I visit a friend in Astoria a few times a year and I’m always always excited to come to Brooklyn bagel! It’s SO delicious! I typically get jalapeño cream cheese and its sooooo perfect. They’re also NOT stingy with how much cream cheese they put on there. Probably the best bagels I’ve ever had!

My favorite bagel shop! I wish and I can eat bagels day and night! My favorite is sesame bagel w/scallion cream cheese; I also like lox cream cheese. The fresh orange juice and cappuccino are good too!

I came here for the first time this morning with my boyfriend and it was great. We did have to wait since the line was out the door but it was well worth it. I ordered an everything bagel toasted with bacon, egg and cheese. When my food came out, the bagel was huge! I will definitely be coming back again. Highly recommended.

Great little bagel job with an endless amount of spreads and variety of sandwiches and specials to choose from. Today I ordered a poppyseed bagel with egg and sausage. The bagel tasted extremely fresh. Not to mention every tuesday any size hot cocoa is only $ 1.00! Cant wait to try the lox and cream cheese next time

So glad this place is near home. Absolutely love the place, amazing spreads, great bagels. Love their original sandwiches, I always get the hungry man I think it’s called it has like every breakfast meat and a hash brown on it.(Im a fatty i know) there is always a line but the service is very fast. Great iced coffee and fresh squeezed oj. Best place for a hangover breakfast.

Though it may seem strange to patronize a Brooklyn named business in Queens, I am comforted in knowing this local chain sports some of the best bagels in the borough, let alone all of NYC. I’ve become quite familiar with this location over the years and I didn’t have to swallow my Queens pride to do it. Their bagels are worth every penny and every morsel. I had my first taste on Ditmars( ) and while that is still my favorite location, this is easily the most popular of the three in Astoria. Fun fact: Aside from having one Manhattan location( ), there are in fact no actual locations in Brooklyn. The irony is mind boggling. There is nothing I can write to adequately describe how wonderful these bagels are. They’re so soft, it’s like biting into a pillow. A delicious pillow.(#1) Yet, they’re dense enough to where every flavor is distinctively palatable and especially in the mornings, the freshest carbs one could ever love. There is no guilt upon the consumption, only a lingering for more. Then there are the spreads. Certainly one can wolf down a bagel sans spread, but the latter only magnifies the flavor trip. There are the usual suspects in the house: jelly, butter, PB, hummus, and even tofu spreads. There is cream cheese of course, but the flavored cream cheeses are the real winners: Apple Cinnamon Baby Dill Bacon Scallion Blueberry Cannoli Cinnamon Walnut Raisin Diavolo Chipotle Garlic & Herb Norwegian Salmon Lox Spread(!!!) Pimento /Kalamata Olive Scallion Strawberry Sundried Tomato Vegetable Be on the lookout for the flavor of the week. Recently there was sriracha honey bacon and I still yearn for it virtually every visit. Don’t sleep on the bagel sandwiches either, the Noguchi(avocado, tomato, smoked salmon + choice of cream cheese) is foodgasmic as it is filling. Life with one of those every morning would be worth living. There is a whole other side of the menu as well, which includes a myriad of breakfast combos(pancakes, challah french toast, omelets, oatmeals, and breakfast burritos/bagels), along with sandwiches /paninis, salads, and soups. They are all really solid, but the star of the show are the bagels. Expect to pay somewhere between $ 1.25-$ 7.00 per bagel depending on combo /type. Don’t be afraid to order by the dozen because what may be perceived as judgemental onlookers is really jealousy in bystander form. Plus the lines on the weekends + mornings would mean you need to get your bagel priorities straight, with just a tad bit of patience. You don’t even have to be hungry to appreciate the greatness of these bagels. Mark my words. ___________ (#1) See how crazy the bagels have made me?

I love their Bagel! They water-boil bagels in their store kettles and bake them right there. Really soft inside and crunchy outside! Once you know the taste of fresh bagel, you cannot go back to non-fresh bagel anymore!

I got the sesame bagel with half veggie cream cheese and half scallion and it was amazing. I will come back to try more bagels on my cheat days, maybe something with meat.

