Katherines French Bakery, Cafe, & Catering

My review is for the Katherine’s on University and I posted it there.

A place I’ve buzzed by too numerous times to count. Finally had a reason to stop by.
I cruise the South part of S. Havana once or twice a week: H-​Mart, Happy Teriyaki, Costco, and a host of other shops dot the landscape. I’ve been peripherally aware of this shop.
One day, while heading to my Niece’s place for a party, I needed to pick up some dessert. I stopped in at Katherine’s, and found a bakery case filled with petit fors, pastries, cookies, cakes, all vying for my attention.
I settled for an assortment of little cookies. Days later, I get rave reviews for them! In the future, I’ll be stopping by for sandwiches, coffee, whatever!

Drive by here all the time and finally decided to check it out. Very good prices and quality food. Ordered the napoleon and a veggie quiche. Napoleon was perfectly sweetened and creamy, and the quiche was warm, custard-​y and had the right flavor.
Service is stellar, and they have a few tables and chairs to dine in. Though they are located in a generic strip, the café inside is cute and quaint. Can’t wait to come back and try everything else…

Oh la la! Katherine’s French Bakery and Café is a brilliant little stop along the ever so scenic Aurora Auto Mall. But seriously, Katherine knows how to make some treats. A great place to sit for coffee and tea while munching on salad or a sandwich. Oh and the desserts… my oh my there are some yummy desserts.
Yesterday, I got the turkey mango curry wrap to accompany my coffee. My wife grazed on a Nicoise salad and french onion soup. Yum! To top it off, we took home a variety of desserts — an almondine tartlette, a pineapple coconut tartlette, a rich mocha cake square, and a variety of cookies. All of which were absolutely superb.
The service is dynamite. With a cheery counterperson/​waiter/​host keeping the lively conversation flowing. Definitely my new favorite sandwich shop in the Denver area. If you can’t make it out there, they can cater and deliver the food to you.
