Great dining experience. Food was amazing I would heavily recommend the chicken and waffles and the tuna sushi pizza. Plus a big menu including local carton craft brew and many other micro brews. Look forward to coming back again.

Was in need of a great summertime meal before heading over to WindanSea for music out on the deck and wanted to have something more interesting than Thai(which is good) or Memphis Pig Out(always a standby) and walked down to the Gaslight for our second dinner there. First time, was surprised at the varied menu and the delicious burger and the fantastic truffle fries. Husband ordered that this time and the fries were just as good. This Saturday night, had the amazing chicken tacos(still thinking about them) with a grilled cob of corn. Corn was perfect with cilantro butter and covered in grated cheese. The chicken was spicy and that was offset with cool slices of pickled radish and avocado. Washed it all down with a killer cider beer as we watched the Mets game on the large screen TVs. Could not have been better(well, maybe, the Mets lost that night…)

Amazing IPA selection. Great to see Sixpoint on tap along with lots of others. And this place is not just about that beer… the food is surprisingly good.

The bar is called gaslight! But only because there is a picture of an actual gaslight outside in the front, it is not written… Once you get past the confusion there you can go inside and enjoy one of the many craft beers they have to offer or liquor too if that’s your thing. This bar has a speak easy vibe with a touch of hipster. The hipster part mainly comes from the fact that the name of the bar is not words, it’s a picture. I tasted a number of items on the menu to say the food there is delicious! Especially — the sushi pizza, garlic shrimp, Brussels sprouts and the chicken and waffles. It is a casual setting with tvs above the bar. The service was fantastic. Patrick, our waiter was very knowledgable of all the beer on the menu and more importantly extremely patient in helping our table order the perfect beer. Overall I had great experience. One thing to note is they do not recommend bringing children and they do not have room for strollers. Oh well, I’ll still go back!

I was going to give it a two but we ended with the chocolate pecan pie which although cold took quite some time to receive in this mostly empty restaurant and it was delicious If beer is your thing they certainly have that the food however is an after thought My husband had the chicken pot pie the watery chicken pot pie but it was tasty just way too watery I had the bolognese salty tangy and not very good undercooked pasta(I’m Italian I know al dente) just not good not awful but for 22 bucks it wasn’t worth it the roasted oysters are delicious the side of Brussel sprouts were a joke instead of roasting them or boiling them or pan frying them they used the deep fryer so they were brown and hard I ate them only because I was starving and I couldn’t eat my bolognese Go have a drink get some fries or a snack maybe a burger BUTDONOTEATDINNER

I loved this place, was a great addition to the area until the service went to shit. I used to go here 1 – 2 times a week, loved the food and drinks but the service went from so so to the worst I’ve seen. The last and final time I was there the service was so bad that we ended up canceling the diners we had ordered(over an HR into waiting) and just paying for the one drink we got, even though we had ordered more. This place isn’t cheap but the food and drinks were worth it. Sad to say I would never go back. It’s a shame, was one of my go to places but the service ruined it. The waitress was always rude, she waited on us almost every single time we were there, I’ve never had such shitty service from one person. I’d go back if they fired her. I’m giving this one star because I have to, otherwise it would be zero.

This is one of my favorite local spots. Atlantic Highlands is quickly becoming a great hotspot for food and drink. My SO and I love hitting up Carton Brewing for a flight of this weeks new beers and then heading over to Gaslight for some snacks and of course, more beer. I’m sure that the other reviews have mentioned the great selection of local craft beer and small batch whiskey. The food is also great. On our last visit, we had the special burger which was topped with mushrooms and horseradish. We almost had to order another, but we were insanely full from the oyster appetizer and Fish & Chips. The oysters are outstanding. If you like beer and classed up pub food, stop here after your visit to Carton.

Good beer selection. Decent menu, a bit pricey. The main reason for the 2-star rating is because on Unilocal it says this establishment offers happy hour. We arrived and asked the bartender about happy hour. We were informed they don’t do happy hour. We ended up feeling mislead and overcharged.

When you walk in there is the very overwhelming smell of fish. It really over takes you. Other than that the drinks are good and the venue is super casual, not table clothes type of place. Despite the smell, the bar was pretty crowded when I came here but the smell is all that really stood out.