I’ve always passed by this place but never had the time to try it out until this morning. I love lox, so I already knew what to order. I got the everything bagel with lox, scallion cream cheese, red onions and tomatoes toasted. The everything bagel was too salty for me and I am a salty versus sweet type of person. Other than that I thought the bagel tasted great. It was huge so I ate one half for breakfast and the other for lunch. The texture remained nice and soft on the inside, outside crispy and not hard even after sitting out awhile. After reading the reviews I tried the freshly squeezed OJ. The machine was pretty cool. Tasted great. However I paid the most ever for a bagel, over $ 15 including drink. Won’t be ordering lox too often.

Once you eat quality bagels, you really can’t go back to grocery store bagels. The bagels have a nice bite to it and I can’t describe it, but they’re good. You have to trust me on that. I’ve only gotten the sesame bagels because they’re my favorite & I’ve toasted it both times. The regular sized bagels are huge, so I stuck with a mini bagel. I’m glad I did because the mini bagel was the perfect amount for me. I tried two different types of cream cheese: bacon scallion and vegetable. Out of the two, I prefer the vegetable. Bacon scallion cream cheese: I couldn’t really taste the bacon in the cream cheese. I think I was really excited to try this, but it didn’t really meet up to my expectations. It was an alright cream cheese. Vegetable cream cheese: It was super flavorful and I really enjoyed the pieces of vegetable in it. I definitely recommend it, it was such a delicious combo with my sesame bagel. I also think their ratio of cream cheese to bagel is pretty good, except for the fact that they also spread the cream cheese in the middle part of the bagel(where the hole is), but I just wipe the extra cream cheese off. I’ve also tried their coffee, which is $ 1 for any size on Tuesdays! The coffee is a bit too strong for me and they didn’t add enough milk, but that’s just a preference. But it’s a good deal if you want cheap coffee.

bagel soooo FRESH! Once you have their bagel, you can’t go back to other bagel places! There’s always a long line during weekend brunch time, but staff are efficient(and friendly), so no need to wait for more than 20 mins. However, seats are limited. You have to be lucky to get seats during rush hour. So not a good place for group, unless you wanna wait. They have plenty choices of bagels as well as spread with reasonable price. They also give you generous amount of spread! And everything I’ve tried so far were good. Tip: 1. You don’t need any fancy ingredients. Just a bagel and spread, it will taste like heaven! My favorite is Whole Wheat Bagel with Lox Spread(no toasted)! YUM~ 2. Register might get crazy during rush hours. Keep eye on your bagel and drinks. It will save you(and staff) some time. Coffee from Toby’s Estate is also tasty and fresh. It’s not only your everyday bagel place but also a show off bagel place. Bring you family or friends from other cities here to impress them with the real NY bagels! P. S. I feel the food and service at this location is better than the one on 30th ave.

Great bagels, fast service. What more could one want? The line is usually out the door, but don’t let that discourage you. The line moves quick, and you’re usually biting into the deliciousness within 5 – 10 minutes. The everything bagel is everything! Their choices of vegan cream cheeses are awesome! And they taste so good! Every time I’m in the area I make it my mission to stop by.

First time in New York so I had to try a New York bagel. This place was packed when I got here(on a Monday) so I knew it must be good! It’s a tiny shop and their specialty was cream cheese and bagels(obviously). The worker gave me a sample of something, it had dried berries and nuts. It tasted good but it’s not for me. I got an everything bagel, toasted with regular cream cheese. They put a ton of cream cheese on it! The bagel was covered from top to bottom in the everything mix they had. It was possibly the best bagel I’ve ever had. You know how some bagels can taste like dough and not bread-like, this one tasted like a real bagel should taste. And I also got some freshly pressed orange juice. That was sooooo good. The workers were nice and I got my order quick. I really wish I had something like this back in Texas!

Bagel places in NYC are a dime a dozen, never knowing what you’ll get. The majority are barely passable with round things that look like bagels but taste like cardboard. This is not one of those places. The bagels here are fresh, chewy and there is a great variety of different spreads to try. They also have a nice balance of classic bagels and spreads coupled with nouveau and cutting edge flavors. A great option for bagels in a really really crowded field.

