Their salads, steaks and wings are awesome. Some of these best I’ve ever had at any restaurant! Service is great I highly recommend!

A friend and I ate here on a weekday for lunch. The décor, seating, and atmosphere were all very good, so we found it easy to get comfortable and enjoy the meal. We both started with the she-crab soup, which was fresh and savory. It was nice knowing that we weren’t eating something that was re-heated or taken from a can. I ordered Cousin Yeti’s Loaded Chopped Steak, which(despite its name) was quite delicious. It came with a serving of Copper River’s signature mashed potatoes, which were quite flavorful and garlicky. My friend ordered the Slow-Roasted Prime Rib, which he said was outstanding. In fact, it was probably the best prime rib he’s ever had at a restaurant. Copper River gets our shining endorsement.

Good food. I wouldn’t recommend Po Boy Sandwiches but others are all good and salads were good. Very cool ambience.

Just finished dinner at Copper River and Im disappointed. It started with a rude hostess. She wanted to seat us by the front door that was continuously opening and bringing in cold air. When we asked to be seated somewhere else she very loudly told the other hostess«they don’t want to sit here». After she seated us we could see her dramatically acting out what had happened. My prime rib was tasteless and tough. My wife’s steak had no flavor and was not cooked even remotely correct. Her baked potato was ice cold. The salad was pretty good. I had to ask for clean silverware as mine was dirty wrapped in my dinner napkin. I was just glad to get out of the place and won’t return.

Pretty décor, nice service, but the food was utterly bland, generic corporate fare. I selected three items for lunch, grilled cheese, sweet potato something, and Cesar salad. A properly prepared grill cheese can pop, but this congealed sandwich had no flavor or personality. The sweet potato tasted and felt like it came out of a can. The salad arrived on a cold plate; clearly it had been prepped earlier and then delivered straight out of the fridge. It might have been better at room temperature, but cold tends to rob food of its flavor. The highlight of the salad was the crescent roll with some sweet drizzle on it. I’m usually clean my plate at restaurants, but I lost interest in this food half way through. My brother and wife had a similar experience. My mother enjoyed her meal.

The food was outstanding. I had the fire shrimp and mac. Portion was huge. Got a house salad that was amazing. Went with a group of people that ordered pizza burgers samon. All people were more than satisfded. Had been to several resturants in the area this was by far the best. Will be back the next time I’m in town

I have been here twice. The first time was because it was the only dine in restaurant that was open. I had a burger which was good, but nothing special. My second experience was disappointing. Our server was socially awkward and lacked a few customer service skills. When I first read over the menu I appreciated the large selection and was intrigued by a few options. I ended up getting a spinach pizza that had wayyyyy to much cheese on it. Don’t get me wrong I love cheese, but this was so much it was hard to eat. The lack of local beer options was also disappointing. There are just so many options for great food in Asheville… This just really isn’t one of them

This place is delightful and delicious. The atmosphere is great and the food is well prepared and tasty. We always get the New York Special. The meat is always cooked to perfection, the salad is chopped into manageable pieces and the croissants are divine. Anytime we can eat at this establishment, it is a treat. The staff is very honest too. We accidentally left an extra $ 20 in payment to the bartender/server. She followed us outside and returned out money. That is nice in this day and age! We will be back as much as possible.

Salmon salad is so refreshing. Never had a bad meal there. Servers could use advice to not chit chat near customers. Happens every time we go. If food wasn’t so good we would stop going. Management needs to walk around more and address this. Bravo on atmosphere… menu and the cooking.

This place is one of my favorite places to go. I used to avoid this place like the plague because I, too, thought it was another Applebee’s. And I hate Applebee’s! So, I did go under duress. I’m so glad I did. Generally, I hate salads. Completely. But my meal came with one so I felt obligated. I begrudgingly got the house salad, because after all, I paid for it. I thought my wife could have it for leftovers. I’m so glad my wife wasn’t counting on that for lunch. Now, I basically just go for the house salad. That house salad should be illegal, in fact, I think it is in most states. Glad this isn’t one of them. I think from now on I’ll be getting just one large house salad. My entre was and typically is the firecracker Mac and cheese. It’s just fantastic. It comes with spicy fried shrimp. I can never finish it because that Damn salad always gets in the way! Lastly, I do get the desert. I get the apple cobbler something and it’s fantastic. Lastly, the service is always good. Very polite waitress and food comes out in a timely manner. I’m a regular and plan on continuing to be so.

