Still a solid 4 stars in my book! We stopped in last night after finding no room to stand at Fish — and it wasn’t much better at Cibo. Don’t know what was happening in Asbury last night but the entire town was hopping. After scoring the last seats at the bar we decided on an appetizer dinner and were not disappointed. they just introduced a new appetizer menu and we had the Mac & Cheese(not lobster mac like fish but a cheesy offering that was quite tasty), Chicken wings, Meatball sliders and Eggplant Parmesan. everything was served piping hot and the portions were very good for a $ 6 price point. In fact, our meal came to $ 42 for the apps, a glass of wine and a couple of good beers(Kane and Carton). Good service at the bar but one of the bartenders seemed to be a little stressed by the crush at the bar. All in all another good experience at Cibo.

Exceptional food. I was very pleased with every single thing we ordered. Quality service. Drink/wine menu is decent as well. The tapas style allows you to order many things for the table. The plates are small, and a little pricey so be prepared to spend a pretty penny or eat a little light. It wasn’t outrageous, but was a little high. That said the food was so extraordinary. They offer almost the full menu with gluten free options as well. This was great. I’d definitely go back.

Last night we went to Cibo e Vino not knowing anything about them. The restaurant is very attractive, it reminded both of us of a restaurant that you’d find in Manhattan. We started out sitting at the bar where my wife had wine and I had a well made Margarita, not too sweet, excellent taste. It was happy hour when we arrived so we also tried their chicken wings. They are not your usual wings, more of a light lemony taste and delicious. From there we moved to a table where she ordered the Organic Salad and enjoyed it. I had the Cesar Salad, on our next visit I’d skip it, there was nothing special about the salad at all. I love Cesar dressing and this, for me, was too meek, too mild. And I asked that if they have anchovies that I’d like some on my salad, I was told that they didn’t have any to put on but their dressing is made with anchovies, well if so I couldn’t taste them. We decided to split a pizza and added sausage to it. My wife likes thin crust pizza, me I’m not a fan. While the pizza wasn’t bad neither it nor the sausage had any umpf to them. There is something about this restaurant that we both enjoyed and that was the atmosphere, I wouldn’t bring anyone here bragging about the food but I would bring someone here if we wanted to go out to have a few drinks and appetizers and have a good time.

We went to Cibo on a Wednesday night. It was late on we were quite hungry. We have been here many times and always have enjoyed the food and I love experimenting with the wine flights. The staff is eager to please and truly wants you to enjoy the food and the restaurant! This night tho, the restaurant was starting a new option, prix fixe for $ 25. It includes an appetizer, a salad, an entrée and desert. Now usually I am not a fan of propped up menus but they had such a variety of options on the menu, I couldn’t pass it up. The meal comes with a generous antipasti(salami, prosciutto, cheese, olives, peppers). Simple by oooo so wonderful. We both had the Caesar salad. Pretty good though it could use a lighter touch on the dressing. I had the chicken marsala entrée which was wonderful and Yvonne had the Bronzino(fish). Desert was Tiramisu for me and a sorbetto for her. So… if you are in Asbury Park and you are hungry and you want to dine in style but not kill your wallet… this new addition to their menu is your ticket to italian gourmet heaven!

I like this place. The concept is fun, food is tasty on a good day and OK on a bad day, and service is pleasant. I don’t yearn to go back here but I enjoyed my two visits so far.

Wow! We were really surprised with Cibo this past weekend. When it first opened, many people we knew gave it mixed reviews and it just never looked busy. Well, that has definitely changed. The restaurant was full and the atmosphere was great. We got some of the specialty cocktails and their gin spritz with Aperol was just like some of the refreshing cocktails we had in Italy. Our server, Alexis, was very upbeat and guided us through the menu and made some great recommendations. The restaurant is all small plates/Italian tapas and this was perfect for our group. We each picked one thing from the appetizers and shared and then did the same for entrees and desserts. Some of the highlights of the appetizers were a fennel and sausage dish which we ate over bread that was really rich and delicious. The escarole and bean sauté was great and the rice balls with peas which my father loved. For entrees, we had the proscuitto wrapped monkfish which was okay, but a little salty and a bit overcooked. We also had a sweet and sour pork which was the downfall of the food that evening. It was overly sweet and did not fit the rest of the menu at all. Desserts were great and we really enjoyed the zepola with banana sauce. So fun, they literally come in a bag to shake with the sugar!

Calamari was crispy and delicious. Sausages, peppers, and onion was tasty. Bruschetta was cold and not much floor, the same goes for the meatballs. Nice place and friendly staff.

Our party of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our evening here. Great service! We had a ton of dishes that probably encompassed about ½ the menu. Ok so the rice balls were a little dry and the pasta in clam sauce was kind of tasteless but everything else was great; salads, meat and cheese plates, bruschetta, eggplant parm, meats, fish etc. Like I said we ordered a lot. Oh yeah, the desserts were also excellent. I look forward to a return visit in the fall.

