I was passing through and stopped to try the beer. The food was great and the beer was good. If your in the area you have to stop and eat here. The beer selection wasn’t as big as I thought but the beer they had on tap was very good. I had a dark porter and a wheat beer. It’s a great place to watch sports. They had three Tv’s on with baseball, basketball, and sports center. A great place!

YUCK! Flat beer and nasty chicken wings. Will never step foot in this business again. Bartender was great-she needs to find a more suitable place to work. Great personality and tried to make the best of a poor situation. Seriously felt sorry for her!

We held our 50th high school reunion in the Club’s banquet mom and it worked out very well. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The hor de oeuvres were quite good with a wide selection. We had a cash bar which was well stocked and the service was quick. We had about 120 people and it was not crowded. Parking was easy and convenient.

Really an awesome, pleasant time. Not sure why the ratings aren’t better. Very pleasant service and great beer selection.

Looks great since the major remodel. Good food, excellent service. The free pool table is a real plus.

Pros — ok salad — ok ribeye Cons — beers are all off/stale(we sampled 10 of them) — «fresh veggies» with dinner were freezer burned then boiled — filet mignon was terribly cooked and seasoned with dehydrated garlic — mashed potatoes are from a box! and seasoned with garlic salt — my cocktail was made with sour/gone bad juice and well vodka(eventhough I asked that it not be) — to go boxes were brought to us in a clear garbage bag(maybe they know they’re food is trash?) — it’s an irish pub/grill with no irish food or beer Thanks power club for an amazing first anniversary dinner that was pricy and inedible.

This place is just okay. They are to IPA heavy as most pubs go. A plus is they have pick your own flights where you get to do $ 1 samplers of 4 beers. This is especially handy so you don’t get stuck drinking a dud. The ESB they have right now is awesome. One annoying thing about this place is the waiter kept trying to take the beer menu with him. We had to ask 3 times for him to leave it behind. We’re obviously here for the beer so just LETITGO waiter boy! I had sliders. Friends had sweet potato fires. Both were not memorable.

I’m still a great fan of the Power Club. Nice spot adjacent to the Powers Mansion. Good food at a quality price. Going back each and every time I’m in Auburn. Highly recommend this fine business. Truly a hidden treasure.

Wow… I real don’t want to rate a one star to this place but I don’t think I have a choice here. 4 friends and I stopped in here to eat and have a couple drinks. In the bar area, there were just a couple people. We chose a table since we were going to eat. The short story is that our waitress and another lady(possibly the owner or manager) waited on our table. But everything was a disaster. I had a couple beers…20−25% foam. Drinks came at different times even though ordered together. Taking our orders took a long time. There were a couple questions that were going to be verified with the chef… but we never got answers. Some of the food was completely wrong and not what was ordered. We advised that we were going to take some of the leftovers home… someone grabbed the plate. Minutes later, we asked about the leftovers… they came with an empty container. Where was the food! They said they’d go to the back and get it… at which point we said, no, no, no thanks, we’ve changed our minds(who knows were that food was by now… like in the trash). They were very apologetic, offered to not charge for some of the food, and offered slices of pie to make amends. But everything was still on the bill… they couldn’t even get the complementary pie slices right. Now the waitress did tell us it was her first day… but no one was helping her and she wasn’t shadowing anyone to learn. She and the other lady were nice people… but this was just a total disaster. I would like to think that this was a rare occasion and maybe one day, I’ll return and try this place again. But for now, I won’t return until I start see a lot of 4 star or better ratings.

This place is great! The staff is super friendly and the restaraunt on site is top notch. Though Auburn isn’t the traditional destination spot I would go out of my way to stop by here any time I’m in the area. It’s also helps they brew their own beer on site and it’s really good!

In Auburn. This is a small shop which offers food and sells alcohol for consumption. Food is cooked in the kitchen away from shop. Casual experience. Offerings include handcrafted 100+ Micro beers on tap. Food include burgers, sandwiches, and likes. I came in because a special on Living Social or Groupon. Two burgers and two microbrews. Staff is friendly and greeted at arrival. Table was clean. Service was quick to take the order. Server was knowledgeable of all microbrews and able to narrow our selections. One was cider like and another was a red. The cider was okay little kick. The red was light on the Abu but not bad. Nice copper color and reminded me of ale like tendencies. Your standard hamburger. It was solid nothing out of this world on a sesame bum. We had a side of water that was refilled fairly often. Waiter was responsive and checked in with table frequent. Bill and check settlement were quick. Good: service decent beer and average food. Bad: nothing really stood out for this place. I wouldn’t mind stopping again to try other food or drinks.

