Ton of sandwiches ready-to-go, and quick to get folks in and out the door. Cannoli are good, but too smooth and too sweet for someone who wants to taste the ricotta. Pretty good, but there are better options. They do offer some other Italian pastry’s not available at other joints.

In town from CA for a few days and was lucky to have Mario put together a special meal for my family and I. The food was incredible — I hope the photos do it justice. The restaurant was packed, but the chef himself still found time to sit with us and share a few drinks. The staff works very hard and the team takes extreme pride in the food they serve and service they provide. I love this restaurant and hope to return someday soon. Don’t miss this spot!

This is Auburndale Square’s only sit-down restaurant and bar, and boy am I grateful for it. The bistro is small, has an old-world spirit yet a modern look, and the food is incredible. I’m not kidding. The owner, Mario(An Abruzzi native whose surname forms the restaurant’s name) conjures up a menu that easily rivals any North End mainstay. And you’ll always be surprised, because it changes nightly! All of the staff are so knowledgeable and attentive. Jessica makes a great cocktail and knows her wine, too. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food, too. If you’re not in the mood for Italian cuisine, they also offer excellent burgers and sandwiches on a static menu. If you find yourself in this oft-overlooked village of Newton, stop by, grab an «al fresco» seat on the sidewalk, and enjoy a great meal!

This is a really good neighborhood spot. The pasta is homemade and the service is warm. I had eggplant parm and it was really nice. Cappuccino came with a little sweet treat. Small dining room but relaxing warm environment.

My wife and I have been going to Boca Bella every week since it opened. Mario and Anthony make us feel right at home. Everything Mario makes is amazing especially his potato pancakes. The portions are enormous. I just had my 65th Birthday in their private party room for 40 people. Most of them had never been to Boca Bella but all of them will be coming back, because of the food that was served that night. They all told me the lobster rolls were the best they ever ate. Forget the North End and come to Boca Bella for great Italian Food.

Late evening, not wanting to go home. Driving. Oh! What’s this? Have you been here? Nope. Me neither. Coffee, light desert and quiet conversation in a romantic environment.

Lunch was absolutely fantastic and desserts were even better. Small so be sure to make Reservations. Try the specials as they truly are special! The owners run and work the place so they truly care about their customers. I will be back!

Went back today for a work lunch. I got the steak tips, one of the specials. The portion was not big enough for a child. It was 4 tiny steak tips with some plain rice and steamed broccoli. The broccoli wasn’t even seasoned. The steak tips were tasty but too small to fill an adult. I saw one of the other specials(pasta) and it was a normal portion. If I ever get stuck at this place again I will go with pasta so I can actually leave full. Our server also had the enthusiasm of someone at a funeral. Today was not a good experience.

My co worker invited me to join her for lunch today at a little place down the street where I work. It is a cute little place, very small, but the service is good. My co workers speak highly of this place, I thought it was okay, had a burger. But it is not someplace I would rush back to. A great place for lunch but not sure if I would go out to dinner here. But it is very clean and like I said very small.

The food was OK. The prices for the quality of food was uncalled for. We randomly got a free appetizer out of it which was good. Otherwise it was a very expensive place with decent food so I would not go back.

I’ve passed this place a bunch from driving and walking back from Riverside, and a local friend raved about it, so after a year I finally decided to give them a try at lunch. I thought their soup/sandwich deal was perfect for a cold day, and it gives Panera a run for their money. The portabella sandwich with brie had no component that«came from a can» the only issue I had was that some of the greens had lost their moisture from the panini press. The french onion soup was great though, it seemed to be a daily special but I’d highly recommend it. Our waitress was attentive and personable, especially since we had the whole restaurant to ourselves between the end of lunch right before the dinner rush. Dinner might be their stronger suit, since the menu changes regularly, but across the board from other reviews too lunch is always a solid option.

Really nice, small place with delicious light eggplant parm, Rubens, burgers and nice staff. And is reasonably priced

This is Mario’s 3rd restaurant in Newton. When we eat here it’s like eating our own homemade. Everything is prepared fresh and to order. Anthony presides over a comfortable and inviting bar and pours a wicked martini! The two of them make Boccabella Bistro a «not to miss» local place to meet and eat!

We had a delightful early supper in this little jewel. Clean, simply and tastefully decorated, superb food. The server was fast and friendly. We are thrilled to have found this wonderful place. Really special.

Really yummy turkey burger! The pickle is also good, they make it themselves, which was cool to know. I like the chips and guac, but felt that the guac could have used a bit more something… Not sure, but something was missing.

Food is okay but not worth the prices. The service was fine. My main issue is that I noticed a week later that they charged my card more than double what the tab was. Upon noticing I immediately called to resolve the issue. After speaking with the manager I was told that he would check on his end and get back to me. A couple days passed and no word so I called back. He said the same thing. Another couple days passed and I never heard back so I called again and was given the same nonsense that he was waiting to hear back from his credit company. The amount wasn’t great enough to pursue any further except to know that I will never endorse or spend another dime at this restaurant. Poor business practice and extremely disappointing customer service. I strongly suggest going anywhere else.

Huge portions, AMAZING food & service, and a small but cute restaurant. I have never seen such huge portions for such a low price. This is an excellent place to eat — I hope to visit again the next time I’m in Boston!

Food is pretty good — no complaints — but services is non-chalant/lackluster and the worst part of the whole place is the NOISE. You cannot hear yourself think or have a conversation without yelling. Just not a peaceful, relaxing place for dinner. too bad — we have TRIED to like this place, it’s a quick walk from home — a neighborhood place for us — but I just have not found redeeming qualities.

What’s American-contemporary for«meh?» Be prepared to be predictably disappointed. Small space, limited selection of food, place is constantly out of stuff, using canned olives and freeze-dried lettuce for salads… it’s like they actually want you to be unimpressed.

I stopped in Boca Bella for the first time a few weeks ago. I met the owner Mario and what a really nice fellow. The dining area is nice and the bar though small is very comfortable. The bartender was friendly and offer me so nice bread and seasonedth olive oil which was very good.(I have to get he name of that brand). The location is good and easy to get parking. It’s a great addition to Auburndale and I hope they do well. Marrio also told me they host music a few times a month in their room next door so I will check that out in time.
