Palm Palace Restaurant

We went in the end of October. We didn’t care for it. We decided we would not return. Now, I see it is closed. I guess others felt the same. I hope something awesome comes to this location.

This establishment closed down as of November 15. It is no longer open. The rest of this is just filler to meet the space requirements of a review, feel free to stop reading.

I’ve only been here during lunch and I usually have one of their lunch specials with a salad.
The food is pretty good, the best part of the whole meal is the garlic spread you get with the pits. Wow! It is amazing!
I will continue to come here for lunch, but not too sure if I would come in for dinner. The food is only ok, nothing you can’t find elsewhere.
The staff is always friendly and the ambiance is very nice and cozy.

I don’t know how this place is still open. Only reason I put 2 stars instead of 1 is because the waitresses are nice and for the design.
We had a big party, most of us had wrong food. I ordered a cheesecake which was frozen, they replaced it but tasted old.
Friend had hummus in part of the greens in her salad… looked like they took that piece from a dish of hummus and threw it in the salad. it was gross!
Bathroom smell like someone peed all over the walls.
I am not happy with this place. None of us are coming back again.

Palm palace used to be decent but recently the food quality and service has been going downhill FAST and over the last year it seems new management has been running it into the ground.
We decided to give it one last try for dinner and waited over 10 mins for a server to come by and greet us. There were only 4 other tables with customers at the time so it wasn’t as if they were busy.
In addition to poor service and what really grossed us out were the little side plates had crusty leftover food on them! I can only imagine what’s going on in the kitchen. Needless to say, we won’t be back.

Service was slow. Our server was very busy but seemed distracted. Too many customers to run around with. She was not attentive and didn’t come around to fill out waters until a member of our party raised a hand. The bread was a little singed and not as good as I expected. It was a little mealy. The beef was the un expected deliciousness that could make the meal. Lamb mixture was not so great and the chicken was adequate. We have had better. The gentleman came around to see how everyone in the room was doing, but he didn’t help, he just talked to his waitresses.

Decent spot for lunch or a casual dinner that has just enough of an ambiance to take you away from your daily grind and transport you to a relaxing, exotic Middle Eastern dining experience. I come to Palm Palace every time I’m in the area for business, since it’s my boss’ favorite restaurant (she even goes so far as to take the whipped garlic butter to go).
For lunch, the white tablecloths, ambient music, and Levantine décor really set the stage for a nicer business lunch with colleagues, clients, or friends without being too stuffy or aloof. Besides, the friendly service and family-​oriented setting make everyone feel comfortable. I think you’ll find like I did that the menu is extensive for both lunch and dinner, and those unfamiliar with this type of cuisine can view the menu’s top choices in a «point at the picture» format if they’re unacquainted with hummus, falafel, fettoush, schwarma, etc.
Aside from the complimentary fresh, warm, puffy bread served with the gold standard of whipped garlic butter and oil/​sesame seeds, I highly recommend selecting a Mezze platter or a dip trio for your table — the portion size is truly large enough to share, especially the tabbouleh bit of the sampler!
I feel as though Palm Palace is really known for their schwarma dishes — the chicken is fresh and savory, and is thinly-​sliced without being dried-​out. I love it on top of their salad — which eats like a meal and is large enough for me to have leftovers. The platters are also a great deal, since they include rice and vegetables.
There are plenty of choices for vegetarians, especially because their veggie broth-​based soups are so hearty, and the vegetarian grape leaves, hummus, veggies, etc. are all so well-​executed. Don’t worry, carnivores — their lamb kabob is delicious, too!
Business access is easy from both directions of travel on N. Squirrel, and the parking lot is huge. This restaurant can get busy, but the interior space is quite large, and it’s evident to me that the staff is trained on how to handle lunch rush. They calm down a bit during weeknight dinners, but service doesn’t falter.

This is the best Mediterranean restaurant in the area. I love it. Everything is delicious.

Came in for lunch with a friend at noon today. It was fairly busy and we had a short wait for a table. The waitress approached us in a timely manner and we had our drinks quickly. My friend and I both ordered from the lunch combo menu (sandwich, soup or salad, rice or fries) for $ 9.99. Our soup and salad were brought quickly but we waited at least half hour for the rest. The waitress apologized and then came the food. We thought it was good for the price. The pita bread was warm and the garlic spread was delicious. My Moroccan Soup was very tasty and the Falafel sandwich was very good. It took quite a while to cash out and the whole lunch experience lasted 1 ½ hrs. Would go back again but the food needs to come out faster.

