The Vitamin Shoppe

I paid cash for a vitamin shoppe brand product recently and went in for a return — the assistant store manager named Jazmin came over and requested proof of purchase. After being told it was a cash purchase without a rewards membership she declined to take the product back. I indicated never having a problem in the past returning products and receiving a store credit and she proceeded to ask who had helped me in the past, as if everyone goes around with nothing better to do in their life but remember the names of retail establishment service folk. She was smiling the whole time and displayed happiness at the fact that in her putrid life she had one bit of control over denying a $ 25 refund. Great way to treat a customer — people in the northwest suburbs will now realize they should bring their business elsewhere — note to store manager: do yourself a favor and fire your overweight ugly asst. store manager — that’s who you want representing vitamin shoppe and your store — if so you’re as big of a fool as her — and the business will greatly suffer as a result.

I was pleasantly surprised on my visit here. I expected it to be like a trip to a rival chain, where I had encountered little selection and employees pushing the store brand like a bunch of drug dealers. It was everything but them offering me the first pill for free. I thought I was going to walk into Vitamin Shoppe and not see what I wanted, then have the staff talk up what they wanted me to buy.
WRONG!
I found 3 of the 4 items I wanted here, for better prices than I was expecting, and with only positive support from the staff. Everything was easy to find. They had several brands of flax supplement in three different styles, and their women’s health/​mothering section is impressive. The only thing I could not get? Refrigerated probiotics. Their cold case is full of muscle milk and whatnot, but that’s not uncommon as the refrigerated probiotics are hard to find anywhere.
I will be back for more when I run out of flax oil, when I start needing mother’s milk tea, and probably for something else I can’t even imagine needing right now.

I forgot how much I like this place. I hadn’t been here in a while, but I was in the burbs at a doctor’s appointment and he recommended Vitamin D, so I had to go get me a stash. It is always a nice in here. Never crowded, friendly staff and so organized. I just walked in and said, «I need x x x …» and they rushed to help me pick out what I was looking for. No beefy meat heads here like those «other» vitamin places. Just courteous professionals looking to help you get good olé vitamins. I got what I needed –in and out in record time!
