Buffets are usually quantity over quality and this one pretty much is the same thing. Nothing stood out, a monotone beat across the assembly line of meh. The cost to enter was comped and several of us got crab legs, which cost extra by the way, and just not worth it.

It had been quite a few years since I was here last and I eagerly looked forward to dining here. I was very disappointed that the Seafood Station only had crab legs and shrimp. I remember when they offered several options, including a seafood soup. It’s the reason we sought out the buffet. My choices were limited, as I’m vegetarian. Had some shrimp and found some broiled filet at another station. Both were very good. Options for side dishes were mainly gooey or fried selections that were not appetizing. The cappucino machine I remembered was gone and the dessert selections were just meh. While the food was disappointing the service was EXCELLENT. I feel so bad for the employees who will be out of work when this place closes. Despite the fact that the end is just days away everyone we encountered here was so friendly and went above and beyond in doing their job.

We enjoy coming to this buffet! Good selection of different kinds of food. They keep food stocked in all areas of the buffet. We enjoy the all you can eat crabs! Friendly staff!

One Star for friendly staff. ZERO stars for food. The food is absolutely disgusting. For an overpriced buffet I was expecting more variety and better tasting food. 20 bucks extra to add crab legs to your buffet. Seriously ??? 20 bucks for crappy ass food and you want me to pay a whopping 40 bucks just to eat this crappy food with crablegs? I seriously regret spending 22 bucks on this buffet. A Golden Corral is half the price with way better food and more variety ! Yikes. I MOSTCERTAINLYWILLNOTBERETURNING.

If you eat here don’t expect snow crab legs unless you shell out an extra $ 20 per person. They were worth it. As far as the rest of the food I didn’t like it. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great either. The atmosphere was pretty laid back and the place was clean. Get there early because they start putting way hot food at 9:00 but you can eat until 9:45 or 10:00

$ 14 for children, $ 20 for adults, $ 40 if you wish all you can eat crab legs to be included. My fiancé and I went for the standard $ 20 for adults. With tax, totaled to around $ 43. The décor is beautiful. The wait staff and the staff behind the bar and serving stations are amazing in that they are prompt, friendly, and helpful.(A call out to my last server, Kevin, who was on top of my needing tea; I got sick while staying at Showboat, where this buffet is located inside of) There are all the positives for this place. Friday buffet doesn’t start until 4PM, and there’s only one little bench set up that can fit three or four adults on it. If you get there late, you’ll be waiting for a while. The food’s colors were largely muted and temperature was luke warm, even if you were at the start of service for day. You might think that, in a Mardi Gras hotel/casino, in a buffet called the French Quarter Buffet, you might get your hand on some French or Louisiana food. You thought wrong. No gumbo, no pralines, no beignets, no boudin, no jambalaya, no oxtail soup… if you were hoping to have any taste of Louisiana or the French Quarter at this buffet, you will be sorely disappointed.

Went here so many times just forgot to write a review recently just went wasn’t pleased at all! What I’m use to was not the same the food lost it’s quality… the prices have changed too. They say it’s 19.99 $ everyday all day but if you want the snow carb legs it’s a 20 $ extra charge, so your paying about 40 $ which is ridiculous. I actually paid for the crab legs and was highly disappointed. I use to like the pasta station where you talk to the chef personally and tell him exactly what kind of pasta dish you want. Highly disappointed with that they lost the variety with that didn’t have much selections and when I got my food the pasta wasn’t cooked and the chicken was over done as if it was already cooked and just heated up again. I love AC but will not he returning back here again.

I do not like buffets. ATALL. I don’t eat large quantities food and the food I do eat, I prefer to be high quality and nutritious. Stuffing my face with cheap food is not appealing to me in the slightest. So take this review with a grain of salt if your opinion on this differs from mine. I visited the French Quarter Buffet as part of a bachelorette party. There were 12 of us gals staying and partying at Showboat, so I can definitely see why the variety, convenience, and affordability of the buffet persuaded the co-MOHs to choose this as a dinner location. That is the ONLY redeeming feature of this place– it’s good for groups on a budget. So why was it so bad? First of all, the way they manage this buffet is terrible. The buffet closes at 9 pm(so early for a Sat night!) but they allow a massive 20 minute line to accumulate at 815 pm. WTH? Next, service is just odd. Our waitress looked like she was rode hard and put away wet… literally. While she brought out complimentary crab legs for us(we didn’t pay for that option), she also made us feel guilty about her staying late to take our table and uncomfortably yelled at us about her 60 days of sobriety when the bride-to-be offered to buy her a drink. And last, but certainly not least, the food was an atrocity. In the words of my sister, Kelly A., «everything is gray». I could not find a single thing that looked remotely fresh or healthy. It was a really good thing I had drank more than my fair share of rum and cokes in the hotel room before dinner because Drunk Jill L was able to shove down some fried chicken, mac n cheese, and some of those complimentary crab legs with minimal guilt/disgust. Just do yourself a favor– do not come here. There seems to be much better buffets at other casinos. Unless you are committed to not leaving Showboat, find somewhere else to get your AYCE fix.

