I’ve been to this location 3 or 4 times and it’s one of my favorite BB&P locations. NOTE: I’ve only been on Sundays. Parking: Finding a reasonable parking space is never hard for me. Today I found a spot right in front of the restaurant. I usually park in a nearby lot without any problem. Wait: Today there was less than a 10 minute wait, which was not a problem at all. The bookstore area had plenty of space and the hostesses were polite, as always. Atmosphere: Cozy, artsy, creative, vintage, spacious. This location isn’t as small as the U Street location, which is great. The bathroom could have been cleaner. Service: The waitress was polite and provided good service. She was training a new employee, which was not a problem. They made sure to keep checking on us. The only issue we had was that they forgot to separate the bill when we asked, which was not a big deal at all. Food: The food was delicious. I ordered the sweet potato pancakes with a side of vegan sausage, two poached eggs and two teas(green and turmeric ginger). It came with a side of fruit. The fruit was delicious as always. It’s not a very big portion of fruit, but it’s just right. There were 3 huge pancakes that will definitely fill you up. They weren’t too sweet and had a perfect sweet potato flavor. The vegan sausage was okay, but I won’t order it again. My friend ordered the vegan bacon and that was delicious. I also tried some of her Oaxoca omelet and it was amazing. I’ll definitely order that next time. It was also a large portion, so you won’t leave hungry. There was also plenty of vegan bacon for the side order. I always order a piece of the chocolate layer cake to-go because it’s amazing. Overall, this is a great spot for meat-eaters, vegetarians and vegans alike.

Food: I ordered the sweet potato pancakes with a side of fruit and egg whites. They were hands down the tastiest pancakes I’ve ever had(aside from my homemade pancakes). Very fluffy and thick(three pancakes with the order). They are very sweet, so taste them before dousing them with butter/syrup. I also felt like they had a hint of brown sugar or some nutty flavor, like pecan or walnut, but I could be wrong. The fruit cup came with the sweetest tasting pineapple I’ve ever had, seriously is that even in season right now? My egg whites were simple, not seasoned(how I like them) and very healthy/filling. My boyfriend ordered the western omelette which was also tasty, but it didn’t come with a lot of ham, it was mostly cheese + egg. His grits were super creamy and rich, far from gritty! Ambiance: This is the best part of the experience, in my opinion. Very quaint shop with tons of interesting books and other areas of entertainment. You’ll find tons of people here: studying, having meetings, socializing, reading, etc. You can get a lot done while dining at B&P. Service: Very friendly hostess with a beautiful accent. Our server was also friendly and attentive. Price: Average price for breakfast/brunch. Overall: The food was good, the ambiance and service are wonderful. Overall, a great dining experience.