Love this place! The décor is really awesome. When you enter, you are above ground and as you are seated you walk down a few stairs into an enclosed comfortable space, surrounded by copper(or some sort of metal), a cool experience. My favorite thing on their menu is actually their Club sandwich. Some serious TLC in that sandwich. Fries, yum, loaded mashed potatoes, yum. Sandwiches, salads, cocktails, appetizers, yum yum yum.

I had to take my mom here for Mother’s Day. Fortunately she still can find it in my heart to love me as her son but in the future I will definitely do more research to make sure the good restaurants are open before driving to this area. I ordered an «Italian grinder» which was an Italian sub with spaghetti sauce on it. They also opened a can of chopped black olives and appeared to just dump the olives in the middle of the sandwich juice and all. I know this because I don’t care for olives and took them off, but the olive juice permeated the entire sandwich. Mmmmmm canned olives that’s why you go to a restaurant instead of eating at home! I sent the sandwich back as it was pretty much inedible and they did replace it with an entirely different sandwich(a club) which was about on par with an Applebee’s or similar place as far as taste. My mom got a wrap which came out by itself on a plate. They really need someone that can tell them how to make food look good when it comes out as everything really just looked like crap. I am amazed this place is still open, stay away. Stay very far away.

Three stars seems really low for a place that, to me, was actually pretty surprisingly good. It’s one of those places that just *looks* like a chain when you drive by(mostly because it is), so I’ve never really felt driven to go in. But, a couple of people have recommended it, we were down that direction anyway, so we figured why not. Genuinely pretty impressed. The she-crab soup and house salad I got were both delicious, and came with this really good croissant with some kind of glaze on it. I have gotten free bread at many a restaurant, but I think this is literally the first time I’ve been presented with croissants. Nice treat. Others at my table got salmon, a pizza, and some kind of wrap, all met with good reviews. I won’t go as far as 5, because the place is definitely solid, but not something that really stands out in your mind. Kind of like a much nicer Applebee’s that I would go to before I’d ever step foot in Applebee’s.

All I can say is be hungry when you go. The food and service are excellent, and the portions are large enough for any appetite. The prices are reasonable for the quality and the amount of food you receive, I tried it once and had to go back.

We had a great experience at the Copper River Grill. I was very surprised by the bad reviews here. The restaurant itself is warm, inviting, clean, nice seating and atmosphere. The hostess was very friendly. The food was very tasty. I ordered the Hickory Fired Salmon with ½ Fries & ½ Reds and the Caesar Salad. The salmon was cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned as were the fries and onions. Our entrees arrived right after I finished my salad. We both enjoyed our meals. The portions are large so we did not have room for dessert. Our server, Lauren, is a huge asset to this place. She was absolutely wonderful. She made sure we had everything we needed, kept our drinks full, helped with questions about the menu and was genuinely intent on making sure we were enjoying our meal. Yes, it’s a chain and there are a ton of great places to try when in Asheville but this place is worth checking out. They are open 7 days a week and later than a lot of places so that is a bonus. We will go back and would recommend giving it a try.

