Small-ish wine shop in the casino. Probably your best bet if your looking for something particular on the strip. Also probably the best bet if you’re headed to Chef Vola’s, which is BYOB. A bit pricey.

Finding a proper cigar in Atlantic city isn’t very difficult, but finding someone who can help educate you on the different varieties of cigars? Now that’s a feat! At A Time For Wine the staff is super knowledgable about all of the cigars and wine they sell. The dude that helped us informed us that he had smoked almost every cigar they sell – with the exception of the $ 150 beast. In addition to cigars and wine this shop has creative flasks, wine bottle holders, and other similar toys. Best of all, if you’re a casino baller at Tropicana(I am not) you can pay with your comp dollars. I took off a star because of the cluster layout, my only real problem with this place is I’m always afraid I’m going to break something.

Apparently A Time for Wine has three different locations– one in the Tropicana, one in Resorts and one in Caesars. My review is for the location at Caesars. While at first glance, the shop might appear like a hokey casino shop, but it’s worth going into. For starters, they have several refrigerator cases full of craft beer bottles. I believe the beers are sold on an individual basis, not by the 6-pack, but are reasonably priced. I’d pay $ 4 for a bottle of Stone IPA in a heartbeat in a bar. I know you can get free drinks by just by hanging out on the casino floor, but you can’t get yourself a quality craft beer there. I also thought the wine selection to be pretty interesting. They carry the Little Black Dress line from California. While this isn’t a fancy wine, I don’t see it carried too often. The pricing is a notch above the PA state stores. While that’s not the greatest pricing in the world, keep in mind where you are. You are going to pay at least double the price if you buy a bottle in a casino restaurant. It’s not the best of comparisons because you can’t BYOB in a casino restaurant, but you get my point overall. The associate at the time of my last visit rubbed me the wrong way though. As I stood there in awe admiring the craft beer selection, I complimented her on the variety. Rather than simply saying«thank you» she replied«not bad for a convenience store.» I thought that was a fairly snotty response although, it’s going to take more than that to dissuade my business. So before you embark on a journey to one of the somewhat sketchy, local AC liquor stores, keep in mind that you can still get access a decent selection of booze right from the convenience of your own hotel.

15% off purchase by checking in with Unilocal! While visiting AC this past weekend, it was suprisingly hard to find a Wine/Liquor shop in the immediate area. I got lucky and found this amazing little shop inside the Caesers Hotel & Casino resort. Affordable prices and excellent selection. The staff was friendly and attentive. I walked out a happy camper with some pre-game Chardonnay and Captain Morgan. Thumbs up! Please note there are two locations. I’m not sure if Unilocal list the one inside the Caesers hotel so we just asked a staff member and they directed us. It was very convenient not having to leave the area.

They don’t carry Bordeaux’s however their selection of Merlot’s were nice. Their prices are also very reasonable with lots of wines around the $ 10 mark.

During my recent trip to Atlantic City, I was in the mood for a cigar. In the mall at the base of our Havana Tower @ the Tropicana is this store. I went in and was surprised to see how large of a selection of wine they had. I’m a wine lover and was really pissed that I was on a business trip alone and not on a pleasure trip with my wife as we would have bought 3 or 4 bottles during the trip. When we go on trips, we have always wished we had a store like this in our hotel… and BAM! here’s one at the hotel I’m staying at for business! Anyway, I was able to find a nice cigar for a nightcap. Good times! I can’t wait to come back for vacation… I will definitely return.
