Nick’s is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. They have made me love greek food. I’ve gone out of my way to try other greek restaurants in nova and Nick’s is the best. Their gyro has more meat, less filler, and their soups and hummus are out of this world. I’m a great cook and my chicken lemon soup and hummus never come close to theirs. I love this place.

Ate free hummus and enjoyed it. Had a gyro and meze platter and both were pretty good. The Spanikopita was under-seasoned. We had Baklava and warmed Greek farina pastry. The host was serving us till the late to arrive waiter showed up. He dropped the check just after delivering our desserts?

Took a friend there last night who had never been(we usually go to Blue Ridge Grill in the same complex). It was freezing and it was so nice to see a warm fire going in the fireplace. I admit we had to wait a long time for someone to come to our table, and had to go find him ourselves, but from that point it was all up hill… in the end we had a lovely meal and a great evening. We got food very fast(it’s always good) and sat and enjoying the atmosphere with no pressure whatsoever to order more or leave so they could have our table(which is not always how you are treated). My friend, said«thanks for suggesting this, it was wonderful!»

Great food and good service. Had the Greek burger. It was awesome! The gyro platter and the salmon plattter was delicious. If you go at 8:30, there might be live music on Saturdays. For dessert we had Galaktoboureko. You should really try it!

Wonderful restaurant! I love that they seat you quickly and immediately bring out some authentic hummus and pita chips prior to ordering. They treat you like family here and the food is both delicious and authentic. The pita chips are very unique… nothing you can buy anywhere. I LOVE the saganaki hot appetizer… it’s fried cheese fresh from the skillet with some lemon juice and it’s crazy delicious… so it’s a MUSTTRY for cheese lovers. The Meze Appetizer Sampler is a good starter too if you like the variety like we do! Also try their gyros and mixed grill if you love sampling different meats. Squeeze some fresh lime and lemon on the meats and/or try it with their yogurt and tzatziki sauces and you will be very happy. My husband ordered the Mediterranean Sampler which was also delicious. Brought family in from Richmond here when they came to visit and they loved it as well! My brother-in-law let me try some of the Pastitsio and it was great especially if you love lasagna like I do… Evi the owner is very sweet… great experience overall and we will continue coming back!

The food was ok, but the server was TERRIBLE. We waited 30mins for our second beer and the food took over an hr to come out. The restaurant wasn’t even busy! He must have forgotten bc our take home order came 10 mins after we placed it. We asked to charge one credit card for $ 35.00 and paid the rest in cash. I now have an $ 88.00 charge on my credit card along with the $ 35.00 charge. I have to go up and have the manager fix this. Such a pain. The waiter was clueless. So sad since this is a cool looking sports bar in an area where there aren’t many options.

Nick your a hot pick… I was not really craving Greek cuisine while visiting family in VA. It was the cold weather or I was lazy, I’m not sure what it was but when my family mentioned Nick’s Taverna and I said meh ok whatever you guys want. Well, I’m glad my family wanted to take me here because everything was impeccable. A. Our server Ryan was great, he explained everything in detail, refilled drinks promptly and explained what could and couldn’t be modified since my sister is a picky eater… B. The complimentary hummus was very popular amongst my family. My mom hates hummus but she couldn’t stop eating it. It was very addicting and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly. C. So my hubby got the mixed platter with many different kinds of meat cooked to perfection. Of Course, I tried his platter, more than tried but only to make sure it was good for him… My chicken wrap was nicely marinated and not overly saucey to make it soggy. D. Best part I got free dessert(chocolate cake) with checking into Unilocal. We were stuffed but this really could not be missed. A.B.C.D. Yes you can pick all of the above to make Nick’s Taverna you dinner pick. They are open late, I believe 12 or 1 am some nights. Happy Eating.~

Amazing hummus. All the food tasted so fresh! We will definitely be back. This is the best Greek I have had since being in Athens. I have passed this restaurant for awhile so glad we stopped in.

They have good food. I love that you get free hummus and pita chips for appetizer. They have live music but we have not stay long enough to listen. We usually leave before they start singing. Salad is very good and service is quick. Waiter is nice too. I don’t know about their deserts since we haven’t order any. Overall a nice place to eat. Lots of food on plate.

Yummy gyro and chicken souvlaki. Great fresh food. Wayyyy slowww cash register system. Waited 15 mins to pick up takeout because Nicks apparently still uses the worlds oldest working cash register.

Spacious, clean looking, high ceiling, consistent polite and warm(just enough, not pushy) service with a traditional Greek menu make for a fine dining experience. We’ve dined here at least 5 or 6 times in the past year and were always satisfied with the quality of the food and the pleasant ambience. We always come at off peak hours so not sure how they handle crowds but certainly recommend considering them as an excellent choice for dinner: very good value for money.

The food is great, but too bad the service is mediocre. Our table didn’t have napkins or utensils, the waiter took a while to refill our water glasses and waited a while to take away our plates. There was also a rowdy group of about 8 people right next to us. I suggest if people want to get hammered, go to the bar. I could barely hear anything over all of the hollering. I expected the atmosphere to be more romantic.

This is our Friday night go to! Its perfect if you are looking for a casual restaurant where you can get some awesome Mediterranean food. If you go definitely try the Mediterranean sampler(it’s enough for two!). They make the food from scratch on a daily basis, and the quality is definitely apparent. PS– Romeo is the man! Top notch bartender with unbelievable customer service.

