Save the hate, this place exists for the guy drinking a pitcher by himself at the corner table and the girl at the bar fixed on her phone drinking long islands for 2 hours. Karaōke 7 days a week? Sign me up. I thoroughly enjoyed the Greek burger and Jo-Jos. Kitchen is open late. Micci the bartender is very nice. If you are stuck in Auburn you could do much worse than having a beer and a burger in this place.

NO. NONONO on SOOO many levels! I wish i could give zero stars! We came here around 11 on a Saturday night. Got told it would be a good 45 mins to sing. There wasnt even 45 people in this bar! After waiting almost TWOHOURS I go up and ask how long, only to see someone who was already in the bar had been put in front of me… da fuq? The«DJ» then says«oh yeah, u know people are payin me mad money to be next, just the name of the game» REALLY? For karaōke? INAUBURN? Nah bro I definately think NOT. (Also, when my husband and his friend tried to play pool, these girls would guard the table like it was made of gold, but never played pool. Im so glad management thinks thats acceptable behavior…) The food was surely the only thing saving this hole of a bar. Even then it was nothing McDonalds couldn’t do. Save yourself the gas and avoid this joke. SERIOUSLY!

I am a chef and decided to pop in today for a quick bite. I ordered a Caesar salad. Your salads and soups tell a lot about a restaurant. Well first off, the Romaine lettuce was washed, vibrant and freshly cut. The croutons were made in house and the Parmesan was fresh grated. Now for the dressing. Since I have lived in the Seattle for the past 15 months I not found its equal. Fresh squeezed lemons, Parmesan, Anchovies. The olive oil and egg yolks were emulsified perfectly. Tha whole salad gave me a Tastegasm. I am looking forward to eating there soon again!

not bad, considering it is in Auburn, there isn’t a whole lot of places to choose from. Food is just average, drinks are generously poured.

Went there for lunch and the food was really great and the service was really great. My husband ordered the Ceasar salad with chicken and it rocked, I was jealous. I ordered the bread bowl with the Chicken corn chowder soup and it was awesome. So why only four(Istarted with three) stars? It was cold in there and smelled of cigarette smoke both big downers for me. I will recommend it for the food though.

Super fun for karaōke. They have karaōke 7 nights a week. The staff is great. The drinks are great. There’s just some weirdness. For one, the bathrooms are on the karaōke stage. Weird. There’s another bathroom downstairs. Went down there and there were no paper towels. Apparently, they had them at some point because there were a pile of used ones on the floor because guess what? There was no waste basket. It was just kind of unsanitary. Then, when you leave the bathroom, you walk by a kitchen that doesn’t look very, well… clean. I didn’t eat any food(nor would I), but everything else was just wonderful.

It was an OK because the internet was not working and there were a lot of weird people in the bar. Good try though.

I love this place!!! Love the friendly faces and the food is amazing! The staff rocks and the drinks are amazing! Show up for the karaōke or Sunday nights with the trivia games. Never dull with the different patrons.

I was really excited to try this place and very disapointed when I finally did. The food tasted like it was fried in 4 day old oil, and it took 30 minutes to get when it was just appetizers. My beer, that was in a bottle, was flat and the waitresses were too busy taking smoke breaks to even check to see if we needed refills. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone other than a college kid with no sense of taste looking for a place to shoot pool.

If I shit in a bag it would taste better then the food here. Service was slow and the atmosphere is that of a frat house after the party. Avoid this place as I’m sure Restaurant impossible will want their money and time back after the failure of this restaurant.

Yuck! I couldn’t even eat it. The people rating this place high must be or drunk. They should change the name to the funky monkey!

What happens when you take a 2500 square foot house from 1945, and convert it to a 1 men’s room and one ladies room, fine dinning establishment, with a bar in the attic??? An amazing night of gourmet burgers, sexy monkey butt, and countless pitchers of PBR. What more could you ask for??? Add some happy karaōke good times, and you will never go home.

As soon as I walked in I knew I was in for a treat. Getting carded on the stairs and having to trip up stairs to the restroom really set the mood for my evacuation… except the fact they have one restroom for all the people in the place… I could not even get a photo because the bathroom was locked every time I went to «evacuate»… IMNOTHAPPY!

