Wow this place is terrible. I got the crab cake appetizer and 1 martini. It cost $ 35! The crab cake tasted like the meat was old, they were dried out, and they were small. What a waste of money.

Chicken tenders were under cooked. Was very disappointed. Told my waitress and she took care of me. Probably still won’t visit this restaurant again, although I understand that everyone makes mistakes but this was totally acceptable. I ordered chicken tenders to be safe and as a snack not to walk away with salmonella(sp)

Had breakfast there Friday morning May 6. Food good enough and service, too. Great people watching at the terminal C security backup. But I think the photograph and menu autographed by Dennis Hastert that hangs on the wall ought to go in the trash.

Don’t waste your time. This is one of the worst meals I’ve ver had. I travel a lot and know that airport food generally suffers in quality, but his is bad. Bad service. Bad food. More bad service.

Hostess appeared disinterested in helping anyone get a table. Should have been our clue to go somewhere else at the airport. Our waitress was very nice and did well, but the food was underwhelming. Could not get the kitchen to cook one of my friend’s steak well done. Fish m chips Was flavorless, and the cream of spinach side was kinda yucky. Too bad, cuz the atmosphere seemed pretty swell.

2 stars only because the waitress was good. To get my table, I had to interrupt the hostess who was staring straight down at her phone and didn’t notice me standing in front of her. Waitress was very friendly. Service was prompt and my drinks were refilled. I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip appetizer. It tasted like they put frozen chopped spinach in the microwave and topped it with grated cheese(that wasn’t melted). There was also a very small amount of it. Came with carrots that were slimy. I did not eat the carrots. For the entrée. I had the Prime Rib French Dip. There certainly was nothing prime about it. The meat, of which there was very little, was overcooked, very fatty, rubbery, cut wrong, and hard to eat. I deeply regret ordering this. French fries were good.

Good service, over priced air port food. The menu appears good but the food was over cooked. Have a cocktail and move on

Seated immediately at a single table and there was no line after me either. Janae was an amazing server 5 stars for her but everything else was pretty bleh I’d have given one star if not for Janae. I ordered a clam chowder soup which Janae suggested– it was chunky and creamy and pretty much what you want with a clam chowder. I ordered the lobster Cobb for my main with a crab cake on it. It came out with no lobster. Then after Janae came back to check on me she corrected the no lobster issue and came back to make sure it was all okay. When she checked on me it was, then I started digging into my huge salad. Literally the center of my plate was a salad mix that someone didn’t check so it had wilted leaves, then if you cut the plate into quarters you had an old mushy 1⁄8 of an avocado, the next had old definitely not fresh tomatoes, the third had triple the amount of avocado in large blue cheese crumbles that kept falling off of the plate and the fourth about the same amount as the blue cheese crumbles of bacon. I ate all the lobster and crab cake– both of which came from the freezer, most of the bacon and blue cheese, and whatever greens I could catch on my fork in between bites. Honestly the avocado and tomato were at least 2 – 3 days old and if not for Janae I would have sent it all back. Skipped out on dessert just because Dinner was so unappetizing. Do yourself a favor and go spend the money a legal seafood.

I got to the airport super early because non-existent increased security. I sat at the bar mainly because they have outlets at every other seat. I liked this place! It wasn’t crowded because it is before security so there was plenty of space for my luggage. The food was good. I had a salad and the clam chowder which was terrific. The bartender was attentive without being needy. People having the fish and chips were raving. The only weirdness was the cutlery. It was all like cheap grade school stuff. The soup spoon and was a tiny teaspoon and the fork was almost flat. Anyway, obviously not a huge deal but it we still weird. I’ll be back for sure!

While waiting for our flight to KC we stopped at Sam & Harry’s for a brew and snack. We had a 22 oz Blue Moon for only $ 8, a real deal, as the 12oz was $ 6.50. We also had the Caesar Salad which was a serving large enough to split with our entrée. The dressing is to die for! An old tennis shoe dipped in this dressing would be delightfully good !! We were here so long that we had 2 waitresses, Andrea & Monito, both very helpful and very cheerful!

Great place to spend some time waiting for your flight. Good food, full bar and reasonable prices. We had the Caesar salad and Blue Moon wheat draft, yeah Colorado. TSA precheck with the lane about 50 feet away from Sam & Harry’s is way beyond convenient. We will sit here with our food and beer until the last minute. Lol How great is that. Getting so I like airports, can you believe that. Very friendly servers and great service make for a great experience and hassle free wait at the airport for your flight.

Man this place keeps getting worse and worse! The potential here is amazing but the execution is horrendous. I was here on a Saturday around noon. There were maybe 3 – 5 people at the bar when I sat down and the bartender was beyond overwhelmed. She honestly couldn’t handle more than one task at once. She was messing up orders, bringing the wrong checks to people, and completely forgetting about some patrons. She should not be behind the bar, period. I ordered a burger med-well and it came out raw. I sent it back and about 35 minutes later I got a new one… cooked the same way! This place is falling apart. I hate to write negative reviews for restaurants because I know it has a significant impact on business, but something has to change here. Management needs to straighten up and get this madhouse in order.

