Not a fan. The food is extremely overpriced for the quality and taste. We spent a lot of money on food that was bland and drinks that were watery… Even the dessert was a disappointment… Needless to say, we won’t be going back.

I would give this restaurant less than a star if I could. Terrible Mexican food at an expensive price. The guacamole was 15.00 and it was very bland and below average. If I can make Mexican food better at home than why bother going here. The quesadillas were 19.00 and horrible. I ate better ones at Chiles. Also, the chips and salsa, sour cream was extra. I never paid for these at any other restaurant. I don’t mind spending money if it’s good food. This place thinks it’s an upper class restaurant. In reality, it’s just bad expensive food.

Been going here for years, still love it to this day. Love the lamb chops with the tangy mango salsa, as well as the strip steak with tasty fries. The food is so perfectly spiced and delicious. I disagree that the food is bland or even overpriced. This restaurant is definitely one of the my favorites. Love love love this place!!!

Very good restaurant. Excellent tequila choices. Guacamole and chips are great but they charges for each thing. Arugula and spinach salad is fantastic. The crab cake is jumbo lump crab meat and large and delicious. Southwestern fare.

Nice atmosphere, sat down right away and the staff was very friendly. Not many food /drink options and the prices are VERY high. $ 12 for chips and guac. Got an app and a regular margarita and left. Probably won’t be back.

This is our second time visiting Copper Canyon both times with reservations. Both times were we sat in the very loud Bar side of the restaurant. Our entrees both times were not at all appetizing. The fish tacos were served as over breaded fish sticks stuck on top of a tiny amount of cabbage on a small size tortilla. The pork chop that we ordered looked more appropriate for am upscale Mexican place but it was extremely salty and under cooked(way too close to rare). Both times the margaritas have been overly bitter. They are also overpriced, small portion size with a large price tag. I have been disappointed both times in the service also. Just not friendly, not interested servers who seem bored.

Great food and excellent service. I would recommend making a reservation. We were able to sneak in at 4 but were told we had a time limit.

We had a great experience for our first time at Copper Canyon«lounge»!!! My husband’s NY strip steak ranked in the top 3 meals he has ever had… EVER! The margarita’s were delicious and our service from Mackenzie was top notch! I ate the fish tacos — they were very good and since I have never had them before, can’t compare to others. The lounge is the right spot for a laid back dining experience. If you are going to eat at copper canyon set your expectations, as the main dining room has a strict turnover time — so you may feel rushed. If you are not in a hurry — get a seat in the lounge and take your time over chips /salsa/margaritas and conversation! We will definitely go back, ask for Mackenzie!

Too many rules! The customer is led to believe that you serve Copper Canyon. The $ 12 drinks are tiny! After two rounds on a date the bill is already at $ 48, not that bad if the drinks were bold pours! If you want appetizers that’s ok but you must also order your entrée at the same time. It seems like they want complete control of the dining experience and the rules are unyielding. The place was not busy and I was feeling rushed. It’s too bad because the food is ok, but I felt like I was being dictated throughout. The staff seems to hate the customers. Unless things change I’ll never return! Too bad because I support the businesses with integrity in Atlantic Highlands.

The rules and attitude at this place ruin how good the food can be. But it’s erratic. Had a 645 reservation, which was not ready until 705. Apparently they can take a reservation, wiht the caveat that you agree to be done in 2 hours(really?) but they cant keep a reservation. Then we were told to go outside but you cannot stand in the bar area. if there are no seats in there, you cant wait in there. again… really? The service when we were finally seated was amateur and confused. the food was good but my steak was fatty, and grizzly– not normally the case. For the price, i’d go elsewhere. Unless you want to get take out from there it’s not worth it. Too many rules, rude and inexperienced help, and you cant have a drink at the bar unless there is an empty seat.

We had a very pleasant experience on a Friday night. We phoned ahead and found out a table would be available in a half hour and we were then seated when we arrived. We had the chips and salsa which were some of the best anywhere. I had the Copper Canyon Margarita which was excellent. For entrees we ordered the shrimp risotto, halibut special, and a chicken fajita. All of them looked fantastic and tasted great. We did not order dessert. This was our first time here and we will come back.

