I went there yesterday to get my nails done. I love them so much. I went to go see Mark, who is a sweetheart. He does your nails based on your personality. I told him about myself and he did my nails based on that. I got a 3D design along with nail art on my acrylic nails. He went above and beyond on my nails. They were perfect.

OHMYGOD! OHMYGOD! MARKISAMAZING! For those of you who’ve read my previous reviews, you’ve seen the crazy struggles and searching that I have gone through to find a fantastic deco artist for my fly nails! Well, the struggle is over. I have found him! His name is Mark at the fabulous Tigress salon and he couldn’t be nicer, more accommodating or talented at what he does. Not only does he know all of the latest techniques, but he can do them quickly and flawlessly, if there is a struggle or difficulty he mentions it sweetly and lets you know how he’ll solve the problem. He’ll do a design off a photo or sit with you and figure out a cool original. He’s competed in competitions and is prolific in hand-painting, sculpting, extension sculpt, gel color, acrylic color, painted color, deco pieces and rarest of all SCREENPRINTING(that’s right, he has a nail printer just like some of the cool Japanese and Korean salons do). This guy is an exotic diamond in the nail desert that is Colorado! Sure, signature nails and spa is great, they can do relatively complex design pretty quick and pretty well. Sure, adorn has a great rep for painted designs and a great technician. But Mark is the eccentric genius that somehow was transported from the streets of Harajuku and Shibuya 109 into a small salon in MotherF#@$%^G Westminster Colorado. I chose a design and mark showed me the pieces he had. I saw these tiny little spiders and I knew that’s what I wanted! I told him to make me a vintage spider princess ANDHEDIDEXACTLYTHAT! He took his time, charged me a BEYONDFAIR price for all of the work he did. Not only that, but he redid the poor fill I had from the other place, thinned out my nails and did a totally new reshaping. He even fixed the lifting problem I had(1 week after a fill from adorn) and the ugly gunk that got stuck under there as a result. I really can’t recommend him enough! Even though I’m leaving in a few days and won’t be able to return to the fabulous Mark until my next convention in Denver(so sad to be moving, but at least my job requires me to travel here) I can at least leave him with this wonderful review. Things Mark Will Do: –Take time and care with your nails and hands –Listen to EXACTLY what you want –Own up to any and all mistakes, redo them when he notices it or you point it out –Create the most delicate and realistic acrylic nails you’ve ever seen(even if your previous were super thick) –Create stunning, custom art for you, even if you pulled something super intense from a pop magazine, japanese tumblr or pintrest HEWILLDOIT –Make you feel comfortable, listened to and like he’s your best friend –Give you his number, and tell you that it’s totally okay to book through him, the salon or text to let him know you’ve had a nail emergency and need it fixed LIKENOW(high maintenance, that one) Seriously, Mark is the hero nail salons deserve. Go to him… do it nao!

I have been here a few times since relocating to Denver. I always get an appointment, it seems to work better that way. The sign on the door says WALKINSWELCOME… but it seems a buzz everytime I come here so I would suggest making an appointment. I even usually do mine same day, as it is always a last minute decision to cut my hair. This time I decided to cut off about 8 or so inches… brining in a picture of Victoria Beckham. asking. can you make me look like her? LOL. ok, just the hair :) … There were some nails getting done, hair being colored, the place seemed a buzz with chat and beauty! Everyone seems really nice, welcoming, and professional. Diana took good care of me. we talked about what I was looking for, and went over for a good washing and she got right to work. Cutting off that much hair took a while, and then styling it to perfection could not have been easy. We made small talk, and I watched as she over and over again took the time to make sure every hair visible was ‘in line’. I was in and out in about an hour and the cut was $ 35. When I need highlights done and more I’ll be back. I felt well taken care of… Great place, not over the top, you feel at home… Thanks!

WARNING: This review could double as a novella. But with good reason. Ever have one of those days/weeks/months where you find yourself cross-eyed with the amount of stuff you have to do? And perhaps one of those tasks involves getting a haircut? I had to cancel with Andee weeks ago, and things have been a nightmare for my family as of late, so rescheduling the hair appointment and driving downtown just seemed beyond my realm of comprehension. I’ve lived in my house for over a year and a half now, and I’ve spent the majority of that time mocking the name of the salon just up the street(see above). Usually when I or my husband mentioned it, we would add the obligatory«look at me I’m sexy» cat claw gesture and snarl thing. There was a definite rolling of Rs. Even now, having had my hair done there, it’s still going to be a struggle to look at someone and say, «Why yes, I got my hair done at Tigeress, A Salon.» I mean, really? Really. HOWEVER! It’s two blocks from my house. In the same strip as my credit union, my liquor store, and my pizza place. Come on now. So, while visiting the credit union this morning, I decided, what the hell, I’m going in. The way my bangs/not bangs are growing, I’m going to start looking like the one of the mushroom guys from Super Mario Bros. soon. Their newest stylist, Christina, cut my hair. As has been my habit since last September, whenever meeting a new stylist, I went through the routine of explaining how I’ve been working to grow out a bad cut for over a year, blah blah, please help, not sure, just make it better. She took the time to listen, told me what she thought would work best, talked me out of getting bangs again, and got to work. Whew. That was a lot of commas. Anyway, so she’s cutting my hair, and I mention that the bad cut happened at a place nearby, and she looks at me and goes, «Did you happen to write about Mr. Fancy Facial Hair?» Ohhhhh shit. Turns out most of the students at the time had read it, in addition to the instructor who I hadn’t been too nice about. Christina had been the student council PRESIDENT at that institute when I got the cut. She dressed up as the aforementioned instructor for Halloween last year, for crying out loud. Karma hates me. Oh God. Please don’t shave my head. Please keep my eyebrows in tact. Please don’t «accidentally» give me a bald patch. Fortunately for me, she took pity on my soul and gave me a great haircut. A GREAT haircut. And, I think she was as excited as I was to call people to tell them she had met me as I was to tell folks what happened to me this morning. Lastly, Christina is doing a deal through October — $ 65 for a cut and color. If you live up in North Arvada/Westminster, go visit her and save yourself some gas money. Afterward you can use that extra money to buy wine(for me, if you feel the urge) from the cute little liquor store two doors down or have pizza at Santaramo’s.
