I can confirm THISLOCATIONHASCLOSED. We went a few days ago for lunch and there was a note explaining the strip mall had been foreclosed on and everyone was being forced out. Very sad. This place had good kabobs, great hummus, great rice and a full bar. Not a bad way to spend a long lunch.

Say it isn’t so — heard a rumor today that everything in the Ashburn Restaurant Park is having to close due to foreclosure of the structure… I will be so sad because I love Sorrento Grill. We mostly go for lunch and I love the shrimp wrap w/the spicy option — the side salad that comes on the plate is equally delicious. Their pita bread, rice, etc is all good and everything we’ve ever ordered has been fresh & delicious. The ONLY drawback is the slow service — they get busy and we often have to track down our own check… But if it is closing I am happy to read I can get the same food at the Herndon location which I didn’t realize existed even though I worked over near there for quite some time. If it still exists in Ashburn, I highly recommend it! If not, check them out in Herndon.

Let’s start by saying that the atmosphere here is really nice. Very pretty ambiance. Beautiful bar area! Second, the food is delicious. Their cucumber dipping sauce is dead on, one of the best in the area. The kabobs are fantastic and the saffron rice is amazing. This is a fantastic place to come for an office lunch, a hot date or just time with the family. The service is usually slow, but I get over it because the food is so great. I have eaten here too many times to count and I have NEVER had anything bad here. 5 stars all the way!

Love this place for lunch when out near the office. Great for friends, family, clients. Great Kabobs and lunch specials. I love their flat bread and cucumber yogurt sauce. I wish I knew how to make their rice. On nice days, the outdoor seating is very nice. Service is hit and miss. Don’t expect much coming in and you’ll be alright. (Please don’t complain about Ashburn strip-malls until you visit the dumps we call strip malls inside the beltway.) This is in an upscale«strip-mall» with nice outdoor seating and a fountain.

I’m a fan of the salmon kabob which comes with either pita bread or rice. The two times I’ve been, I’ve opted for the saffron basmati rice which has a lasting fragrance leaving me in a lovely, dreamy state for the afternoon post-lunch. I’m sure I enjoyed the stuffed grape leaves, red pepper hummus, and grilled shrimp with cocktail sauce but it’s the memory of their delicately seasoned salmon and fluffy rice that sends me into a reverie. The inside of the Ashburn location is much nicer than the Herndon location but my last visit to the Herndon branch was almost 2 years ago. The Ashburn location boasts a fountain. As pretty as it is inside, definitely take advantage of the outdoor seating under patio umbrellas(just say no to sun damage!) on nice days.

The food here is decent, and moderately priced. I love the shrimp wrap that they have at lunchtime and their beef kabob is okay. Their service is absolutely abominable during lunchtime. They have two or three servers for the whole restaurant and they are some of the most unfriendly ladies you will ever encounter. If their hummus wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth, there would be absolutely no reason to come here.

I’m thrilled that Sorrento has opened a second and much nicer location right around the corner from where I work. This place, despite its strip-mall location(and what in Ashburn isn’t in a strip-mall?), is fancy enough for a casual date and casual enough for a quick lunch. I’d also note that they have provided lunch for meetings we’ve had at work and always, always get kudos from the attendees(now if we could just get them to deliver). Don’t miss the roasted red pepper hummus. It is the best!

Comes a close second to Reston Kabob in my book. A slightly more upscale version of the Sorrento Grill in Clocktower Herndon, the deep booths definitely give it a more formal restaurant feel to it with all the casualness of a sports bar’s widescreen TVs. The flat bread is good when it comes out piping hot with the cucumber yogurt sauce, and both the lamb and beef kabobs are great with the delicately charred kabob vegetables and rice. It’s good to get treated to lunch by coworkers, haha; not worth the extra drive to me when RK and the other SG is closer to home. I’ve idled by the bar for takeout as well. Sad that everything but Moe’s and Five Guys has been cleared out of this complex.
