well thank you trotters. thank you for serving the people who came in after us first and left us sitting without so much as an acknowledgement that you saw us. when my father saw this he said«let’s go» and now he wants nothing to do with your restaurant. there goes one more restaurant crossed off our list because of lousy service. which is a shame as i thought you had some decent food and it was(for about 4 – 5 visits) worth going out of our way to go to.

Great place and amazing desserts! It takes you back to the time when Auburn was a farm town. I love this place.

Seriously, what is all the hype about with this overpriced poor American diner food? It is the Emperor’s Clothes of restaurants. It is NAKED(i.e. meaning it is awful) I have been here about 5 times always at the suggestion of others(later they apologize for the crap food. This place never fails to disappoint. Water logged cheap green iceberg lettuce for salad, stogey white flour bland soup, and every entrée is tasteless and simply sad. It is correctly named, just know you’ll have the«trots» if you eat here. Also, I honestly suspect that the staff does double duty working at the nearby funeral home, they lack all personality. Maybe they have been forced to eat there and have succumbed to the lank of flavor and quality. Just drive on by.

My wife and I, along with my daughter and her boyfriend ate a late lunch here a few days ago. My daughter just moved to the area and we are exploring and trying out the local restaurants. This looked like just the sort of local non-chain we wanted to try. It is a basic family restaurant with an interesting eclectic décor. In the front, there is an ice cream counter and in the back there are lots of tables. We were promptly seated and our orders were taken when we were ready. The service is pleasant and quick. Everyone felt that the food was good, but not great. For a neighborhood restaurant serving basics, it is OK. The best things were the small salmon omelette($ 9.95) and the seafood omlette($ 10.50). The chicken fettuccini($ 12.99) was served with an Alfredo sauce that was lacking something; much improvement is needed for this dish. I had the Ruben sandwich($ 8.99) that was advertised on the menu as «piled high», but as delivered only had a few thin slices of meat. The Ruben included soup or salad, or chili(chili is $ 0.50 extra); the chili was good.

This is a long-standing local landmark in Auburn. They have desserts, breakfasts, lunches, dinners. They have meeting areas, too. The food is kind of average. One of my dining partners said the wheat bread on her sandwich was«different,» but her sandwich was pretty good. The other dining partners enjoyed their sandwiches and salad. I enjoyed my meal. It was okay. The service was relatively friendly, but the server kept interrupting, multiple times as we were trying to finish sentences. Kind of different in that aspect. It was a weekday evening, very few patrons, so a nice quiet venue.

I miss this place from my heart :) Two years ago, when I was living in Auburn, this place had been my favorite place to go for grabbing a meal. I miss the steak here which was only 18 bucks. The hot chocolate with rich sweet cream was yummy as well. This place leaves me warm and comfortable impression. The atmosphere was always quiet and peaceful, which I missed the most. Once I left my cellphone their, when I came back in two hours they gave it back to me ;) I’ll remember the smile hanging on the waiter’s face forever. I wanna go back again. If I ever have a chance, I will.

This is a local restaurant in Auburn, Washington that just can’t decide what it wants to be. Out front, it boasts steaks, sandwiches, seafood, burgers, soups, and salads. Inside, the menu seems vast for a local spot. And the décor seems to throw in everything but the kitchen sink. Joe and I decided to eat our anniversary dinner there after our day at the fair. We both ordered the steaks. Joe got a salad and clam chowder. I got the beef and rice soup. My soup was fair, but Joe absolutely hated the chowder. It didn’t taste like homemade soups, but I could be mistaken. Joe’s well done steak was more fat than steak, and my medium well steak came out medium rare. I took 1 bite of my steak and couldn’t eat any more of it. Joe maybe had 3 bites out of his steak. I ordered coffee, and Joe ordered a Coke. My coffee wasn’t good, but I should have known better than to order coffee at dinner time. We were never offered refills on either of our drinks. The staff was polite enough, but the food was an epic fail. My suggestion is to shrink the menu tremendously, but prepare what remains on the menu from scratch with fresh ingredients. Then, streamline the décor to match your true identity. Being a jack of all trades is great if you can execute it with excellence, but since the food sucks so badly, I wouldn’t recommend it for this restaurant.

Yeah so there’s nothing to write home about when it comes to Trotter’s. However, they have been serving the community for as long as I’ve been alive. The food is about what you’d expect for a low cost American food style restaurant. But the service has always been fabulous. It’s the type of place where they remember how you take your eggs and what kind of cheese you take on your burger etc. It’s most certainly and Auburn staple.