Ever since I moved to Astoria this has been my number one go to bagel place. Fresh baked bagels and unique cream cheese flavors that are affordable 99 cent for mini and 1.10 or so for big bagels. I recommend getting the mini they are regular sized bagels while their regular are monstrous sized! My favorite cream cheese flavors are pumpkin, cannoli, vegetable, bacon scallion, chipotle, jalapeño, and SALTEDCARAMEL… It was a one time flavor of the week and I desperately need it back please oh please make it a regular! I always get the ¼ lb which is usually 2.50 or so and can be spread on to 3 or 4 bagels! Their sandwiches are delicious and you can add eggs or bacon or any other meat, cheese, or lox to it for a few extra dollars and also choose any bagel to go with it. My husband loves the hungry man which is loaded with potatoes, American cheese, eggs, and bacon with the sesame bagel. I love the clean slate which has oven roasted turkey, Swiss, spinach, and egg whites and the hell gate which has chipotle cream cheese, red onions, tomatoes, and 2 slices of bacon I like to add an egg to this sandwich with the mini whole wheat everything bagel. My 7 year old nephew asks to go here every time he visits and so do all my friends. I even get requests from coworkers that ask me to get ¼ lb of the cream cheese for them:) definitely a tough bagel spot to beat!

Brooklyn Bagel overall is SO delicious. Their bagels are perfectly done. As advised, through reading many Unilocal reviews, the first time I went, to the one in Chelsea, I decided to get the Bacon Scallion cream cheese on a wheat bagel and it was DELICIOUS! Surprisingly filling and the perfect amount of cream cheese. This was my second visit to Brooklyn Bagel, the first to this location. I went on a Monday mid-morning and it was still pretty busy. I liked that the line wasn’t too* long and there was enough space to grab a table an enjoy my bagel and coffee. This location seems really great and super convenient if you’re around the area in Astoria. This time I tried just the normal ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich on a plain bagel and it was also DELICIOUS! Overall I’m very impressed that both locations I had roughly the same, great, experience and the food was just as good at both locations! I’d definitely recommend this place to a friend — I actually already have. ;) (Also, I got muffins at both locations and their muffins were AMAZING too! They’re huge but they’re so good so think about adding it to your order to top off the great bagels.)

If you’re a true blue New Yorker, you know that a bagel is the way to start your day. Brooklyn Bagel churns out tons of fresh bagels daily that have the perfect texture and consistency you’d want in a bagel. Add to that the slew of cream cheeses they have(tofu ones too if you’re vegan), or the sandwiches you can order(Hungry Man, or BEC, please!) and you’re in on-the-go-breakfast-Heaven. The only advice I’d give is not to go closer to their closing time, because by then most of the bagels will have been bought out.

I kept walking by this bagel shop when I would eat in Astoria. I decided to come by during Halloween weekend and the bagels were superb. I liked the hand rolled bagel and the taste was delicious. The size reminded me of Essa bagel and the taste reminded me a bit of Montréal bagels. I had a toasted everything bagel with scallion cream cheese. Beware, they load up the cream cheese. If that is not your thing they will gladly remove some of the cream cheese.

Oh Brooklyn Bagel Company… this is gonna be a longish review so hold on to your seats(or your smartypants smartphone!). I’ve been to at least 3 different locations(pretty sure one of the other ones in Astoria, definitely the one in Chelsea [aka my old hood] and this one in Astoria on Broadway) but this one absolutely blows the other ones out of the water! Funny how the first time I came here I got a regular breakfast sandwich, but each time I’ve come back here I’ve walked(kidding, I’m either skipping or eating it on site) out with a delicious hand-rolled, boiled and baked bagel. Too bad that bagels are so bad for you because these taste SODAMNGOOD. They’re seriously the best bagels I’ve ever had in my life(outside of a square-shaped spinach bagel I once had by my hotel in Berlin) and the variety in sweet and savory spreads in amazing. Bagel spreads I’ve had here include regular cream cheese, tofu spread, bacon & scallion cream cheese, garlic & dill cream cheese and their white fish spread. All of them are fantastic but my fave thing ever is asking them to mix the bacon/scallion and garlic/dill cream cheeses together, SOMUCHFLAVOR. Totally wakes me up in the morning, haha! Their egg salad on an Everything Bagel with hot sauce(as a dup) is also SO freakin’ delicious. MAN. Service here is great and prices could be better because a bagel and an iced coffee can run you $ 9 – 10 depending on what spread you order — but it’s totally worth it because anything that this Brooklyn Bagel Company churns out is going to be quality. 5 stars and no less.
