Had the cheese empanadas and my partner had the chicken empanadas. It’s very fresh, and it tasted great. The place is clean and spacious. A better experience than its competitor nearby.

I don’t want to tell you about this place because I want to keep it a secret. It is a wonderful place. Staff are friendly and very attentive. The food is delicious and from time to time they introduce new dishes. My favorite is the fried chicken bolivian style. The pupusas are tasty. If I am there in the morning the linaza, a flaxseed drink, is a must for me.

After the third time coming here I think I’ll be skipping it and finding another place. It’s a relatively bland and blank atmosphere with not a whole lot going on. The food is pretty decent, service is good but the menu is rather limited. I noticed many reviewers giving this place more than three stars. And then I noticed almost none of them are Latino. So I cannot go based on any of their reviews because clearly they don’t know really good Salvadoran food. And a good portion of what they have on the menu, isn’t even Salvadoran at all. To be honest, I haven’t a clue what it’s supposed to be. In any case, it’s still a decent enough place. But it’s certainly not worth actually sitting down at a table. Take it to go. Any park has more atmosphere and ambiance than this place.

I used to live nearby and I miss coming here more often. It’s not usually very crowded and in a kinda dicey south Arlington strip mall with a goodwill and a check cashing place, but don’t let that throw you! The food is so dope, despite the not-so-expansive menu. Our brunch go-to was juevos rancheros, a few cheese papusas and margaritas(they have a full beer/wine list and don’t judge Margs with brunch!) By far the thing I miss the most is the super friendly owner. She made it a point to come say hi every time we were in and whenever we stop back, she greets us by name with a big smile.

Delicious chicken empanada. The owner was there the time we went and she was very friendly. Smoothies are good too, night excellent but they taste pretty real night syrup base.

The food surpassed my expectations. Authentic Latin American food in large portions. Definitely a place I would eat at again. The smell of food will wet your appetite, you won’t be disappointed if you go.

Great food, and the prices are great. I highly recommend their empanadas! They also have great coffee and definitely try their mango smoothie. They make all their drinks right when you order them so expect to wait a few minutes; but the wait is so worth it! I live nearby so I like to stop by for a quick bite or refreshing drink on my way to/from the trails.

Pleasant place. They have an array of desserts, empanadas, sandwiches, limited coffee options, beer and alcohol, lunch and dinner specials. Free wi-fi. I stopped by for a coffee. I’ve been curious of this place. Honestly, the huge winter wonderland scene in the display window is what got me in there! I wanted to look at it up close and decided to order coffee, an empanada, my mom got the bread pudding which was awesome!!! Pleasant, will return if I have some down time and in the area.

Pupusa solo queso review, on a scale including restaurants such as Atlacatl across the street, Blanca’s Falls Church, Tipicos Dona Gloria Herndon. Masa was nicely oiled, not overly dry like Dona Gloria, and not a touch overly oily like Blanca’s(which is awesome btw). Between the 2, I would prefer overly oily, but this pupusa strikes a very good balance. Wonderfully pliable and chewy. Very much like Atlacatl’s. Cheese was ridiculously plentiful. Almost a 40⁄60 cheese masa ratio. Very, very hearty. 5 stars Aji verde was stingy, and a bit bland. Not pop in your face good like Superchicken’s, but not bad. More vegetal than SC, not as hot. 3 stars Curtido was one of my favorites. The cabbage and tomato sauce come separate, and the cabbage is nicely sweet, very crisp. Tomato sauce is just eh. 4 stars — - - Gentleman at the counter was friendly, and explained the pastries without annoyance. Lady in the kitchen came out wearing a smile, and was friendly. — - - Ambience is quite nice – fresh paint, tvs, nice tables and chairs.