I’ve had to downgrade this establishment, mainly because its never open when I go there!(Its now officially closed for lunch) Nowadays, I’ve discovered«The Daily Egg» nearby, and have forgotten about this place.(Note the last 2 times I’ve tried to go during dinner hours, there has been a sign that says«Closed for Private Party»)

The food was average, your typical bar range, short and simple menu. The beer selection was immense, truly overwhelming. No to the bad part, the service. There were 4 employees there, 2 which kept disappearing, another who constant talked to the same couple and the only person who seemed like they wanted to be there was too young to pour beer. So even though the place wasn’t crowed the wait was overly long between beers. They had at least 50 beers on tap and non of the employees could explain the variables between each beer. One guy actually said, «I’m not a good person to ask, I only drink coors.» Which ps wasn’t even an option. I started with 2 stars but as I typed I realized I had to change it to 1 star.

This place is truly awful. The first time we tried to go there after reading an article in the Sac Bee, we drove around trying to figure out how to find the entrance. We called and were told«we’re full for the night anyway». Ummm, ok? So we left. Now, while that was awful enough, what was really awful was when we had the misfortune to actually get in the next time we tried. We had been out on a ride all day and when we stopped at the red light, we finally saw where the entrance was and gave it a shot. Big mistake. While they may have a zillion or so beers on tap, most reviewers seem to think that it’s quantity over quality. My BF was not impressed with his selection. I don’t drink beer, so I can’t comment firsthand, but my vodka tonic was weak and the tonic water was flat. Bad combo. As for the food? I’m not going to waste my time or yours giving details. All I will say is this: You could do SIGNIFICANTLY better stealing someone’s dinner tray at a nursing home. The food is seriously that bad. My advice? Go down the street to Club Car.

Yeah, this review might not really be the most applicable, as we just went to the Power club as the Breakfast portion of our B & B stay at the Powers mansion next door. But there was really no menu, or selection process, more of i’ll bring your breakfaster now.” But again that is probably not the full experience, Although we did see the list of 110 beers, which was overwhelming and cool.

I came to the Powers Mansion Inn for a wedding this past weekend. The wedding and reception are another story… so onto the beer! During the reception, the emcee(who I later found out was actually the owner of the whole shebang) said that we were welcome to purchase adult beverages at the bar and bring them back. Why, thank you, I do believe I will indulge! First off. The amount of beers they brew is close to astounding. I heard something about going for a Guinness world record but I was too busy sipping various types of hefeweizen. Mandarin. Orange. Strawberry. LEMONCORIANDER. I can’t even. What I ended up drinking: a whiskey barrel lager(dark, still tasted light, delicious). A powers pilsner(also dark, HOW?! So tasty). And … something else. Whatever it was, it was amazing and helped me get through a rather painful wedding reception. Paul was our bartender and he was knowledgeable, fun and super charming. He also let me try pretty much any beer I wanted. Even if I did say, «okay, just one more,» about 5 times. I didn’t try the food because we were provided«nourishment» at the reception, but the buffet by the bar seemed to be the same fare. The vegetables were boiled and bland, the mashed potatoes were DEFINITELY powdered, and the meat was just okay. I’ve heard the burgers are tasty though, so I’ll definitely try that sometime. So, this place is trying to pass off as an «Irish» bar. Coming from New England… just no. Putting up painted clovers that have«Irish» sayings on them does not make an Irish bar. Doesn’t even come close to making it a pub. The big leather couches were cozy though and I spied a boxed board game called«Drinking Game» that I’d be interested in playing. Overall, pretty excited about this discovery. If only just for the delicious beer.

My husband heard of this place and wanted to try it so I bought a Groupon thinking they would be open during the day(for lunch). My husband and I dropped my Jeep off for service and headed over there for lunch only to find that they did not open until 5 p.m. — really? We went down the street to Auburn Alehouse which was packed and had lunch and a beer. How is a place that supposedly has over a 100 beers on tap only open 4 hours a day? Anyway, we did eventually go and honestly it was… well, weird. I felt like we had checked into the hotel California and were going to be lucky to check out… we felt kinda like we had stepped into some parallel universe. The wait staff was nice enough and the food was mediocre at best and the beer so-so. I cannot be too judgemental about the beer since we only tried one but we were told it was a popular choice — a little hard to believe if you ask me. Back to the burger… there was supposedly bacon on it but it was not noticeable and other than the fresh veggies on it, I was not impressed at all. There were actually quite a few people there but it was a very awkward atmosphere… no music, no television sounds… just the hum of quiet conversation. We will not be going back but I will be interested to see if this place succeeds or not.

We have been here twice. The first time we ordered their burgers which we really liked. Not super special but cooked how we ordered. Medium rare and not overdone. Second time we made the mistake of eating their buffet they started. Stick with their burgers. Buffet is like Hometown with beer. Nothing fresh but the lettuce. It was okay but I could get the same from Winco frozen food aisle and heat it up myself. Okay, let’s talk about the beer selection. They have a board with 110 slots and currently 95 on tap. I asked where they were all from and the bartender said the owner does them all himself. How can you make that many varieties yourself and do them well? I don’t think you can. We tried a few and settled for one if the IPA varieties. Nothing special but okay. We want to try the room special sometime with dinner here so we can just walk around and shop. This place is good, not great, but I recommend anything but the buffet. Each type of meat I tried was tough, dry, and tasted previously frozen. Their burgers were good and cooked correct.