I swung by here and I liked the theme of the place. The clientele seemed very relaxed and the atmosphere seemed very fun. I only had drinks here so I can’t rate any food options at this time. The service was very attentive and quick on their feet so I appreciated that. They were having karaōke night when I visited this establishment. The song choices were all various but mostly not that great which gave people more confidence on sharing their singing abilities. I find that a plus since it should be about fun and just having a good time. This place seemed approachable and friendly overall. Oh yeah, as people are saying, they do have a split dining and bar area which makes this place very unique in architecture. Pretty fun place, a little divey but not too much. I’m a fan.

First visit was cool, I’m not impressed at all by ethics that are coming from that bar. So I’m changing my yay to a nay.

Thursday 2÷27÷14 Took 2 friends to the Spunky Monkey Restaurant in Auburn, WA, WOW was that a BIG mistake. If there were a negative number I would post it. The restaurant was featured as a «restaurant makeover on restaurant impossible», so I thought I was going to be inviting«NOT». We walked in and there was no one to greet you, headed to the dining area, where a man in dirty clothes said«it’s closed, go up to the bar» this was at 6:20pm). We went up stairs to the bar, waited to be seated, took a few minutes,(only 5 people in the bar 4 staff members); we were seated in a booth which had a broken table. After we ordered, It took the kitchen staff 45 minutes to deliver our meal; I have to give the wait staff credit, a couple of staff members, kept apologizing about the wait. I ordered, Beef & Blue Burger(salsa was slimy — scrapped it off) burger was cook per order, BUT the 5 wedges on the plate 2 cooked 3 raw(gross). My Friends order the Fish Sandwich, fish was dry, roll seemed to be day old, the other ordered Steak, and it was as tough as shoe leather, veggies over cooked. This restaurant is NOT inviting, VERYPOOR quality of food preparation and extremely long period of time between order and delivery. I paid the bill, because I was so embarrassed about the place I chose for guest. I WOULDNOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACEEVER! I will also be sending the show Restaurant Impossible a CC of this post. dr

As others have mentioned this place has been updated due to restaurants impossible. I was told it was very divey before! The new is very unique décor, bright, and modern. Two pool tables. Good beer selection. Staff was super friendly and fast. They were doing karaōke on a Saturday. Only came here to drink so not sure how it is for meals. But it is a good place to come and drink a beer or two!

I never had the opportunity to try this place out prior to Food Network’s Restaurant Impossible face lift, however I’ve heard stories. Stories of the good ol’ dive bar — a place where you can go get sloppy drunk, sing karaōke, shoot some pool, play some darts and dance off beat to the jukebox in the background. To me, it sounded awesome. To me that sounds like the place I want to go every now and then when I don’t want to get all dressed up and just enjoy myself like nobody is watching. Upon entering the New Spunky Monkey — I wasn’t drawn in by anything as the outside of the building looked pretty drab on a cold rainy Friday night. But my friends and I wanted to check it out never the less to see what the hype was all about. I was immediately turned off that I had to walk up 10 flights of stairs to get to the bar area — as any bar hopper would know — drinking & stairs do NOT mix. The main bar area was pretty decent as it resembled a(more or less) tropical feel, however it rather seemed conflicting with the modernistic 3D paint on the main wall with the Ikea style hanging lamps. The dining area was divided off by old folding doors and the dining room side was decorated with paintings of monkey head shots and tables and chairs looked like they were from a parent teacher conference room. We grabbed a seat at a table at the bar and waited around a bit longer than expected to get service. In the meantime — we used our TouchTunes app to select a few songs on the jukebox to pass the time and wait for service. To our dismay — the volume of the music was set so loud it was muffled by the 15 other patrons sitting around the bar area, who were simply just talking and laughing. 20 minutes later we were able to get menus and placed a round of drinks. Guinness, a hard cider and a terribly mixed gin & tonic later — i was far from impressed. This place wasn’t a dive. I didn’t feel like it was much of a bar either. Nothing to entertain to patrons, the music couldn’t be heard. It has more a cafeteria feel than a bar or even a restaurant. Won’t be coming back as there are so many other options to choose from near by.