Amazing craft beer selection! The chicken and waffles is unbelievably delicious. A great spot to check out if you are in Atlantic Highlands. I’ve been here a few times and I haven’t been disappointed. The ambiance in this place is great– to preserve that I would suggest not place that I would suggest not bringing the kiddos.

To this day, I’m not quite sure what the actual name of this place is. Some refer to it as Gaslight, while others refer to it as the Mezze Cantina. There are even two separate Unilocal pages for the same place with different names! Since there is really nothing remotely ‘cantina like’ about this place, I decided to review under Gaslight. But names aside, I can tell you one thing. The food and beer is exceptional and should not be missed. I first came here about a year ago after visiting Carton Brewing down the street. Not only will you find local beers by Carton and Kane on their draft list, but you will also find some other solid offerings. It seems like the bartenders and servers here really know what they are talking about and are happy to answer any food or beverage questions. I also got the vibe that if you come here enough, they will remember you as I saw a lot of regulars chatting extensively with the staff. Now as for the food, the C.B.S. burger is up there as one of the better burgers I’ve had in a long time. It is topped with bacon, onions, and white cheddar and is sandwiched on a brioche bun, accompanied with fries. I always ask for my burger medium rare and this thing was practically still moo’ing. It was great but dare I say almost too rare? I still devoured it and had dreams about it later that night. Just be forewarned that you may want to ask for your burger slightly more cooked if bloody as hell isn’t your thing. Finally, it’s important to note that you can spend a significant amount of $ here. My burger was $ 13 which I suppose isn’t terrible, given the quality, but ain’t cheap by any means. Before taking our order, our server mentioned one of the specials which was a $ 27 burger, which almost made me laugh right in her face. So, it can be that kinda place. Just know that going in. Otherwise, when it comes to fine food and drinks, the Gaslight/Mezze Cantina has got you covered.

I’d really like to give this a 2.5 but… First off if you are going just for the beer I’d give this 4 stars. I’d have given this 5 but it wasn’t that busy and the bartender wasn’t much into talking. I like to talk beer. They had 25 taps. All good stuff. No pseudo micros or semi crafts. These were all quality beer. A few local breweries, some NY breweries, CA, etc. I tasted probably 7 beers and they were all fresh and worthy of drinking. Where I had to part company was the food. The menu is small. Only a few things to choose from. I had the chicken pot pie and my wife had the mussels(appy). She complained that the mussels, albeit large, were flavorless. I thought the pot pie was OK. Nothing to brag about. The food prices were a bit hefty. I probably won’t return because we live probably 20 miles from there but if in the area I certainly would pop in for the beer and probably eat elsewhere.

Not sure about some negative reviews, but the food and service was excellent! Loved the beer selection too and the variety on the menu. The pot pie is bangin.

good concept and all but unfriendly staff, or maybe thats just the general vibe because it’s every single time I’ve been there(referring to bar staff, not nice hostess at the front door) and we were told on SAT night it was last call, before 11pm. the bar was almost full and people were at tables, eating, relaxing, talking. was a nice vibe. But, last call? So went across the street to Harborside(where it actually felt like a Sat. night and drinks were flowing) and in walks the bartender from Gaslight to have some drinks there. Uncool. Get it together, guys. and get a phone # so people can get in touch. From what I understand, they have a «no kid» policy. So don’t waste your time. Citing a fire code issue– even when people break down their strollers and such. So how would a disabled person in a wheelchair get inside to dine or drink? OH, they won’t. Upside: in a cool building. Cool décor. Umm, that’s really it. PS, $ 40 for wings, a salad and 2 beers? Eh. Plenty of other options in and around town.

