleine fan, but this particular location needs some serious help. We walked in and a younger lady was in front of asking for an application to work at the restaurant, the cashier had no idea where the applications were so she went and got the manager who also had no idea. While waiting 10 minutes for them to find the application the cashier could have had her step aside while she tended to us(and 3 – 4 other people in line behind us), but everyone had to wait for the manager to walk around(with a very slow pace) trying to find the correct paperwork. We finally got a chance to order and the cashier was just very awkward and slow in asking us what we wanted(she might have been new though so not a big deal). I specifically asked for the dressing of my salad to be mixed with the lettuce(to-go order which they usually give you dressing on the side). I checked my receipt as soon as I paid which said«Dressing on salad». We then waited around 15 – 20 minutes before I saw the same manager begin making our salads. It seemed like they were extremely understaffed for a Sunday afternoon. I can understand if someone called out sick or quit that day but the manager was working with absolutely zero urgency. The manager made the salad and put no dressing on which I asked her as soon as she bagged it to make it again and she looked at me rudely. She said I didn’t ask for dressing to be mixed, and I said check the receipt and she looked and just put her head down and started making a new one. She then begin to make my wife’s salad which has bacon on it. She bagged it up and I checked and noticed there wasn’t any bacon, she took another 2 – 3 minutes to go find where the bacon was and returned with it in a container. As I was leaving out the door I overheard another patron say«The soda machine isn’t working» Maybe it was just a bad day for this location, but having worked in retail you have to put up with it and show some urgency. If I saw her running around and going as fast as I thought she could, I would have been a little more patient and not written this review. Her lack of a good attitude and carelessness isn’t acceptable and I will not be back to this location.

Terrible. First of all there was one other family of 2 or 3 in front of us. I ordered a large tomato basil soup(already ready) a petite ceasar salad(prepared in seconds in front of you) and a chicken pesto sandwich. I walked out 27 minutes later. The salad was undressed. I tasted no ceasar dressing or any cheese. I used to adore this salad. Definitely not tonight. The large soup I paid for ended up being a small container(they gave me a smaller one), the pasta salad was fine. The piece de resistance was my sandwich. It was the most dry, cold, hard disgusting, skimpy filled thing ever.(see pic!) the bread was cold and hard Mike right out of a fridge or freezer. There was nothing on the disgusting hard bread to moisten it other than one little tomato round. The chicken was on hand my bread and just cold and nasty. It was inedible. Now tell me WHYTHEHELL did this take 27 mins? Clearly you made nothing fresh and no customers. I used to eat at La Madeleine for lunch ever single day but this restaurant cannot be called La Madeleine. It was awful. I wish I could just get my money back and forget in ever walked in there. The people working were nice. No complaints about them but they need a little more guidance and training. This was a to go order.

My old boss liked to refer to La Madeleine as «chick food» when I would bring it into the office for lunch. Yes, it’s no secret they love their soup and salads here but they have a lot of other great(hearty) dishes for the guys too. Their bakery is pretty legit as well. I’ve seen people come in and order loaves of bread to go, fruit tarts, napoleons, cheesecakes, and chocolate croissants. Back in my single girl days I used to come for coffee and dessert with a book and sit inside by their cozy fireplace. The coffee here is excellent, and they make specialty coffee drinks as well. I do indulge in the«chick food» because the salad sampler is my favorite thing on their menu. You get your choice of three items which can be: a cup of soup, a Caesar salad, one of their specialty salads, a chicken or tuna salad, pasta salad, fruit, or my personal favorite the strawberries Romanoff which are fresh juicy strawberries topped in a brandy sour cream sauce. Mama likes her boozy berries. You can play it up however you like too. If you want two of the same things, such as two sides of salad and a cup of soup they are cool with it. Last night I got a cup of tomato basil, my boozy berries, and a Cesar salad with fat free dressing. Their tomato basil soup is the best on the planet! They even sell it by the jar at Costco. It might be because it’s laced with heavy cream, but all good things in life are. Take some of their free bread for dunking and when you do, don’t forget to grab the complimentary strawberry jelly samples! They are oh so good. I had to fight the urge to take some lemon madeleines home with me, a real must try if you go. They are the perfect companion to a cup of coffee. I still need to try breakfast here someday.

I’m a pretty loyal lover of La Madeleine café, as you can scroll through my other posts. I can be pretty critical of this place, I think I’ve dined at the La Madeleines’ for 15 years, at least 1,000 times. Today was my first time to visit this new location, I was impressed. The service was very friendly, from the cashier, the manager, the food runner – they were all nice. I had my go to comfort plate, the duet magnifique, a chicken salad croissant, spinach salad on the side and my favorite French onion soup which were all perfect. Here is a breakdown of what you can expect: The ambience was nice, a lot of natural light throughout, the yummy case of the desserts when you walk in, more private bench seating, very nice bathrooms, distressed wood flooring, nice straw and wood chairs, distressed oversized tables for large groups or families that need some extra space, a huge outdoor covered seating area, lots of seating in separated rooms, a party room which is perfect for baby showers, the lovely fire place that is a signature of La Madeleine. After all these years, I find that they offer 10% off to military, why on Earth did they not give this to me in the past, I don’t know but they say they offer it now, so good move La Madeleine, I love you just a little bit more now :)

A new La Madeleine has opened in the Lakeline mall located next to Cedros. Tried them for breakfast and they do it well They serve the standard menu. Three separate eating sections, two with fireplace near by. The staff was extremely friend which could be because they were void of other customers. Not sure if this is a good thing for me considering my weakness for pastries. It is good that there is another alternative for breakfast in the area
