I don’t really get it maybe, Atlantic Highlands is a pretty blue collar town unless your buying Real Estate with a view, then bring the Brinks truck. This place is a small boutique hotel, decently appointed but no palace by any stretch. Hope your a fan of getting up early because none of the window treatments are actually functional so here comes the sun ! Street side is east facing and you have an awesome view of phone poles and telephone wires from your balcony. Grossly overpriced, save your money and go to the beach instead, it’s a bit of a drive from here so what exactly gives? About as nice as your average Marriott or Hilton but costs more… go figure. Not likely to have a return engagement.

I’d give this hotel a 2.5. Blue Bay Inn was a beautiful hotel with clean rooms and located in a nice part of town within walking distance of the water. We stayed in the king suite which was decently spacious. The hotel overall was cute but I wouldn’t say it was as antique as it advertised. Having said all that we were disappointed with the price which was $ 200+ per night for a cool weekend in early October(i.e. not the busy summer season). The tv in the room was finicky and was pretty old. The available tv channels were so-so. There wasn’t any breakfast served in the morning unless you wanted to pay at the restaurant down stairs. The wifi was impressively slow. The bathroom looked like every other hotel bathroom I’ve ever seen. Their phones were down the entire weekend so we had to walk downstairs if we needed to talk to somebody. They did serve coffee in the morning but it was the basic Keurig coffee. Again we liked the hotel, but after some discussion we thought 100 – 150 per night would have been more reasonable.

This is a cute and relaxing place. The front desk is very nice, and they worked with us in storing luggage and getting us a room AFTER we’d checked out because we weren’t ready to go home. It doesn’t pretend to be a four star hotel and that’s okay. The ambiance is casual and upscale. Rooms are clean and beautiful for the price. And the location is ideal for vacationers without a car(like us) who were looking to spend time at the beach. Overall, really special place that’s not too fussy and very clean.