This is a really cool place tucked away in my home turf of Brambleton! I can’t believe lived here a couple years and only now came to appreciate it. It looks like a sports bar when you peer in, and it is. Big bar, lots of TVs, and open late. The people that work here are all really awesome. But, much more lies beneath the surface. It has a rather large dining room, complete with fireplace, very nice tables, kind of a romantic atmosphere. Not too crowded, you get your space. Now for the best part – the menu! Kind of a mediterranean style core offering that I had no idea was available at a place I can walk to. Kabobs, Gyros, and meat offerings like shawarma that are out of this world. Amazing Pita bread. Amazing salads. Really good fries. Best of all – the best tzatziki I’ve ever had. Sadly, they don’t quite give you enough, and charge for extra, but it’s just amazing. My recommendation: if you are hungry, go try the gyro platter, comes with salad, fries, and tzatziki. If even hungrier, try the mediterranean sampler, you get a huge plate of food(gyro, kafta, and chicken souvlaki). And you can get food if you are hungry late, for which there is almost no other good option in the ‘burbs. So happy to have discovered Nicks!

Heard about Nick’s from a friend who heard about it from a friend who has a greek background. Isn’t that the best recommendation? Thank goodness for the gps because it’s not exactly in our«neighborhood» but it was worth the 25 minute drive out of our way. Atmosphere was casual and family friendly. I can see that later in the evening it could ramp up to a more adult, drinking environment. There is a bar separate from the dining room so you can check the sports scores if you want but not feel like you are in a bar. Stage and a fireplace in the dining area definitely gave me the feel that fun can happen in there at the right time! Anxious to try a few things we over ordered! We started with an order of spanikopita and an appetizer order of falafel. Both were very good. Neither came out really hot — but we could overlook that. The tahini sauce that came with the falafel was very good. Both plates were garnished with some pickled radish which was also very tasty. Looking forward to dinner we saved some of each appetizer to take home! Although the dining room was not full, our waiter could have been a bit more attentive and our entrees seem to have taken a while to come out. When it did come out — it was very good — again not super hot. I had the Mousaka. Authentic and tasty served with traditional green greens in a tomato sauce. My husband had the Gyro platter. Served with open face over pita squares with fries and some salad on the side. While the gyro meat was well worth it — the fries left a bit to be desired. The Tzaziki sauce was nice and thick and really good. We will be back with friends and look forward to trying some other things on the menu. We’ll probably pass on the fries and we hope the food comes out a little hotter.

Wow, this place is so pretty inside! It’s hidden in the corner, so I never knew it was there until I searched for Greek food on Unilocal. We stopped in for lunch and there was only one other seated table. Our meal came with complimentary hummus and pita chips. We ordered the Chicken Souvlaki Pita Wrap, the Mixed Grill, and the Greek Burger. My teenage son was confused about how to eat his burger since it came on a slice of pita bread instead of hamburger buns, but he managed just fine. He finished the whole plate. The Baklava was AMAZING. The prices were very reasonable and the food was delicious. We felt a little underdressed because of how nice it was inside. Our server was excellent! We will definitely be back.

Been there two times. First time we came for an early pre-movie lunch. The schwarma wraps we got were on the *dry* side of the moistness scale, but I recall them at least being generous with the fries. Hummus was excellent and the star of the show — they serve it every meal with crispy fried pita chips. Very good. *3-star experience* Second time back, different story. This time we came for a post-movie dinner, and the food was excellent. Le gf and I shared the appetizer sampler and the mixed grill dinner. Both were tasty; and after dinner we exchanged nods signifying we were happy with our decision. The hummus pregame was excellent once again — I really like their hummus, best I’ve had I think. The appetizer sampler was decent, the Spankopita was very flaky and hot — probably the best spankopita I’ve had(but I’ve only had it a couple times ever, so probably not the best judge). We both really liked the baba ghanouj, it had a little bit of a smokey flavor. The falafel and dolmades were just okay to me… falafel was a little dry — but again, I’m no expert on falafel so I’m not sure how its supposed to be. …and there was more of that hummus. Did I mention I’m diggin’ on that hummus? Also, I have to mention that the pita bread was very very good. It was moist and spongy, really great texture and tasted very good — I wonder if they make it in house. The meat on the mixed grill was moist and cooked to order perfectly. The steak on it was so tender you could almost cut it with a fork. Juicy and a perfect medium. The chicken and the ground beef patty were no slouches either, moist and fork tender with a tasty, but not overpowering seasoning blend. That being said, the steak was the star here. I didn’t look at the menu all the way through, but if they have an option for just the steak, I would get that next time… really good. The waiter Dominik was friendly, did a great job, kept our water filled, and lit us a candle and to «set the mood». Will definitely come back again some day when we are checking out a movie at the adjacent Brambleton movie theater. So 5 stars for our second visit, minus a star for the pretty dry meat we got the first time in our wrap. If they can keep the meat moist, I’ll probably justify that 5th star… but if it’s dry again next time… well, lets just hope its not! :) Thanks for a great dinner, Nick’s! *apologies for any misspellings of the food items, those Mediterranean dishes are hard to spell!