After a long day in DC and still having quite a bit of time before my flight out I decided to stop in at Sam & Harry’s for a much needed glass of wine and some grub. I very much enjoyed the appetizer of crab cakes and a side of coleslaw. As per most airports, it’s incredibly overpriced. I paid $ 16 for the crab cakes, which was a bit steep. I’m not sure how much I paid for the wine, but it sure did the job for me that day. The service was good as I sat at the bar. I prefer sitting at the bar when traveling alone at airports anyways. Sam & Harry’s is also located in the American Airlines terminal before you go through security. Two other people I met at the bar actually came from other terminals because they said that the bars similar to this were too crowded.

Waiter was personable, but misqued my(simple) order waiting for my plane. He couldn’t get the chef to turn another one around quick enough. As a result, I didn’t get to eat before my flight out. Still had to pay for my own drink, no comp for his mistake. Therefore cannot recommend them. Food eaten by others was questionable quality for the price paid. Bottom line: I’d suggest looking elsewhere if hungry at DCA. Not worth the wait or price.

Good place to stop in Reagan Airport if you’re waiting to catch a plane. Our server, TJ, was great! Very friendly and fast service. The food was good, too. I had the Veggie Flatbread with a beer and my 8-yr old daughter had the cheeseburger and fries. No beer for her — though I would have given her one if it was legal(and the passengers in the plane would have thanked me). The burger looked good, generous size for a kid’s burger and not greasy. My flatbread was delish topped with lots of small bits of veggies and feta cheese. We had to rush off to catch our plane — literally the last ones to board the plane. We even got the sourpuss faces from the passengers who were waiting in the plan as we happily jumped into our seats only moments before the door closed. But who cares — we were happy that we had delicious food and beer(not the 8 year old — really, I wish it was legal already… lol) before taking off. It beats the peanuts and refreshments served on the plane. Enjoy!

This restaurant is located the airport, but before going through security. They offer decent food and a basic selection of wines. The place is crowded most of the times. There are quite a few seats available and the bar area has at least 20 seats… I always found a place at the bar. If you are looking for place to eat, I would recommend this, because inside the terminal the options are very limited

Waitress: we are out of cocktail sauce Me: do you have horseradish and Worcestershire sauce? Waitress: of course Me: well with a little ketchup and juice from this lemon I can make it. Waitress: we are out of cocktail sauce Me: please bring me horseradish and Worcestershire Waitress: ok Me: that tip is now mine Oh BTW. The fries were soggy and the crab cake ok but not the best ever as toured by the menu

Wow! I mean based on the start rating you should SPRINT away from this place. But I’d recommend you give it another look assuming a few things. 1) you are traveling wither by yourself or with one other person and like to sit at the bar 2) you enjoy shellfish(mussels or oysters) 3) you«like» whiskey but won’t turn your nose up at the lack of a massive selection of single malts As a note I never order steak when I am 10 miles from the ocean. Seems silly doesn’t it? Opened with blue point oysters. Buttery, creamy and melting in your mouth delicious. Paired that with a veggie risotto soup… Mehhh. And a entrée of fish and chips. As I said shellfish were delicious the soup was«fair» and the fish and chips were overpriced for the portion size. The flyover though was spot on: D Bartenders CARED where the shellfish came from. Walking to the kitchen to find out where the mussels were from when I asked and also, after some confusion, identifying the oysters correctly. Food came out quick and was hot. Restaurant was busy but I saw no dinners upset… Prices? I expect to pay a 20% premium at an airport. much like a hotel. So I’d say the were in line but perhaps a tad high 6 oysters $ 14 Cup of soup $ 7 Fish and chips $ 16 I’d stop in and at least grab an app :)

Went in for a quick snack, a crab cake appetizer(I’ll never pass up a chance for some crab cakes!) No they didn’t put capers in some crab cakes?! Anyway the crab cakes were good. Not great, not fantastic. But it satisfied my crab cake craving. TJ is a great waiter. My son liked him.

My goodness fellow Unilocalers, you had me a bit scared here. Flight canceled, stranded at DCA with limited choices, and we probably should have run for our lives based on the reviews, but already drawn in by a really good glass(or two) of chardonnay, and smelling some tempting smells, we decided to ignore the less than flattering reviews, and share the beef tenderloin(two 4 oz filets) with choice of two sides(we chose mashed potatoes and creamed spinach), and chose the bourbon sauce with crispy onions for $ 24. Service was really spotty for us, but others around us did better with different servers. That being said, it wasn’t awful, and we weren’t in a hurry. Aloof would be a good word for it. For instance, we said we were sharing, yet ONE steak knife(and a giant one at that) was dropped on our table. No extra plate was offered. Luckily, the food was warm and properly cooked to our medium preference. It was not the most attractive plate(see pic), but everything was tasty in a not too bold way. We would have liked to actually taste the bourbon sauce, but beef was tender and didn’t need the giant steak knife. Could have used some seasoning, but a little salt and pepper helped. Spinach tasted like Christmas. Nutmeg? Cinnamon? A bit odd to have parmesan with those spices, but what the heck, it didn’t not work. As for prices, no it’s not cheap here, but $ 24 for 8 oz of beef tenderloin in DC doesn’t seem totally off the charts to me. And $ 10 for a cold generous glass of chardonnay at this airport was not crazy either.(place nearby wanted $ 14 for a glass of chardonnay)
