Came here yesterday for breakfast. It was delish. Major busy, Got a great seat next to the window with a nice view of Auburn Station and was even lucky to see a train pass by. it was actually Amtrak’s Coast starlight train. I love trains so it made my breakfast all the better. The food is so delish. But they have so much. even their half menu is lots of food. I ended up taking half of it home with me.

One of the best places to eat breakfast in the Puget Sound! Food is always excellent, the Banana bread is outstanding, and the entire staff is wonderful, they are real people who are not constrained by politically correct, corporate America! This is a local business I am happy to support!

Very happy! Not sure how it would be on a weekend morning(most breakfast places are slammed) but on this weekday, service, food, and value were fantastic. They didn’t have the combination I wanted for breakfast, but built it perfectly, including the burnt bacon(best ever I might add) without gouging me on the price. I’ll be back next time I’m in Auburn.

While I agree with all the other reviews about the size of the portions and food itself(although, in my opinion, IHOP has a better selection), I am very disappointed with the service. I’ve heard a lots of compliments about this café from my coworkers for the past two years and decided to finally check it out. After visiting this place I have a bad aftertaste. 1. Our waiter was wearing a t-shirt advertising another café in Auburn. To me this was a sign of a bad work etiquette: you do not take Honda to Ford dealership for advertisement. 2. As much as I love coffee or tea, currently I cannot have caffeine or any herbal tea, so I drink hot water only. My waiter was shocked when I asked for a cup of hot water and said that it would be very expensive hot water. He was laughing when he made that remark, so I joked back saying«sure!» He brought my hot water and dumped it on a table which made it splash out of cup. He did not even blink at it, just smirked and walked away. I ended up using half of my napkin, good thing it was large, to clean the table. 3. Receipt looked like a cryptic spy note on a blank piece of paper and there was no way of knowing what I was being charged for. I ordered only one dish with a cup of hot water but there were four different numbers on a scratch note: I could only guess their meaning. 4. The setup of this café is somewhat odd: you take this«super coded» piece of scratch paper and take it to the cash register where the actual café owner is working and pay for it. I was expecting my bill to be about $ 20-$ 21($ 18.30 for the dish + tax and complimentary hot water as no one had ever charged me for a couple cups of hot water before). However, it came up to $ 26+. I asked the owner to explain the charges and he did not seem to be very happy about it, but told me that I had an $ 18.30 dish and two cups of coffee plus tax. I do not steal money and I am not getting welfare, my money is earned hard at work so I know its value. To the owner’s credit I will say that he took $ 5.30(price of two cups of coffee) off my bill as soon as I told him that it was a hot water and not coffee. All of the above left a mixed feeling — do I want to visit the Sun Break Café ever again?!

Amazing food, inept management. We had a group of eight. We walked through the long line and waited patiently like everyone else. When we got to the front of the line, they made us wait until a table big enough for us came up. That’s normal I get that… what I believe was grossly inept and bad management was three different waiters came and asked us how big our party was(no one seemed to be working together on getting is seated) a corner table that could seat 10 people was being used by TWO people, the waiters kept calling for parties of 4,2,2,4,3 people only .not people who’d been waiting longer than us, people waiting not as long… Pretty sure more than 8 chairs were seated before us. I’m sure the answer to that is well we can’t just move tables around it’ll mess up the system… fix the system, you have a large party with children, split us up, make an exception, do something to fix the problem. Don’t just walk by pretending we’re not there and keep sitting people who have not waited as long. One waitress finally took charge got the lollygagers out of the big booth, got us seated and fixed the issue. Carly… Make her the manager, she was the only person in the restaurant who seemed to care about service. Exceptional waitress.

I have a couple of complaints about this place. 1. Not open on Mondays. 2. Their breakfasts are way too huge! I love, love, love Sun Break Café. I wish it were open 7 days a week. It’s a great place to have breakfast. Recently, I went with a friend who had never been there. I told her we’d split a half breakfast. While skeptical, she did agree to that. We had MORE than enough for two people by splitting a half breakfast. This place has the best food, made to order. Super friendly employees. Great service. I just can’t say enough about this place. But, really… maybe open more days of the week?

I love breakfast, it’s my favorite meal of the day. That said, this is my favorite breakfast I’ve ever eaten. Their portions are hilariously huge, and there are no words to describe their banana bread.

Reason why I’m giving this breakfast spot a 4-star is because of their bomb ass banana bread. OMG! Their breakfast items are pretty standard, you get eggs, bacon, sausage, hash, blah blah, just like any other ma and pops breakfast joint. But at this place, your choice of toast can be banana bread! OMG! Both times I had it here was always legit. Their breakfast portions are for 2 people to eat! Their banana bread was always brought out warm with melting butter on top. I usually request to get that brought out first, because I don’t want to fill my tummy up with breakfast food and have no room for their«toast». Speaking of which, I need to make a trip back and just buy a loaf of banana bread for $ 12, go home and just enjoy it by myself. Yes, by myself! mmmmmmmmmm!

I’m very glad to have a place like this in my area. Over the past few years this restaurant has been consistently good and reliable when you need a hearty breakfast. I don’t think I’ve been here when it’s slow. Expect the lines to be crazy long, but don’t let it scare you away. They cycle through the tables pretty quickly so you won’t be standing for to long. Parking is a challenge too but there is a side lot and more parking down the street so you may have to walk a bit. Once you get seated there’s a lot of breakfast items to choose from. I don’t think you can go wrong with much here and be prepared to get really really full AND have leftovers as the portions are out of control. Some of my favorites is the chicken fried steak, biscuits and gravy, and their banana bread. Service is fast and friendly and surprisingly patient even with the craziness going on in a packed house. The antique shop is an interesting touch but I haven’t made it in there yet, fun to look at while in line though. Not much negative to say here, just a great place to get a gigantic and yummy breakfast.

Great food. Terrific service. Karley is amazing. Best server I’ve had anywhere in a very long time.
