Poor service, poor food, poor pricing. Go elsewhere.

I was at the Metro Grill for a celebration of Haitian Independence Day. Metro Grill had rented out their establishment to the Consulate General of Haiti in Atlanta for the occasion. The event was beautiful. The Haitian cuisine was extraordinary.(I assume it was prepared by the Metro Grill.) The women were beautiful; the men handsome. The Consul General of Haiti gave a lovely speech. I took a photo and posted it with my check-in. Tonight I received an email from«Hansel» at Unilocal hq.(Really? Is that really your name?) Mr. Hansel informed me that they had removed my photo since it was not related to the Metro Grill. I assume this was the result of the proprietor complaining to Unilocal.Really? Metro Grill had rented their place to the Consulate General of Haiti and presumably made money on the rental. If you’re not proud of your clients, Mr. Metro Grill, you deserve one measly star. And one star for the Unilocal police. There’s no way to contact them to ask them to explain WTF they’re doing.

I got Bi Bim Bap. What I got was rice topped with a broken up hamburger on top, really, a crumbled burger that was old, and yes, in a condtion that should have never been sold to me. Funky, and stunky would best describe it. Then there was some steamed veg. These things were way too old to serve, RANCID even. It included spinach that tasted old, kind of fecal and mung sprouts that were were blue and also were inedible. the fact that they would box this up, and send me to eat it signifies that this place should be shut down. They also have ZERO internet presence. since they charged me 8 $ for it and sent me on my way with it, I am sure there is no point in calling to complain.

I went here for a late lunch and the service was friendly, but that was about it. It took a really long time even though there was hardly anyone in front of me. I ordered sushi, which seemed like it was going to be decent, but I wasn’t expecting it to be smothered in spicy mayonnaise at the end. I tried to stop him in time, but it was too late. I would know not to order that the next time I go, but I will not be going back. Even the sushi that wasn’t smothered in mayonnaise wasn’t appetizing.

I went to this place because I wanted a hamburger and saw they had them. I was surprised to see a salad bar, but after looking at all the ingredients, I decided against even trying it. The ingredients looked dried out, old, wilted and not very savory. The eggs looked like they had been sitting out all day. I ordered a cheeseburger and waited for a bit. The music was horrible — some pop stuff that I quickly ignored. The décor was basic diner — turquoise, pinks and black/white tables — it looked like something worn from the ‘80s. I ignored that, too. When the food was served, I took it and sat down — the burger looked inviting. But once biting into it I nearly felt sick. It tasted horrible — almost sour — and while it was a «cheeseburger» most of the«cheese» had melted away. Even the French fries were soggy and mushy. Don’t bother with this place. There are far too many restaurants around Georgia State University to go back to this one. I also thought, for the quality, the prices were way out of line. I spent nearly $ 9.00 for a cheeseburger, fries and soda from the machine. They claim to have free wi-fi but I could barely connect to anything and once I did, the signal was incredibly weak. Blech!

Walking distance from GSU campus. The food is decent and filling(for lunch) but extremely over priced. The service was so-so. The salad bar looked dry. I graduate from GSU in 3 months and always wanted to try this place– I was disappointed. Will not return

I don’t understand the good reviews for this place. The atmosphere is terrible — with jarring fuchsia and turquoise and the radio blasting«hit» songs that I’m pretty sure no one actually likes. I could get over the atmosphere very easily if there were any other redeeming qualities, but alas, there were none. I went around 1:00 pm on a weekday, and the hot food line had long been broken down. So I guess they only have the line available from 11(when they stop serving breakfast) to 12:30? Hardly conducive to keeping a lunch crowd. Also, there was no salad bar to be seen, contrary to what the other reviewers indicated. I ordered off their all-day menu. The selection was abysmal and the quality of the food matched. The service was a joke; there were 3 people in the place and they even admitted they’d totally forgotten about my order that was sitting on the grill, getting burned beyond edibility for 20 minutes. There was no offer to rectify the situation. Even the prices, considering you can get great food in this area for similar prices, isn’t a selling point. All together, I paid $ 9 for my inedible lunch with a brownie and soda(where all but two of the fountain sodas were ‘out of order’).

Friendly, great service with fresh food, great salad bar and sandwich/grill… I worked near by this place for a few weeks, it became a regular place for most of our crew. Need more places in this city like this one with salad bars!

I like this little place under the Hurt Plaza parking garage. They offer breakfast and lunch. Lunch is a small hot buffet with meat &2 vegs which is usually fresh and home cooked fare. Also offer made to order sandwiches, panini, grilled burgers, etc. Plus have a pretty decent salad bar. The meat &2 vegs plate comes with bread for $ 5.50 or add a drink for $ 6.25. This is a good deal, pretty reasonable for downtown. The burgers are great, come with those thick crinkle cut fries, lots of calories for about $ 7. The owner and his wife are very friendly and always remember a face once you’ve come by a few times. Accept major credit cards, $ 4 minimum. Good iced tea.

Located on a side street on GSU’s campus, Metro Grill is just as mediocre as its predecessor, Joel’s. When I entered this blast-from-the-past diner today, the tongue-pink walls, fuchsia cabinets and aqua trim evoked images of Max’s, the restaurant where Zack Morris and his followers often flocked. For a moment, I expected Kelly Kapowski to bounce from behind the swinging doors to take my order. But instead, the man behind the«deli-only» line chatted up the woman ahead of me, prattling on about the weather and impending snowstorm. Finally, someone else took my order. Tempted not the slightest by anything on the menu, I decided to go for the Atlantis Panini: tuna salad, chopped lettuce, diced tomato and cheese. The woman who fixed my sandwich cut it in half with an electric turkey carver. While watching her«carve» my panini, I glanced at the hot bar — grade school cafeteria-esque lasagna, vegetable medleys and other such victuals. The sandwich — charred and pressed between two pieces of pita bread — gave me a serious stomachache. I didn’t realize a tuna sandwich could be so difficult to get right. Next time, I’ll pack my own.