Seriously? Not impressed. Tuna taquitos definitely came from the fridge. Short rib tacos were cubed, not shredded. Sriracha calamari was just, I don’t know. Brie was good but salty. Crab cake not lumpy. Service not as bad as some other reviews. Whatever.

If you ever have a craving for either a smooth tequila or lump crab cakes, this is your place. I give 5 stars because they have the best crab cake I have ever had to date. I consider myself a crab cake ho I’ll try them anywhere or if there is a hint that it might be good. The Canyon wins hands down. They have a huge tequila menu that will knock your sandals off. The Reposado tequila are so smooth that it’s tough to stop at one… two. ok three! The steak is a specialty here. You must try the crab cakes and steak. A little loud inside but the great food overpowers this negative. Get reservations absolutely.

Dear Copper Canyon, Let me explain a few things to you from one restaurant veteran to another: You cannot just chop up a piece of fruit and declare it «salsa». This word«salsa» implies lime juice, hot peppers of some variety, cilantro, etc. You are not serving salsa but FRUITCOCKTAIL! Your customers are not rubes. We know a piece of chopped pineapple with nothing else in it when we are being charged for it. You haven’t changed your menu in 10 years. We are so bored that I fell asleep while typing this sentence. Half the time your servers are either pretentious or they forget we’re there. Whenever I get someone on the phone to make a reservation, they tell me they’re too busy to talk. But not so busy that they can’t answer the phone or can’t sit there texting when we walk in the door. On multiple occasions over the past few months I’ve sent emails & left voice messages for management, but you’re too busy making fruit cocktail to return my calls. I’m breaking up with you for a restaurant who makes REAL salsa.

I wish I had read the reviews before giving this place a try. Instead, I’ll add my story of woe to the pile. Oddly, it bears an uncanny resemblance to the others. It’s laughable how many other people experienced the the whole make-sure-you-are-out-of-here-by-6pm-because-we-are-a-very-VERY-elite-restaurant routine. When we left at 6:15pm as requested, the place was STILL empty. With that, we join the club of customers who got treated like peons because we didn’t make a reservation on a Thursday night. We also join the club of customers who we served bland food. Guac, bland(try some lime and salt). Fajitas, bland.(Again, salt!) Margarita, bland. I’ve had plenty of margaritas that don’t use a mix, and they were still delicious. I giggled because half their menu is quesadillas. $ 17 quesadillas, folks. Almost anyone can put some cheese and meat between two tortillas and make it taste great! When I visit a restaurant described with three $($$$!), I expect much more than a list of quesadillas under their entrée offerings. And what kind of Tex Mex place doesn’t have queso dip on their menu?! It’s an insult to all Texans everywhere. Please DON’T WASTEYOURTIMEORMONEY. You’ll get treated poorly so they can keep up the illusion that they are a highly desirable establishment. It’s a marketing tool to trick you into begging to eat there. Don’t fall for it. You will pay for bland chips and salsa, and $ 2 for a mouthful(they called it a «side») of cheese. They get one star because our waiter was the nicest. I hope he gets a job at a nicer place.

This was my first time dining at a table. The dining room was warm and comfy, but the lights could have been dimmed a bit. The salsa and chips were amazing as always. We ordered the bacon guacamole. The bacon seemed like an afterthought, just buts of crispy bacon mixed into the guac. The guacamole itself was great, so I’m not complaining. The duck tacos(special) were amazing. I would go back and eat those all the time if they were on the regular menu. The NY Strip on the menu is worthy of it’s reputation. If it was Rare, as ordered, instead of Medium Rare– Medium, it would have been the best steak I’d had in months. We were so full after all of that, we had to skip dessert. I will say that there were several of their Smokin’ Margaritas consumed and they were one of the highlights of the night.

Will not come here again, when calling to make a reservation for 5PM they agreed to seat us «if we promised to be out by 6:45.» When we called telling them we were on our way but a little late, they were extremely impolite and stressing that«we were told we had to be out by 6:45,» and after telling them we would do our best to get there as quickly as we could, they again repeated we needed to be out of there quickly. When we got there, they refused to even seat us. If you want a nice dinner where you can relax and take your time enjoying a meal, do not come here. If you don’t mind being rushed and reminded that you have to be out by a certain time, then order the risotto.