Pretty adequate. Had the standard Deluxe Burger(with bacon), which should be the standard bearer for a local American diner. It wasn’t bad, but nothing to write home about. Ingredients seemed fresh, and the fries on the side were fine as well. The ice cream looked great, but I did not partake(my mistake!) The kitchen ran out of Avocados that were one a sandwich someone else in my party ordered. It’s sort of understandable, Avocados are expensive and difficult to keep in stock w/o spoiling, but it was a little disappointing. All in all, not a bad experience. Would I go back? Sure.

We just relocated from Renton to Auburn and found this place while looking for a Sunday breakfast. Been there twice so far. I really enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and the pancakes. I am looking forward to going back for some of the ice cream treats they have. Pricing is about what most pay at denny’s but the quality is there. The food is the old school comfort food that is great on a cool morning.

Awesome food and always consistent! I’ve had many of the food selections from salad to ice cream(which is super yummy) to the home cooked chicken! It’s all good and the staff are so caring and good at what they do! Totally recommend!

One of the best kids meals I’ve paid for in a long time! My halibut sandwich was delicious! Service was great! 4 stars because I wasn’t a huge fan of my fries, they were good but not great.

Let me start by saying, I don’t know the history of this place but based on the reviews it sounds like it has been around for awhile and that they are known for their ice cream. Decided to eat dinner here with the family for the first time. We didn’t get the ice cream, just dinner. I feel you can tell a lot about a place based on how well maintained the bathroom is. If this is true, this place deserves a 1-star. The disgusting bathroom coupled with the gross and grimy table we were sat at, made us question the cleanliness of everything. PROs — Atmosphere — overall okay. Has the«old-school» feel. — Pricing — reasonable. Seems in line with what I’d expect to pay at a burger joint. — Kids meals — Not sure if this is more of a pro or a con but they have huge kids meals. CONs — Cleanliness — the bathroom was disgusting. The table had a film of grime on it. — Waiter — he smelled really bad… Like he hadn’t taken a shower in a week. Minus his hygiene, his overall service was OK. — Food — overall it tasted mediocre at best. Overall, we won’t be back.

Great home style American food and pleasant atmosphere… The waitress was super friendly and brought the 4 of us extra cherries upon request just so we could try tying them with our tongues… I would recommend saving some room for their banana split! :-)

I gotta respond to Rik or it just wouldn’t be right haha. I’ve loved this restaurant for over a year. It’s OUR restaurant we say at home. It’s got a very home feel not franchisee or corporate. Whoever thinks they can get french toast bacon sausage and eggs for less than 9.95 well let’s just be honest that person isn’t living in reality. The waiters and waitresses even the buying stafg remembers me when I come in. The food is good especially the mozzarella sticks haha. I think that’s how they remember me I always order them. Any who steaks here time to get my grub on. Ps Rik stop hating the world there is good in life :) *update* had to complete my review Mike is the server he is down to earth and a good reason as to why I eat here. The hash browns are very clearly made from fresh potatoes another one of my favorites about the food. The eggs however simple on the menu are cooked right(sunny side up) to your preference. The steak doesn’t come out on a sizzling platter. Nor, is it garnished with unnecessary BS it’s straight forward meat very lightly seasoned and tender to eat. All in all what a good breakfast for only $ 13 bucks. In the background I here Mike joking with the older ladies making sure they’re behaving haha they love it. And I’m still absolutely blown away that Rik would spout out about illegals in the kitchen. Seriously !!! Is this a food and service review or are you boasting your political agenda.

The atmosphere is fun & down home. The food is good but the ice cream is better. I have been coming here since high school & nothing has changed which I like in these types of restaurants. I love coming here with my sister… great getaway from the kids & great sister time :-) Stop by the next time your in Auburn, I promise it’ll be a sweet visit.

I don’t normally come to Auburn for anything, HOWEVER, my husband had fond memories of the ice cream sundaes served here and wanted to relive some childhood memories for his birthday. So the 2 of us and 2 friends trekked down south for an ice cream extravaganza. It was dead inside on a Friday afternoon. The booths are pretty run down. It kind of looks like an older version of Sherri’s inside. After a while people started to filter in but they couldn’t have been younger than 65. Our waiter was very friendly and informative. My husband wanted their HUGE16 scoop sundae and the waiter gave us some pointers about which flavors worked together and which didn’t. That monster is a freaking trough full of ice cream. You can barely tell which flavor your eating because of the mound of whip cream on top. I think the 4 of us managed to eat 2/3s of it before we all fell into a diabetic coma. I can’t imagine I’ll ever need to come back to Trotters, but it sure was an interesting experience.