The food is extremely good and big in quantity. Very unique Middle Eastern setting that is elegant and makes u feel back home in a Lebanese village. Good service

This is my first time at the Palm Palace. I was a bit apprehensive at first because there weren’t many people there. The service was very good and the food was excellent. We enjoyed the Chef Sampler. It was more food than the three of us could eat. I’ll be enjoying some left overs!

The price kid of expensive and they always late when I order the best idea to call them before you arrive to the restaurant I recommend to all who want eat from this restaurant try to eat salad.

Good food. I’d say 3 ½ only because the place was not busy on a Friday night (one red flag) and we waited way too too long for our side of hummus that got missed. Then it seemed out entrees were forever. The waiter was awesome, so attentive, friendly, and super nice! My grape leaves were very tasty, the garlic dip was the best I’ve had in a long time and the hummus was very fresh. The waiting was what took away. Dear Palm Palace, please get quicker on food to table. Alcohol drinks would help too but not the end of the world. Good job on the flavorful food and ambiance.

My gold standard for middle eastern food is kabob house at 12 and vd in warren. With that said, Palm palace didn’t come close. The building and the décor are great, it gives you that middle eastern feel, but I came to eat. $ 8 bucks for a plate of humus, wow. Ok, so it’s pricey it’s a nice joint as long as it tastes right? Well the bread was very hard and just didn’t taste good. To me that’s a major draw for a middle eastern place, fresh bread with garlic. So let’s move onto the lunch, 11.99 for the chicken shawarma plate, say what? 11.99. It just wasn’t that good to justify the price. The portion size was small and the chicken was cold. Really a bummer I was willing to look past the high prices, but the quality needs to be there. For an app, two lunches and drink I hit $ 40 bucks and the quality was just sub par, disappointing.

I enjoyed the chicken schwarma lunch with vegetables. I was impressed with the portion of vegetables compared to other Middle Eastern restaurants of this style (the former LaShish ones, of which this is one). The bread was hot and good. I hoped for more from the Moroccan soup. It was fairly bland.
The ambiance of this restaurant is something, though. It is beautiful, well laid out, well lit.

Last night was simply horrible. Compared to the now-​closed Hall Road location, this location places in last position on many levels. First, the waitress lost our order (!), then the fourth member of our party never got his entrée. Had to ask the manager on duty to fetch it. Food was in much smaller portions than the Hall Road location, and the menu has been greatly scaled-​back as well. Waitress had tattered slacks on… cuffs were destroyed. Looking at using the last of the $ 40 or so on my gift card and hoping they shut the doors on this location as well.
Pity the Clinton/​Hall location went out of business, because they were truly great.

We were visiting a customer in the area and they suggested this lovely place for lunch. They came with us and made recommendations but I also ventured out on my own. They were really right about the garlic paste that comes with the hummus, absolutely delicious. Got the one with pine nuts which I hadn’t seen in a restaurant before. Excellent!
The tabouli salad was great as well. Like that they include slices of lemon.
All of the kebabs looked excellent and I got the lamb special which had lots of variety and unique flavors. All the meat was well seasoned and very tender.
If you live here I’m jealous because I would definitely come back!

We’ve been here a couple of times before, & we come back for the nice atmosphere & good food. On a Sunday thou, we invited our family for Moroccan food (tajin), 10 mins after ordering, the waiter told us they were all out! Plus, it took them a good 40 minutes to get the food out, (there were only 3 small groups of people then).
Overall, very good food, but won’t be back on Sundays for lunch.

I loved the food and service! Place is elegant, cozy for an intimate date night, or a family dinner. We went out as a family since my kids got such a good report, to celebrate. It’s expensive, but Halal, and with flavorful food. We entered the plaza with intention to go to Applebees, but cuz hubby wanted meat, and Halal, we noticed Middle eastern/​Mediterranean theme.
Food Quantity is good for two ppl a plate. if eaten with 1 app. Soup is not the usual lentil, but real hearty and tasty. everything is not the usual Dearborn Flavor, but really different and similar all at the same. I will surely come back.
family of 6, we ordered 1 app, pitcher of smoothie, 4 entrees and 1 family plate, with 2 coffee and side dessert cost us $ 160 including tip/​service charge.

Great place, great food, sad to see it closing.
First time in Detroit area, made the stay worth while.