This is a great family restaurant! I absolutely love coming here with my family! Food for different tastes! Smoothies and pastries are so good as well. They also have a party room for I think group meetings or birthday parties. Over all great place You should try the piqué macho A combination of either meat or chicken slices mixed with pieces of hot dogs, fries, and toped with slices of egg and red and green peppers

Cool laid-back place for a variety of snacks, beverage, meal, or dessert. Bean and cheese pupusa with cabbage side was so tasty for $ 2 and the perfect snack size. Just ask for the cabbage in a bowl so it doesn’t make your pupusa soggy. The wait for one pupusa was 20 minutes with just one guy who ordered an enchilada ahead of me. This is not a fast food joint but the slow paced vibe seems like part of the charm. People were working on their laptops inside using the free wifi and taking advantage of the spacious, quiet atmosphere. Friendly, clean neighborhood spot to chill and slow down your day.

Nice little bakery. Has a nice variety of baked goods. I especially like the dulce de leche cookies(Alfajores?). And very friendly service. Don’t let the busted-up strip mall locale fool you. It’s worth going inside. Few of the restaurants or bakeries in the Mid-Columbia Pike/South American/Commercial Strip District(or whatever you call it) are much to look at, but many serve excellent food.

I was so excited to discover this place, which is very close to our new home. We went here last weekend for a very satisfying breakfast. The coffee is pretty good and very well priced, and I tried two of the pastries, both of which were delicious. My boyfriend had the scrambled egg and steak sandwich, which came with that awesome green salsa that is so good I want to bathe in it. It was pretty quiet, even on a Saturday morning, and they have free WiFi. I think this would be a great place to spend a couple of hours. I look forward to trying more of their menu!

This place is very inviting due to the large clean space with plenty of tables and an owner who is so friendly! Almost every one of these reviews mentions the silpancho so I had to try it. It has all of the components that I seek in a great«brunch» dish: thin breaded steak, 2 eggs, lightly fried rice, chopped tomatoes and onions, and crispy potatoes… but it wasn’t as awesome as I thought it would be. The steak was a little too thin to maintain any flavor and I could tell that my 2 eggs were cooked in the microwave… to an over over-hard consistency. I got one of those pastries filled with chicken that was sitting in that heating tray on the counter. It had pretty good flavor and the pastry was oh so flaky good. The green sauce she gave me went really well with this. Oh the pupusas! We got revueltas(pork, beans, and cheese) and just plain cheese. Both were delicious. Eat these hot(too!) when they are toasty on the outside and melty on the inside! They came with all of the fixings – the cabbage slaw and tomatoey salsa! It was kind of a bummer that it took about 25 minutes for my order to come out even though there was only one other family that came in before me. I definitely want to come back and try some of the other things on the menu that sounded yummy.

Clean, big, and good service, but their food was a bit lacking. I visited mid-afternoon to pick up some late lunch. I ordered the Silpancho(as it had so many rave reviews here) and, for over 10 dollars, I was definitely full afterwards(huge portions), but the overall quality left something to be desired. The meat was tough and dry and the rice was hard(dare I say. crunchy?). The plantains and potatoes(crisp and delicious) were the only saving points of the Silpancho, but perhaps I visited on a bad day. The plus side is that they have tons of variety and a bakery case full of treats that I wanted to try. Café Sazon let me down this time, but I’ll have to come again some other day.

What is Silpancho? It is a pile of comfort food goodness topped with more oh my goodness! The steak is lightly breaded and topped with two poached eggs, onions, and cilantro, and crème fraîche served on a bed of rice. You will not want to share. Seriously try this place, I implore you. The owner is this lovely, friendly woman who has been in the U.S. longer than I have been alive. And her kind spirit is reflected in the quality of this dish. If you have never had a silpancho, you must GPS this place and head over here… now.

We stopped by there on a Friday night around 9pm. We used an Amazon Local deal that was $ 10 for $ 20. The staff were very friendly and helpful, as the menu is completely in Spanish. Fortunately I was able to translate most of it without much help. The place is really roomy and spotless. I had the silpancho and she had the piqué macho. Both were good, but both had steak that was just too tough. I understand that it’s pounded, but it shouldn’t break your teeth. We were still hungry afterward(we aren’t large people) so we ordered a flan and some dessert items from the bakery. Unfortunately, I haven’t a clue what I ordered from the bakery, as I just pointed at each item that looked good. I know that we had two fruit empanadas that were good.