Staying at Trump — decided to take the kids(9 and 11) to a typical buffet so they could enjoy the variety, albeit not the quality. Just as expected. French Quarter was not too expensive — $ 19.99 for adults and $ 13.99 for children. Had a pretty long line of diners waiting for seats at about 6:30 on a weeknight. The restaurant had one section closed off — probably not enough wait staff. Once seated, we were asked for drinks and then my wife took the kids to the buffet while I waited at the table. Kids came back with the usual assortment of kid foods — pizza, fried chicken, assortment of other items. Wife told me not to expect much and she was right. We have been here years ago and the selection and quality was so much better. Carving station had just roast turkey available, though there seemed to be roast beef at one point given the bowl of horse radish dressing. OK for turkey. Assortment of pizza — most looked dry and pieces cut and inserted to make whole pies. Pasta station, assorted penne, rigatoni and other dishes. Watched a lady pick out all the cut italian sausage from one pan of rigatoni. Seafood was kind of disappointing — dried out fish, and typical shrimp cocktail — which was okay. Chinese station had a typical assortment of fried rice, lo mien, veggies, general tsao’s chicken — all overcooked. They had fried chicken which was the highlight. Desserts were good though. So, go with low expectations, bring hungry kids who have no discerning palate and have eyes on lots of pastries, ice cream and sweet things. Staff were fine and were busy bussing dishes, serving drink orders. Try for a coupon or comp if you can save the money.

The buffet came with my livingsocial deal for a room at Showboat. While the French Quarter Buffet is better than the average Old Country Buffet that you would find in any town, it isn’t much better, and it should be better, a lot better. I have had buffets in most of the other casinos, and this has been the worst. Wild West gives you a steak cooked to order, Harrah’s has all sorts of seafood, Borgata’s options are top notch. Showboats’ manhattan clam chowder was pretty great, and some of the pasta salads, but those were the only high points. The fried chicken was dry, the collards were fairly tasteless, the fish taco mushy. The garlic potatoes weren’t bad, nor the cornbread stuffing. You could get snow crab legs added to your meal, but you have to pay an extra $ 15. The crab legs that I saw people walking around with didn’t seem worth it. Getting drinks was also a pain, we charged the meal to the room, but we had to pay cash(couldn’t even use a card) for each drink. They also required that we pay the cash before they bring each individual drink over, instead of getting a bill at the end of the meal. The server also told us that we had to leave our receipt for the meal on top of the table where it is visible. I am sure that there are people who try to sneak in, or sneak out without paying, but the whole process left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I want to be clear, that after doing all of this, everyone we dealt with was perfectly friendly, but it screams, «We think you’re a scumbag. Oh, you’re not a scumbag? Then welcome!» Not really how I want to be treated, especially since I could find a better buffet in numerous places in AC. Retraction: I do not think that the French Quarter Buffet is what made me get sick.

This is the worst buffet in Atlantic city! They dropped the price, but the buffet selection becomes very limited. For $ 19.95 you can only eat some pizza, fried stuff and some other stuff which doesn’t look tasty at all. Due to the non-enticing food, we decided not to go back there again. If you add $ 14.95 you can get snowcrab legs but most chinese buffet offer snowcrab legs for less than $ 15 anyway. Are you going to pay $ 34.95 for less selection?

The buffet is a bit pricey but your offered a wide range of food. It took a while for my party and I to pay and be seated because apparently their are two lines one for members and the other for non members. If your a non member such as my party you have to wait for the members to be dealt with first, or for another cashier to open. Once we were seated our drink orders were taken immediately and we were told by our server to help our selves to the buffet. I can’t remember all that I ate but certain dishes stood out to me one being the fried chicken. It was seasoned so well and it was very crispy, it was fried perfectly. I also enjoyed the fish tacos, and the Singapore noodles were good. I also liked the fact that they had a large variety of diabetic dessert. The pumpkin ice cream OMG love love loved it. Since having pumpkin Ice cream from here I have been on the hunt for it. The buffet for non members at lunch time is $ 26.00 and dinner is around $ 45.00

We came here on a Monday night ~6pm. There were maybe 2 tables of people but right after we entered the buffet, a bunch of people came in. We paid ~$ 25 each for dinner. We waited a little bit to be seated but once we were seated the waitress was very attentive. She was very good with taking our drink order and refilling it as well. She was also very good with clearing our tables once we got up to get more food. The food selection is not the best; it was only ok. There was a pasta station next to the meat carving station so that was nice. You wait on line to have the pasta made so it comes out hot and they give you such a big portion. One bad thing is that when I went to get ice cream(vanilla & mint chocolate chip), the mint chocolate chip was all melted. That was disappointing.

The food here used to be awesome. The exclusive Diamond members foods were nicer too, now its mediocre. Nice American comfortable food, Asian, Italian, Deserts, Salad Bar, Fish, and Rotisserie. Only annoying thing is the lines that expand that you might have to follow to get something in a certain area. Thats all. Nice French Quarter Décor, sometimes youll get a lovely and friendly waiter for drinks but then they disappear on you sometimes. Great place to use your comp! Best to come here for dinner. The food is fresher then!