Tapas style place. The arancini balls were served as 2 tiny pieces gone within seconds. More of an arancini bite. The rosemary lemon chicken wings were delicious and you can’t beat a gin martini or a strong Margarita for $ 6. Happy hour on Sundays as well.

Happy hour appetizers were great, esp. the eggplant parm. Happy hour cocktails were nice. Entrees were very tasty. And we love that portions were small; our waistelines and wallets have had enough of the Carmine’s Effect. And this is the solution!

Had dinner here Friday 8÷114÷15. The prices were reasonable, and although the waiter stated that portions were smallish and tapas style– still there were enough for the five of us to sample each. 1-Calamari– crispy, came with regular marinara and this delicious spicy purée/salsa type sauce, loved it– 2-Mushroom pizza– topping was good, but crust– Bad– too hard we ate topping and discarded dough part. 3-Broccoli Rabe– my nephew said was too bitter, but i still liked it, topped with parmesan and a «nice» small portion. 4-steamed clams– 6 was tasty in white wine garlicky sauce– good to sop bread with: their big rustic bread was crusty and tender on the inside. 5-cioppino– good seafood stew with shrimp mussels and clams with fish fillet– good sop for bread. 6-linguini with clam– white sauce– very al dente– liked it. 7– caesar salad– excellent– tangy with shavings of parmsan– my brother in law, who is not a foodie at all, complimented the salad.

A planned visit to Asbury Park led me to choose Cibo e Vino based on Unilocal reviews. We arrived on a Saturday just as they opened ready with our appetites and high expectations. Our server explained the«tapas» style portions and the«free flowing» service(as the dish is made/ready, it is served). We ordered a delicious bottle of Gavi and then came the plethora of different plates– all very good. Arancini– cheesy inside, crisp outside Eggplant parmigiana– tender and not loaded with mozzarella Bruschetta– Bean & sage, pancetta, truffle oil Goat cheese, honey & cherries– both bruschettas where excellent Tagliatelle with bolognese– good but not the best I have had Prosciutto wrapped Monkfish-creative dish, very good Funghi white pizza with truffle oil-crust was crisp, ricotta was silky– we loved it Dessert: Toasted ricotta pound cake– looked dry but wasn’t, nice dish Mascarpone gelato with biscotti– very good Needless to say we enjoyed our meal, service and ambiance. Cibo e Vino deserves repeat visits.

Another favorite restaurant in Asbury Park! … Italian tapas cuisine, I was worried I was going to leave financially drained and hungry, but totally not the case! The waitress explained that they have a «free flowing» kitchen, which means that as soon as a dish is made, it comes out. So, we started ordering a bunch of apps… rice balls, caesar salad, calamari, eggplant parmesan… We kept the menu at the table and as we ate, we kept ordering new things. chicken & sausage gorgonzola, traditional rosso pizza, penne w/braciole, agnolotti, etc. The food was excellent and so was the service. We definitely left really full. This is a great place to go and share some delicious food! Totally check it out!

Great Italian place in Asbury. I loved the ambiance, the food, service, wine, everything. We came on a Saturday night and weren’t able to get a table outside, but they seated us inside right away. The burrata and prosciutto plate was amazing, as were the broccoli rabe, linguini pasta with clams, and gnocchi. The fresh bread that comes out was also great. We got a carafe of the Chardonnay wine for $ 27. The carafe is slightly bigger than a bottle. The chocolate espresso crème brûlée was amazing, and the limoncello was awesome as well. Overall I loved this place! If you’re in jersey shore, I would definitely recommend it!

We really enjoyed all of our small plates and wine flights. Had dinner with my sister and we shared about three small plates and oh, the bread! Wine flights are perfect! Our waiter was helpful and so was the matre ‘d /manager. We had questions and Emiliano answered them all and we also had a pleasant conversation with him. Looking forward to repeating this experience !

Let me preface this: I’ve worked as a consultant for restaurants for over 15 years. The 2 times I’ve come here I’ve had reservations and still had to wait an 1.5 hours for a table. That. Is. Absurd. Especially if no compensation is made. Hungry people are angry people. I’m sure a glass or 2 of wine & a bread basket would of gone a long way. The staff is all very sweet & accommodating but the manager needs to make sure the reservation book is being run correctly! Food: some of it was amazing & some was meh. I’ll come back because it’s a great concept but they need to iron out the kinks.

Same owners as fish so same great service. Makes all the difference. While there isn’t much ambiance — the bar area is big and accommodating. Small plates Italian food. Bread and oil is delicious to start. My favorite pizza has the arugula on top. So many things to choose from. You won’t get bored.

What an absolutely great time we had here! Met a group here, though me and Damon got here a bit early, sat at the bar for a drink. Bartender was wonderful and one of the owners, Karen, came out and chatted. She let us sample some delicious Italian wines and we were so impressed with her knowledge about all of them. She was such a delight! Our group arrived, so the 8 of us were seated up front. Wait staff outstanding! Italian tapas, love it! Everything we had from the menu was wonderful! We will definately be stopping by again. And FYI, they own the place next door called FISH as well. Been there last year. Another outstanding place to try out. Bön Appétit!!!