My family and I had dinner here on a Friday night. The restaurant was practically empty(maybe 5 other families). This did help keep the noise down — as referenced by other patrons, and parking was not an issue. One would think that this would result in quicker service and fewer order errors. Well, One would have been mistaken. It started off fine. We were seated immediately and our server was pleasant. She took our order and was quick to return with our drinks. My daughter irdered a 10 ounce sirloin cooked medium with a baked sweet potato. My husband ordered a burger –also cooked medium, and I ordered the Kodiak Chicken with loaded mashed potatoes and a salad. It probably took 30 minutes before our food arrived, but we were enjoying the conversation and we were not in a hurry. Drinks were slow to be refilled which was odd given how slow the restaurant was. Finally the food arrived. My daughter’s steak was served on a plate by itself because they forgot her sweet potato. No big deal –our server was off to bring one post haste. While she was gone… my daughter attempted to cut her steak. She was unsuccessful. My husband took her plate to help her and was baffled by what was on her plate. It was a non-descript piece of meat that had been folded in half. The outside had been charred, and when he unfolded it(never had to say that when talking about a steak) it was maybe ¼ «thick and tough as leather. My husband is a butcher, and even he wasnt sure what cut of meat this was… but it sure wasnt a sirloin! Our server took it back with her apologies and brought back my daughter’s sweet potato. The replacement steak is served, and actually looks like a sirloin! But… its rare. Not a little pink, or «on the rare side» but blood rare — one moo away from jumping off the plate and running back to the farm. and they brought another sweet potato. Well the third time must really be the charm because steak #3 was correct… with another sweet potato. The other entrees were fine… nothing stellar and nothing we would make a return visit for, but they were ok. We received the token apology from the manager who removed the steak from our bill. The rest of our dining experience was pretty uneventful. The restaurant was clean, our server was pleasant, the portions were huge(the 3 of us could have shared one entrée), but we are still trying to figure out the true origin of «steak #1.» My daughter thinks it was ironic that this restaurant shares its sign with the animal hospital.

Had lunch here with friends. We all had something different. I had the chicken & almond wrap, it was very good. Buger was huge and also very good. Prime rib sandwich & pizza were great as well. Nice atmosphere, excellent wait staff made the meal that much better. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Remember everyone, Unilocal exists for a reason: make the time to check out reviews before walking through any doors. The Hublet and I decided to get away from Jacksonville FL for the Memorial weekend and, after a Friday night in Charleston SC to spend a short bit of quality time with the in-laws, we grabbed a late Saturday breakfast with them and hit the road. After about 4 hours of driving to Asheville NC and, after checking into our chalet and unloading the car, we drove around the area to gather our bearings and get a feel for the place. My stomach eventually loudly growled to inform everyone that it wasn’t happy, and we suddenly realised that it was long past 9pm and we needed to eat as nothing had passed our lips since breakfast that morning. We had driven past the Copper River Grill on our way to check out Biltmore village, so on our way back we decided to try it based on nothing more than the brightly coloured sign and promise of traditional American cuisine. We were thankful that they were still open(Sun to Thurs 11am-10pm and Fri and Sat 11am-11pm) and were seated in a booth. The place was virtually empty, however we could easily ascribe this to it being quite late in the day. Because of the time and our energy levels we didn’t want to eat too much, so my nacho fiend Hublet ordered Asian Fried Shrimp Nachos(hot pepper teriyaki sauce, scallions, lettuce, cheese and shrimp) from the Alaskan Nachos menu and, even though I rarely, once-in-a-blue-moon am in the mood for pizza, the planets had clearly aligned as I ordered the Spicy Cajun Shrimp pizza(12 Cajun-fried shrimp with lobster bisque, mozzarella, tomatoes and red onions) from their Stone Fired Pizza menu. I was also feeling a little saucy and so ordered a Downtown Anchorage Martini for giggles. I cannot tell you how bland and boring the food was. Not even a flood of Tabasco could bring it to life. The positives were that it arrived hot and fresh. The Hublet’s nachos were just sad to look at: plain nacho chips coated in a blizzard of lettuce and a light drizzle of sauce with a few shrimp lurking around, however the cheese/sauce appeared to have been poured onto the plate before the nachos were added, resulting in a dry mass of lettuce-covered nachos sitting on a boring queso/cheese sauce. My pizza perfectly met the menu description, but the lobster bisque wasn’t strong enough to raise itself above the blandness of the mozzarella and the Cajun-coated shrimp were the only spiced item on my plate and just weren’t plentiful enough to impart any great flavour to the pizza. Service was fairly quick, our server was polite and happy and my cocktail was nicely boozed up and, as someone who likes my drink sweet and strong, it hit the right note. Our server seemed sympathetic to our unwillingness to finish our food and quickly brought out a To Go box when requested, although we left the nacho remnants behind and only took the pizza with us. I’m sure that Copper River Grill has some great items on its menu and some standalone options that it’s famous for, however the boring, unimaginative quality of the items we tried means I won’t be venturing back in a hurry to hunt down these elusive dishes.

I don’t know why all the negative reviews! I thought it was good food, the place seemed really clean and neat atmosphere. The waiter did good serving us as well.