We’ve been to the Gaslight at least 10 – 12 times since they opened. We’ve never had a bad meal and the beer selection is always top shelf. Burgers are great, chicken special is always good and when they had shrimp and grits, it was delightful. The reason for the 4 stars and not 5, beers are always great, but a little pricey. Servers are very knowledgeable. I don’t understand the other reviews, as I’ve tried almost everything on the menu. Excellent restaurant. Who needs a phone nowadays anyways!!! Get a life people

First the good. Beer selection was great. Lots of seasonal beers that are not often on tap as well as a good selection of local brews. Service was good, the server was knowledgeable about the beers and was able to steer my friend towards a good choice based on other beers he enjoys. Server was attentive, friendly, and personable. Now for everything else. We arrived around 4:30 and were informed the dinner menu(which was what we were provided) wasn’t available until 5. The server then came back and asked if we wanted appetizers(which was confusing when we were just told the kitchen wasn’t open. We decided to order an appetizer(more about that later) but then I noticed some people at the bar with a burger(from the dinner menu). Not a huge deal but slightly confusing. Food was boring and dry. Tried the wings and the burger. Wings were dry and needed to be doused in the sauces(hot and Korean bbq) to make them palatable. Sauces were unremarkable. Hot sauce seemed to be right out of a bottle. Burger was overdone when I cut into it(ordered medium), was dry, and lacked flavor. Bacon on the burger was not crisp and seemed reheated. Fries were pretty good and seasoned well but were brought down by how disappointing the rest of the food was. Food was definitely overpriced. I would consider going back for some drinks but would not order food.

If you’re into beers this place has them, incredible ones not a bad one on tap, and I think there are 27 or so. The bartenders are great and there are a couple big TVs so you won’t miss the game. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable.

So dissappointed with the management and owner of this establishment. My family and I have eaten here many of times, and upon entering this Saturday we were turned away because we had a car seat for our 3 month old. At first their excuse was that it was a «fire hazard», then we were told by management that it was the owners desicion because it «impeded business», and then finally we were told by the owner it was in reaction to an accident that happened where a child was knocked over in a car seat. I can’t imagine that this choice to refuse service to children in a family neighborhood is going to be a good one, nonetheless they have lost a patron in me and my family.

No, you’re not crazy. They have no phone number. They don’t take reservations. They don’t have to. I don’t know why there’s such great food at a beer place. They do close the kitchen before the pub so be aware. I would gladly go here every day, I wish it wasn’t a drive for me. Everything has been delicious every time I’ve gone. And they have brussels sprouts and cauliflower on the menu as regulars. It can be pricey but it’s so fantastic. Wait staff is friendly.

****I was very impressed! Will definitely be back regularly!**** The name: I struggled to find a solid review for this place online due to the fact that it has no name. LITERALLY. You can call it Mezza Luna, Gas Light, 33 or whatever you want. Just don’t call it anything short of fantastic! This establishment is run by the same people as Copper Canyon next door. Just like Copper Canyon everything is top notch. I was shocked that it was empty on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. The first thing I noticed was how comfortable the seats at the tables are. Very nicely padded and comfy enough for the entire game(any game). Our server was extremely enthusiastic, friendly, outgoing, helpful and knowledgeable about the food and beer selection. He was genuinely passionate about his beer and food knowledge. The kitchen was very fast and the meal was perfectly paced. The draft beer selection was very, very large, diversified and full of great beer from all over the country. I can’t recall ever seeing a single milk stout on tap, let alone TWO! It changes regularly and any craft beer lover will have reason enough to visit often even without being hungry. The food was amazing. Just fantastic. We tried the roasted oyster and hummus appetizer. Some of the best oysters I have ever tasted. I could have eaten just hummus and oysters for the next week! The hummus had a wonderful presentation and flavor. The pita chips with it were so addicting they nearly ruined my lunch! My wife and I both tried the C.B.S.(Chuck, brisket, sirloin) Burger. We both loved it. Not only was the flavor outstanding, but it was exceptionally moist. It’s very tough to keep a burger with smoked brisket juicy and this was dripping wet. My dad tried the Lamb Burger and proclaimed it was better than any Gyro he has tasted. All of us noticed that the shoestring fries were very fresh and had something unique about them. It almost tasted like a bit of malt vinegar and sweetness. Not a sugary sweetness, but just a bit of depth and complexity that I have never had with a fried potato! Turns out it was truffle oil and a special oil that it was cooked in. I look forward to visiting again next time we are in town. My Dad visits all the time and has never had a bad meal! Damn, I’m making myself hungry again as I type! Can they deliver to DC?
