This place was really good. The guy that was working there was very helpful and suggested the turkey panini with roasted papers garlic aioli and pepper jack. The sandwich was a little pricy but after a long walk along the river it was worth every penny and it willed me up. Give this place a try!

We enjoyed a delicious turkey panini on our way back to the Bay Area from Tahoe. The service was excellent and friendly. Quality ingredients and lots of choices. Happy to not have to resort to fast food when this nice locally owned restaurant was on our way anyway.

It’s so nice to have a great place to get coffee and espresso in South Auburn! The Maidu Café has Lavazza Italian coffee, serves beer on tap and wine, excellent sandwiches and hot soup! Let’s support our local coffee house and keep the doors open!

Been here a few times, and every time the paninis are on point! I definitely recommend this place.
My personal favorite is the auburn sweet and spicy, and wash it down with a great beer they have on tap. .especially during happy hour ;)

I live down the road and was elated when I found out the Maidu Market was reopening. I saw the café and thought I would try it. The service was great. I decided to try The Mean Russian which is roast beef, provolone and special sauce. Generally speaking I assume that special sauce is some version of thousand island. I was very wrong. I get in my car and began to head to work. I opened my carry out box to find a fuchsia colored sandwich. It was some sort of beet sauce. I hate beets but gave it a chance and it completely ruined the sandwich. I guess I was upset cause I felt the description was very misleading.
The second time I went I designed my own sandwich and it was good but nothing special. I haven’t gone back since cause I’d rather drive the extra distance to go to Annie’s or Mr. Pickles. I’ll probably go back in a month to see if they’ve improved.

— Cali Road: turkey, bacon, avocado, and Monterey cheese on dutch bread. Comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, and a pickle. The bread wasn’t crunchy. It tasted very ordinary, but it was still good. 3.5÷5
— Maidu Mania: ham, salami, turkey (instead of roast beef), and Pepperjack on wheat bread. Comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, mayo, and a pickle. Again, good but ordinary. 3.5÷5

Very nice neighborhood café for just a bite and a drink. Great breakfast sandwiches, or make your own panini, or bagel sandwich, etc. nice variety of lunch sandwiches. Great smoothies, coffee drinks, etc. super friendly barista and warm atmosphere. Walk in or stop by. You won’t be disappointed! So glad Maidu Café is back!

If you find yourself in need of a boost, there is not a better espresso drink to be had anywhere within 30 miles of Maidu Café. Their mocha is rich, smooth and chocolatey without being overly sweet. The consistency is frothy with a very silky pour, and served at a pleasing temperature.
I have sampled the offerings of most of the foothills cafes, and there really isn’t one that can compare. They use Lavazza coffee, which is very good in the form of regular brew, as well. Aromoatic, fresh and doesn’t have the burnt, acidic taste you often find at chain shops or in cafes where the staff are inadequately trained.
They also have a nice selection of beer and tasty sandwiches to munch on, as well. The versatility in their menu will take care of everyone who enters. Check it out.

I came here last week with a friend and got the turkey blitz. It was absolutely delicious! The coffee was also fantastic. The staff was fantastic and very friendly. My friend really enjoyed their beer selection. I’d definitely recommend stopping here when passing by in Auburn! Will definitely be back!

I came here after a day hike around the area and man was it delicious! I had the Cali Road sandwich with turkey and bacon and I’d definitely have it again.
The staff is very friendly and the café was nice and clean with a cute outdoor area if you want to enjoy your food outside.
They also have a great beer selection!

I don’t live in the area, but I come through periodically for work. This is my second time coming here and it’s delicious! Highly recommend the Cali Rd café sandwich with Dutch Crunch bread. #yum
The staff has been super friendly both times I’ve stopped in and the atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable. They seem to be trying hard to get this place off the ground. I hope they succeed!