We ate at the French Quarter Buffet last night after a long day at a conference. It’s cafeteria food, and a lot of it, with a lot of choices. Service was good and friendly. Drinks are cheap! I ordered some sort of girlie drink(can’t remember the name) and he ordered a beer, and the total was 8.25. Not bad at all. The buffet includes the all you can eat feeding trough, sodas, coffees, etc. I don’t do well at all you can eat since I am limited with how much I can eat, but there was a decent variety. The carving station had turkey or brisket. The brisket was roasted like a roast beef, and it didn’t work. I ate mine because I needed the protein, he didn’t, saying it was like a sponge. The turkey was good. I had a piece of fried chicken and that was good, too. One of the more interesting offerings was the Philly cheesesteak dumplings. Hilarious. I tried a little of the tomato soup and found that I liked the tomato soup down at the Earl of Sandwich much better. Due to an allergy I can’t eat shrimp, lobster or crab, and miss them terribly. He had a lot of fried shrimp, said it was ok. There were salads, the pasta stations, Asian offerings, etc. Lots of typical, carbohydrate-laden comfort food like mashed potatoes, stuffing, bread pudding, etc. There were a bunch of desserts but they weren’t labeled correctly, so it was hit or miss when choosing. I had a small dish of ice cream and was satisfied. It’s pricey for what it is and I think that other than one group of obvious 21 year olds, we were the youngest people there. I was disappointed that there weren’t more seafood offerings outside of the shrimp & crawfish I saw, since those are the ones I can’t eat, but I still left full(how could you not?). If you’re there and need food, and don’t want to leave the hotel, this is good.

Decided to give the French Quarter a review for lunch and left wanting a bit more compared to other buffet’s I frequently visit. The design of the buffet is very nice and I actually like it more so then others so it got some props on that. So let’s get to the food now. but to make a long story short I am a typical dinner buffet guy so my reviews on lunch buffet’s are limited but I’ll give a quick one here. Top choices I found to be decent to good at most with nothing being amazing. were the Mussel’s Marinara, breaded Pollock fish, Singapore noodles,(mei fun curry dish), sliced turkey with gravy, and mashed potatoes that were made from scrap as I could tell in the texture and taste. Now bad choices that pushed me to keep this buffet at a max 3 star on a lunch review. Jambalaya was very bland, white rice with some peppers thrown in it and chicken had no kick or spice like a real Jumbalaya almost insulting to even offer it like this. Vodka Penne was very bad no taste one again, ravioli’s were very bland. the list goes on. Desert was decent but nothing outstanding. All around this buffet has a good selection for a lunch buffet and the actual quality of food was fresh but it was just too lacking in taste a little spices and some more invested time to make a better dish would put this buffet into a top spot for lunch.

The French Quarter buffet is located on the second floor at the Showboat Casino. The easiest way to get there is through the escalator opposite the hotel check-in. There are 3 separate entrances into the buffet, one for diamond members, one for platinum and the last for gold members –heheh. The buffet is indeed standard buffet fare. I’ve been to both the breakfast and lunch buffets. The highlight of the breakfast buffet is the egg station where you could have made to order omelets, fried eggs or anything else made with egg. The choice of toppings was impressive too. I noticed they also offered cheese blintzes along with the two types of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and seasoned potatoes(these were excellent). As for lunch and dinner, the buffet expand to include a carvery with various meats depending on the day and other foods like fried chicken, etc. The true highlight of the French Quarter buffet is the seafood. I have experienced Alaskan crab legs, shrimp cocktail, and fresh oysters and they are indeed fresh and plentiful. For about $ 25, I think it is more than reasonable considering the seafood offerings. Finally, as for the ambiance, the décor is like being in the French Quarter in NOLA with fake balconies and street signs. Service is also excellent and servers all work hard and serve drinks quickly. All in all, the buffet here is really casino-standard, and when we visit casinos, isn’t that what we should expect?

The kind of buffet you only go to if you have free passes to it. As we were staying here at Showboat for the week we used the freebies we received in the mail for it. That was a good thing since as far as «all you can eat» buffets go this one is so-so. Most of the food is ok, but nothing fantastic. The normal selection of pastas, meats, carving station, chicken dishes, salads, peel yourself shrimp, desserts, etc. I must say the fresh turkey and fried chicken were really good. We also had all you can eat lobster. Hey, even though the lobsters are not the highest quality it was still all you could shove in your mouth! Really good ice cream here too as the butter pecan was a standout. The place itself is large with a lot of seating, and seems clean overall. I did not get food poisoning which was a bonus! Also, sitting here and looking around we could not help but notice we were surrounded by blue hairs. We felt like we were eating at the kiddie table at a family event! Even funnier was the guy sitting next to me with such a bad toupee it should have come equipped with a chin strap! Fun times!
